Happy Days..
28Since our friend @Barney does not like the RIP thread, I want to start a Happy Day thread. Feel free to post whatever made your day today -- keep it relatively clean!!! ( you know who you are!)
Fifteen years ago, today, my husband married me. What a wonderful day it was. Most of the days between then and now have been great. We have our ups and downs, more ups than downs. He gives me strength in ways I never imagined I would need it. He loves me even when I don't laugh at his jokes. He is helping me raise our two children to be outstanding people.
I really couldn't ask for more.. so have a wonderful day! I did and will.
P.S. yes, it was 3 - 2 - 1 .. he never forgets our anniversary this way!

@mikibell Why am I always singled out as THAT guy?
@mfladd hmmmmm... I took out that specific reference. I seriously considered it :) Perhaps it is your guilty conscience? And you are a bigger chump than I am!!!!!!!
He knows who he is.
Ok, mine doesn't quite measure up to an anniversary, but i am sneezing less this morning. Happy!
Hey @barney! Love purple!
Happy Texas Independence Day everyone! Don't you all wish you had more Texans in your life?!!
;)
@f00l No need to measure.. this is supposed to be about those things that make YOU happy..
@f00l I love purple.
@f00l er no
@Cerridwyn
;)
@Barney
I just bought a purple bluetooth "block rocker" a wedding gift. From amazon, but unfortunately oos now.
The engaged couple were thrilled by the item and the color - if something is that large and that purple and plays the music you like, a good time is pretty much in the cards.

@f00l Wow, 30 pounds of purple sound. Very cool.
@Barney
Another wedding coming up. Wish they werent oos. Would get 1 for couple + 1 for me.
Everyone needs a purple weapon for use in the "loudest neighborhood house" wars.
@f00l I'm glad you don't live in my neighborhood. :)
@Barney
I think purple should speak softly most of the time, but be able to go loud under combat conditions. Just in case.
@f00l Speak softly and carry a big (purple) speaker?
@Barney
Yes, a purple speaker should follow the Teddy R philosophy in the neighborhood sound wars.
I married @MrsPavlov on my birthday (7/21).
Have forgotten my anniversary.
Never will I hear the end of it.
@Pavlov @mrspavlov
@Pavlov
@Pavlov On my way out of work last night, it struck me -- you received the most AWESOME gift on your birthday -- @MrsPavlov from that day forward!
It's Spring here and the weather is fabulous! I wish I could share with you all.
@Teripie
@mikibell cosmos -- one of my fav. flowers.
@ceagee I love wildflowers of any type.. our yard is too swampy to grow pretty flowers like this. We also have a rock shelf layer about 6 inches down, so nothing too fragile will grow :(. I have lots of flower pots strategically placed, however !!
BTW.. it is the good doctor's b-day..
@mikibell A most excellent reason to choose March 2 as a wedding day. Happy anniversary!
@Barney Thank you, I will say it tickled my husband when he realized I was getting married on Dr. Seuss's b-day. I am not a fan of rhyming, or iambic pentameter, which is quite challenging for an English major :)
I tired to get my wife to wed me on 7/7/7 but we couldn't get the reception hall she wanted. settled for 6/30/7 the week before. Easy for me to recall. I just have to think about my disappointment over an easy anniversary date and subtract a week.
@jml326 We got married on 10/10/10. Everyone says I made it too easy for my husband to remember.
@stardate820926 well you are the goat take the blame.
@jml326 even my son chants "Happy wife; Happy life!" .. no mention of happy hubby!
@mikibell I like this thread. Thank you.
Kitten back flips with a twist. I would take pictures, but I was welding the wand that commanded the flips. Point is, watching a kitten do wacky things you cannot help to smile and have your day better. Bonus points when the Big cat joined in and showed kitten how high a cat could really fly !
Even though no flips these might turn up the corners of your mouth.

@ceagee Lick!
I forgot to mention yesterday. I started working at Mediocre exactly 1 year ago, 3/2/2015.
@galmaegi
@MEHcus I'm back. -_-;
@galmaegi
I couldn't choose between them...
@galmaegi
@jml326
No we couldn't. And no, it wouldn't.
Almost my fake internet birthday.
@The_Baron do you have an April 1 bday, like I have?
@mikibell Oh, I do! I do!
@mikibell I use March 14th, Pi day.
@The_Baron oh..I like that one too!
@Barney twinsies!
@mikibell I can't think of a nicer person to be my twin.
@Barney thank you!
I got a straight seven hours sleep last night. Hasn't happened in years. I feel good!
@pooflady Color me jealous!! I was up fixing a critical issue and meeting with people on the other side of the world! Congratulations on the good night sleep!
Not a day of happiness for me; it was the absolute opposite for reasons I'll say elsewhere -- but I am glad for this thread.
@narfcake I am sorry about Bella.. but on the day you took her home or some other noteworthy day, come here and post a great memory of her!
Google Summer of Code is back!
https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/
Even though I don't participate in it, it's always amazing to see the cool things that come out of it, and the wide variety of organizations that participate.
@dashcloud that is sweeet.. please don't tell my son about this. He has been driving me crazy with making programs/games in Excel. He is testing the extent of my knowledge. I haven't shown him macros in VBA yet! He has Lego EV3 too and is making my living room a minefield!
@mikibell If your son is a college student, he should definitely apply- they pay you if you're accepted.
Otherwise, there's plenty of projects that would love people to help them.
Here's what a master (or probably a Grand Master) can do in Excel: http://www.geocities.jp/nchikada/pac/
@dashcloud Hehehe my son is 11.. he THINKS he is a coder. I didn't read the ages on the event, sorry. Ut oh.. I sent him to pacelman and cellvader...
@mikibell
I know a guy who was a total coder at age 11. Drove his family nuts. He is also a total coder now, 30 years later, and still drives people nuts sometimes. But he's a great guy.
So why not?
@f00l well, mine has the driving me nuts part down!! I only say he "thinks" he is, because he hasn't seen real coding yet.. he is getting there though. :)
@mikibell
My coder friend, having coded for years, when he was 19, back in the days of small isps, emailed and called his isp, telling them that the account server was way insecure. They patted his head and told him to go out and play, more or less.
So he emailed the owner's and the tech vp's personal & biz email accounts a list of usernames, real names, and credit card numbers, along with the short list of commonplace linux commands he had used in gaining root on the machine. They hired him.
Nowaways he writes code that has to do w AI and routers or something, under govt contract perhaps? His social skills are still terrible, but if you put up with him, he's a lovely person.
It's gonna rain! It's gonna rain! Lots and lots of rain!
Congrats on the anniversary!
I was told by a James Beard nominated chef that he really wants me to work with him! AND my 2yr old son hugged me and told me he loves me!!!
@Bayamonprieto77 Congratulations!
@dashcloud Thanks!
@Bayamonprieto77 James Beard chef - amazing. Told by 2yr old son he loves you - Even Better.
