I can't do a Poll... but I can have people reply with one candy, then we can use stars... Please only 1 candy... then discuss blow the candy to make it easy ;)
@sohmageek You do put them in the freezer before you eat them right ? Nothing better than a Reese's cup than a frozen Reese's cup. If you really want to go crazy, mash it up and mix it with some ice cream.
@djslack Actually, I like those, since at this point I've eaten my Easter stash. They're green in the middle instead of egg-colored. Mildly repulsive, but if you've got the love of the Cadbury eggs in your heart, you can still eat right through it.
Anything which I... liberate from my younger family members in the "lemme just make sure everything in your trick-or-treat bag is okay for you to eat" check. That's, uh, a singular answer, yeah?
@goldenthorn We had a generous child, who would pick you out one or two of your favorite pieces and give them to you. However, we finally admitted to our teenage son that yes, we ate more out of his bucket after he went to bed. He was mad, and didn't accept our "Circle of Life" explanation that his grandparents had done this to us, and he'd do it if he had kids someday... :)
The best candy is also when you caught that adult who'd had enough of handing out candy to the snotnosed brats, and just tipped everything they had left in your bucket so they could be done for the evening. My son's personal best with that filled over half a bucket with FULL-SIZE bars. It was excellent.
@mikey Also, heads up for the forum gods, I tried pasting in this link (without the spaces) initially and it broke the "convert a pasted link into an image" function.
@sammydog01 They're great too! But again, I've only seen them in the tiny form factor from Disney. I feel like all our Walgreens and CVS candy selections are terrible.
@mikey Interestingly enough, Amazon image URLs with the odd underscores in them (that the preprocessor is seeing as markdown italic formatting) seem to work if you strip out the underscores. Or encode underscores as %5F.
@koalamoo - Haha. You and Oregonians and Wyomingites and Texans and So Carolinians.
I live in Washington, and I've never even tried Air Heads, but I'm from Calif and I love Life Savers. At least until they changed out the lime and lemon ones in the 5 flavor pack. :-(
@KDemo In my life so far, I've lived in Hawaii, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Tenessee. I am fond of 100 Grand bars and Whoppers, but candy corn is at the bottom of my snacking list.
@KDemo I am much more comfortable with your suggestion. A cold shiver ran down my spine at the idea of this little Westie venturing anywhere near the east coast.
@sammydog01 - Well when you're hopelessly lost in a life raft in the Pacific, and the only available sustenance is a roll of delicious hard candy, NO LifeSavers for you!!
what is Arizona doing being fancy af though? agreed that Oreos are not candy and no surprise that West Virginia thinks they are. New Hampshire and all the candy corn states are boring af. live a little, huh?
@Lotsofgoats There are other Halloween deals on there still good. All the Halloween candy is on sale. Some better deal then others. Look at this one. or look around to find others. Probably best bet is to hit up your local box stores and see what's left. One year I got bags of Dove fall themed chocolates way cheap after Halloween cause they wanted to move in the Christmas stuff.
reese's peanut butter cups
@sohmageek You do put them in the freezer before you eat them right ? Nothing better than a Reese's cup than a frozen Reese's cup. If you really want to go crazy, mash it up and mix it with some ice cream.
@sohmageek Give me the peanut butter pumpkins. I'm festive.
Not these...
but I'm sure someone likes it...
@sohmageek Sounds vomitous
@sohmageek I also saw Cadbury's Scream Eggs in the store recently. Easter needs to stay the hell out of Halloween.
@djslack Actually, I like those, since at this point I've eaten my Easter stash. They're green in the middle instead of egg-colored. Mildly repulsive, but if you've got the love of the Cadbury eggs in your heart, you can still eat right through it.
@koalamoo Repulsive is in the spirit of the season. I like the green ones too.
Anything which I... liberate from my younger family members in the "lemme just make sure everything in your trick-or-treat bag is okay for you to eat" check.
That's, uh, a singular answer, yeah?
@goldenthorn i don't know, I better ea--I mean check that out to make sure it's OK before I can vote for it.
@goldenthorn when you have kids its known as the"daddy tax"
@goldenthorn We had a generous child, who would pick you out one or two of your favorite pieces and give them to you. However, we finally admitted to our teenage son that yes, we ate more out of his bucket after he went to bed. He was mad, and didn't accept our "Circle of Life" explanation that his grandparents had done this to us, and he'd do it if he had kids someday... :)
@koalamoo Never, never own up to that.
@beachbum Agreed - it is like telling someone where you buried a body. Just. Don't. Talk.
I love sprinkles . . .
@Pavlov oh crap..my husband promised not to post that!
@Pavlov
@Pavlov
@Thumperchick I totally came here to say titty sprinkles!
Snickers. The big bars.
I'm not going to discuss blowing candy, but last year after Halloween I discovered Caramel Apple Twizzlers. They are pretty terrific.
@djslack - Star for blow the candy, not for the twizzlers. Red twizzlers FTW.
The best Halloween candy is 50% off on November 1st.
Reese's cups and Kit Kats
you're welcome
caramel
or hot tamales
because some like it hot
@Cerridwyn I prefer Mike and Ike's.
@thismyusername Right or left, though?
Because fuck those tiny Halloween single ones, they're so tiny it seems like it takes 17 of them to equate to a retail Twix.
Those little peanut butter taffy candies wrapped in the black & orange wax papers, can't remember what they're called!
@emt305 Mary Janes
@emt305 Ewwww. Those and circus peanuts were always the first to hit the trash.
Hey @sohmageek, this guy makes caramel animals. Here he is blowing a cock. ...
Baby Ruuuuuuuuuuuuth!
@2many2no Peanuts and Candy Corn, taste exactly the same...
Bottle Caps. As a kid I only ever saw them at Halloween so they were a special treat haha
@stardate820926 I still buy them occasion. They need to come out with a box with just cola and root beer.
The best candy is also when you caught that adult who'd had enough of handing out candy to the snotnosed brats, and just tipped everything they had left in your bucket so they could be done for the evening. My son's personal best with that filled over half a bucket with FULL-SIZE bars. It was excellent.
I am boring, my favorite candies are candy corn and smarties.
@conandlibrarian -You're not boring, you're sweet.
@conandlibrarian what's wrong with you ? Has no one ever given you any chocolate to try ? Try it. You'll be much happier.
@conandlibrarian American smarties or Canadian smarties?
I just love it when kids find my candy house in the woods and stop by.
Didn't work out so well for me in the end though.
@mfladd Looks like this year you're going to have a goat problem!
@dashcloud This right here is where I'm pushing that little witch @mfladd
@jaremelz young goat, I will feast on your bones in the barn dining room with a good chianti
@mfladd Bitch, guess which one you are
@jaremelz this one
@mfladd Bitch, please
Spree
@ThatsHeadly only chewy Spree
@mfladd
Mini candy bars. You have a pile of candy bars one minute, then just a pile of wrappers the next minute.
"They are soo tiny, I only had 15"
Dark Chocolate Kit Kats. For some reason, Disney Trick-or-Treat is the only time I ever see them.
@mikey Have you tried those Midnight Milky Ways? They're pretty good too.
@mikey Also, heads up for the forum gods, I tried pasting in this link (without the spaces) initially and it broke the "convert a pasted link into an image" function.

