GUMBALL!
9One of two movies about the cross country race released in 1976. Not an amazing movie but fun to watch.
The actual race the movie was based on.

“That which is behind us does not matter.”
“England is a damp country.”
By comparison, the “Burt Reynolds Sure Is Purty” ripoff that was called “The Cannonball Run” was a Cheez-Wizzy shitshow with loads of big names who probably all regretted appearing in the credits.
@werehatrack Sadly I’m not sure I ever saw Gumball but definitely remember Cannonball. Even as a kid I thought it was a pretty stupid movie but had some fun moments. Yeah a whole lot of stars of the time ended up in it for some unknown reason.
@pmarin @werehatrack Cannonball is a different movie than The Cannonball Run. Cannonball is the other 1976 movie I was talking about in my post.
Cannonball - Starring David and Robert Carradine.
@pmarin @yakkoTDI Oh. That thing. Gumball was better. In fact, I’m not entirely sure that the Burt Reynolds atrocity wasn’t better as well. No, I take that back, a root canal was better than The Cannonball Run.
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI Oops, didn’t mean “Cannonball” but I meant “The Cannonball Run” with Burt Reynolds and a dozen other regretful stars of the previous decade. Didn’t know there was a Robert Carradine movie at same time.
I love this movie for two reasons: Cobra and Daytona Spyder. Petrolheads will know.
@toycardriver Cobra as in Shelby Cobra?
@lisagd @toycardriver Yes.

In the theater alone, I have watched this move like 11 times. I loved this movie. The funny thing was to watch the scene where Michael and the Professor are pulling out of a gas station in the Cobra (A real one) and seeing the gas for like 55 Cents a gallon.
