@awk@Syclus I have been seeing them a lot (and even have one or two of this style myself.) One thing I think is different is that these use relatively small “pillows” of insulation/pseudo-down. They are more flexible and much less “incredible-hulky” than what I remember from the 70’s. I still remember my expensive down ski jacket I got my parents to buy for when I was a teenager (told them they didn’t want their son to freeze!), and the “pillows” were huge, so only about 5 “tufts” vertically from top to bottom. This one, looking at the picture, has 12 tufts, probably about 2" each. I haven’t seen that big puffy style much anymore.
What’s cloud fill? Being it says cloud/down fill then states mixed fill in the specs. What’s the percent of each. How much does the jacket and the vest weigh?
@dtwsportsfan its a new 100% recycled product made from abandoned email accounts, geocities sites and myspace pages. Its so compactable because there was nothing of any real substance in them to begin with.
@NapkinEater precisely my thought, though I am no longer the blimp that I once was, when only Twiggy versions of models are shown wearing something, I instantly know this is not for me.
I actually did just purchase one, because somehow I’ve had three winter jacket zippers decide to come apart in the last couple of weeks.

@OutbackJon If you know someone with a sewing machine you can buy brand new zippers at pretty much any fabric/craft store. Walmart might even carry them in the fabric/craft section.
@sling_Shot70 Actually, yes, I do! The vest style (not this brand). I got one at Costco a few years ago. It compressed into a small pouch (which in that case was actually one of the front pockets). I had it on a winter trip with my camper where I forgot to bring my normal outdoor jacket which I was planning to grab at the last minute. And then it got down below freezing and snowed. And I was digging around for warmer stuff and I found I had this little fold-up vest, and it really worked well! It certainly was much better than not having it. These won’t protect you from strong winds or driving rain or sleet, but they certainly provide a nice bit of efficient insulation, and the vest can be worn under an outer layer (if you remember to bring one!) for best effectiveness.
What is “mixed fill” and “cloud/down”? Does not sound like down which is natural fill from feathers. Sounds more like what the my pillow guy uses for stuffing.

You’re from Texas. I don’t trust your opinion on jackets when I have 18" of snow in front of my house. Meh!
@fuzzmanmatt I’m near Houston and we had like 6 inches of nice dense packing snow the other day.
Today’s face looks weird.
@cengland0 came here to say exactly the same thing, even using the same descriptor
@cengland0 @RedOak Glad you brought that up. I kept refreshing my screen thinking something was wrong or I missed a click.
@heartny @RedOak whew, thank goodness because I thought I had some weird internet problem or something so I’m glad others see it too.
I pressed the meh button before the jacket image appeared so I thought I broke something.
Someone started a thread about this issue. Can’t wait to read the Oh Shit! report about it tomorrow.
https://meh.com/forum/topics/no-meh-face-today
@cengland0 It’s a puff of down. right-click, view image to see it clearly.
@squishybrain They fixed the top image but the one in the calendar still looks wrong.
This looks like what people would be wearing in a 1970’s movie set in the year 2021.
@awk what? People don’t wear puffer jackets in your area?

@commonhero @dtwsportsfan Damn. In for three . . .
That jacket looks nice, but that model is probably 6’, 150 lbs. On me, I’d probably look like the Michelin Tire Man.
@NapkinEater
Exactly what I was thinking, for my guy though, not me!
@NapkinEater precisely my thought, though I am no longer the blimp that I once was, when only Twiggy versions of models are shown wearing something, I instantly know this is not for me.
I want my Meh Button. I lost my streak on 7/4/20, because it wasn’t there… Not Again!
@Mandamm - Ticket filed, your meh face will be fixed as soon as they can get to it

For the price… This is a pretty good jacket.
These were sold at Kohl’s. Common comment is that they run large. https://m.kohls.com/bvreviews/read_review.jsp?bvType=ratings&pCode=3632823&pName=Men's HeatKeep Nano Modern-Fit Down Packable Puffer Jacket&webExclusion=n
@Vrysen Kohl’s must be dumping things since that heart necklace of the other day was also sold there too.
Well, this seems like a good deal.
I actually did just purchase one, because somehow I’ve had three winter jacket zippers decide to come apart in the last couple of weeks.

@OutbackJon Sure, it may arrive the same day, but will it be enhanced?
@mehvid1 @OutbackJon I’ve taken Enhancements before …They didn’t work

“Packable”? Where am I going?
If you like to keep your cards close to your vest, you can put them in one of these.
@phendrick So…you can say…“I’m packin’”?
I like to use these as layers. I have the coat and the vest and I wear them under my main winter coat. Excellent layering option.
@peabs007 You could get all the sizes and layer as well!!
Is the puffy jacket of the 2020s akin to the puffy shoulders of the 90s?
@wickhameh It’s the life preserver of the 50s.
@wickhameh
Keep one in the car?

@screechowl … you don’t want to know what I think the My Pillow guy uses for stuffing.
@pmarin I do want to know.
Meh provided excellent, personal customer service.
Due to the puffy fill. I’ve heard these can save your life from a fall of up to 500ft? Does anyone have any experience?
@bugger Not personally, but since you asked
@gar I think a XXXsmall may have helped that chick out
This would be great-- for the four days a year I would need it in Tampa Bay…
My mom always said I should keep an extra coat in the car.
