Halloween woes. And asking for help...
3So here goes I apologize for the long post but will be giving a tl;dr version also.
I ordered a costume for @Stitch from target. It came in the wrong size. It was to be used for “safe” Halloween today… I called target customer support. Very nice person helped. But then didn’t follow through with the return label.
Replacement order showed up. Same mistake (likely the code for in store where they ship from has a different code but matches the code for online in the larger size) I get what the issue is. But let me return it. Target has stores in 49 states. Guess which one they are not in? Vermont. Closest store round trip is about 3 hours and over 100 miles. (There is a ferry that would cut off 20 miles but add $30 in ferry fees) they did give me a $10 gift card for my issues. But it’s not helping to return the items.
So meh is large enough that I’m hoping someone has some kind of target connection that may be able to help?
Tl;dr
Target shipped wrong size. Replacement order same wrong size. Having a hard time returning it. Help?

If they won’t give you a refund for something that was their error and you’ve made a good-faith effort to remedy the issue, have your credit card company reverse the charges.
@SSteve I may end up doing that, not sure if they will or not… it was the target credit card.
I’m pretty sure they let you return it by shipping it back?
Is the issue that you will need a costume today or that you need help w Target?
I think Target is pretty decent w CS. You may not get the costume you want from them if there’s a database sizing error that keeps getting replicated. But I’d think they would refund.
If you need a costume today, improvise I guess.
We can scout out the local Targets if you tell us which costume and which size you need. If your problem is returning it, can’t you do that by mail?? even without a return label?
@mikibell Thank you, that’s not necessary to search though. Very sweet to offer though! I definitely appreciate it!
The costume thing was more of I needed it for my son to do Trick or treating tonight, but I will improvise as @f00l said. It’s more of I am looking for a way to contact CS that will actually help me to return and refund the order(s).
@sohmageek Well, show us the improvisation!
so the issue is returning it, The site won’t allow me to print a return address label. The local store… well is not local. My other issue is needing the costume today… Which Isn’t something you guys can help with. Just frustrated with them… Their customer service has been very helpful in the most unhelpful way… Promising to send me labels or let me print them then not following through. The $10 Gift card came in, but so far that’s it. Thanks guys. Sorry I was a bit frazzled this morning when typing it up.
@sohmageek call them back and ask for a supervisor. Have them email you a return label while you are on the phone so you can verify that you actually got it.
@sohmageek
@RiotDemon
What are you supposed to do with printable shipping labels if you don’t own a printer and don’t work at a place where you can print stuff? And you hate printers?
Annoy the neighbors?
Some site or other once sent me a physical label thry the post when I told them I didn’t own a printer.
Usually I print stuff thru a friendly business.
@f00l library lets you print for 10¢ a page.
@f00l Staples, FedEx Office / Kinkos
Failing that you could try walking into a hotel like you own the place and use their business center.
@RiotDemon so 40 minutes later (now a total of 2 hours on the phone with target) they remedied the return label problem… I feel like my time is worth a heck of a lot more than $5/ hour… then again, $35/hour (price of the costume + the 10 Giftcard/hours) isn’t bad… still I’d prefer that they didn’t make me jump through hoops to fix their issue. the good part of this is that by the time it gets back to them they will likely have processed their Halloween clearance… and take a loss on it… Plus the shipping loss… which translates into our prices going up
Stop shopping at Target. Problem solved.
We got our family matching Xmas pajamas from target online with no issues!
