@Kidsandliz Yes, those are just of few of the 10,000 pictures I took on my “world tour” a few years back. I meant to take a better photo of my wall today, but I got slammed by attorneys. Will try to post a pic tomorrow.
@Trillian World tour!!! So where all did you go? How long were you gone? I’d love to do something like that some day if I could either get a job that allowed me to do that or had the money.
I spent a whole year bumming around, and not a day goes by where I don’t yearn to do it again. I saw so many amazing places that I never dreamed I would ever see in person. And an entire year without working was heaven. On my worst days - when I was cold, wet, hungry, tired AND lost – I kept thinking “this still beats working for lawyers.”
@Trillian Nice photos. Love to see those places. I lived and worked in several countries although since I was a working stiff didn’t get to see much outside of that. Wish I had the time, money… to be able to do what you did. Have the time right now but don’t have the money. I know when I lived in those countries I lived on very little but I think the costs of doing that has gone up more than inflation and it was safer to hitch hike then too.
@speediedelivery Favorites – so many, but Cambodia, Croatia, Petra and Turkey stand out. Seeing Mount Everest was a bonus I wasn’t expecting. And I was so lucky to see Palmyra in Syria before it was destroyed.
Worst – Albania. Fuck Albania. As a solo female, I felt more uncomfortable there than the Middle East. On top of that, TV’s everywhere played According to Jim and King of Queens non-stop.
@Trillian If I go on an extended trip I would almost have to go solo. My RL friends and family are not able and not likely to change. I have been trying to think of someone who would be fun and able to take a short trip this year and coming up empty.
@speediedelivery My next trip will be to Belize this winter, with a side trip to Guatemala to see Tikal. I haven’t been able to decide which Belizean beach to park my butt on, but that’s the kind of problem I like having.
@jbartus It’s a shark costume, attacking a stick ninja figure (like a stick horse). Best 8 bucks I ever spent at Dollar General. He even makes ninja sounds! I got him to protect me from evil spirits in my office. The most evil one eventually got fired, so he did his job well.
That is glorious.
Bite me!
I too am celebrating shark week
Shark stamps at the post office today.

Not that stamp but I like it.
Make that Wednesday.
@speediedelivery I had to look them up… Pretty nice!
I am celebrating by punching sharks in the snout to establish superiority. And just about anyone.
Nice photos on the wall. You take them?

@Kidsandliz Here’s a picture of my gallery wall:

@Trillian More than a bit jealous. I see some places on my bucket list. I have done some traveling but no more than 3 weeks and stuck back at work.
Favorite place or memory? Skip this place, it was not what I expected?

I was hoping the shark would eat phelps.
I’m intrigued by the photo. Is it some kind of shark eating a ninja costume?

@Trillian but… it was sold at Dollar General… why did it cost more than $1?!