Here's what the forum tries to do with it:

@sammydog01 They're great too! But again, I've only seen them in the tiny form factor from Disney. I feel like all our Walgreens and CVS candy selections are terrible.
@mikey I went grocery shopping this morning. They had them in a mix, but I'll pick them out and give the others to the kids.
@mikey Interestingly enough, Amazon image URLs with the odd underscores in them (that the preprocessor is seeing as markdown italic formatting) seem to work if you strip out the underscores. Or encode underscores as

.@brhfl So is this a @shawn ping? Any idea who handles the forum software, @thumperchick?
@mikey Definitely @shawn - but also @katylava & @harrison
It's something about the way the underscores next to the periods annoy the embed function.
@Thumperchick You're the best! Thanks!
I like the Zero candy bar. It does not get enough respect!
@dhuttenm There's a reason for that.
@sammydog01 No, I liked Zero bars!
@dhuttenm - How much respect does it get, exactly?
(please note this is a straight line)
@dhuttenm White chocolate gets more than enough respect. It shouldn't be in anything.
I remember this guy. I loved Marathon bars.
@sammydog01 They are not as long, but taste just the way I remember marathon (perhaps even better).

@thismyusername I generally don't really eat candy, but I feel I must try this…
@thismyusername OMG! I forgot about those! I loved those when I lived in Australia.
I had one of these for the first time today:
It was wonderful.
@KDemo Actual Tennesseeans would like to refute the validity of this study.
@KDemo According to this, I should live in Vermont. East coast....noooooo.
Not to mention, everything @sohmageek has said about how hard it is to obtain, well, anything!
@jaremelz - East Coast can't have you!! Maybe we should try bringing the candy to you, not you to the candy ;-)
@KDemo I am much more comfortable with your suggestion. A cold shiver ran down my spine at the idea of this little Westie venturing anywhere near the east coast.
@jaremelz Just stay away from those life savers-eating Californians. Losers.
@sammydog01 - Well when you're hopelessly lost in a life raft in the Pacific, and the only available sustenance is a roll of delicious hard candy, NO LifeSavers for you!!
@sammydog01 As a life-savers loving born in California goat, I must disagree!
@KDemo Since when are Oreos candy?
@brhfl Sorry in advance -
Candy Cane Oreos
S’moreos
Cotton Candy Oreos, and
Sorry if anyone threw up there, I did too.
@brhfl - Alternately, Broccoli Oreos:
@koalamoo I agree. As a Tennesseean, I'd like to dispute this. No one likes Candy Corn. No one.
@KDemo Pennsylvania should have Hershey's because duh. That's where they are HQ'd. The street lamps in Hershey PA are Kisses : )
I blame @Jaremelz
@ceagee No, blame Hershey's for moving their production out of Pennsylvania (and other states) to Mexico.
@jaremelz I've heard that the Almond Joy is Vermonters favorite... Maybe cause they are mostly NUTS! ;)
@narfcake I blame Hershey for removing the Canyon River Rapids (my favorite water ride)
@KDemo oh I missed this! I'm good with SweeTarts.
what is Arizona doing being fancy af though?
agreed that Oreos are not candy and no surprise that West Virginia thinks they are.
New Hampshire and all the candy corn states are boring af. live a little, huh?
BoingBoing is doing their annual "official Hallowe'en Candy Hierarchy" here:
https://boingboing.net/2015/10/23/only-you-can-determine-what-to.html
So this is my favorite kind of candy... Cheap as hell... http://slickdeals.net/f/8215797-5-huge-candy-bags-halloween-candy-clearance?v=1&src=pdw
@sohmageek that's too dangerous.
@hollboll ... You're saying don't ship 30 lbs of candy? No.. 30 is vulgar!
@sohmageek I mean... I'm not saying not to ship it. I'm just pointing out that it's dangerous. ;)
@sohmageek I see a sincere lack of chocolate in there, I'm safe.
@sohmageek y so sold out :((((((((((
@Lotsofgoats There are other Halloween deals on there still good. All the Halloween candy is on sale. Some better deal then others.
Look at this one. or look around to find others.
