Got any travel plans?
4We finally got Mom moved to my sister’s house so we have been on the road a good bit lately.
In the past 2 months we:
Drove from central AL to KC then flew home. (one week)
Went to ATL for Thanksgiving (4 days)
Flew to Pittsburgh for a visit with our son (5 days)
Drove to upstate Virginia near the Shenandoah NP. (7 days)
What about you… any travel plans?

Drove 1084 miles in 2 days through mostly rain, dodging 5 car accidents, one of which I was nearly in as it happened immediately in front of me, now here until driving back the 29th and 30th.
@Kidsandliz
Yuck… driving in rain sux. Glad you ‘dodged the bullet’ and hope the trip home is more relaxing. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I traveled all the way to the kitchen which is the furthest I can get away from my desk.
@yakkoTDI so that tells me that your kitchen is further away from your desk than your bathroom
@Cerridwyn Desk is in my bedroom and so is the bathroom. The condo is a rectangle and the desk is in the Southwest corner and the kitchen is in the Northeast corner.
@yakkoTDI It’s as far as you can safely go without having to put on pants, anyway.
I wish I could have the privilege of flying on an airplane to anywhere more often than I get to (about once every 3-4 years if I’m lucky).
@PooltoyWolf Sounds like you should consider a career change. To flight attendant, at least.

@PooltoyWolf
what did you do to get on the No Fly list ??
@chienfou Huh…?
@PooltoyWolf
Just figured that must be how you lost your travel privilege!
Had any train trips lately?
@chienfou No, I just can’t afford airfare. It’s not cheap! Only trains I ride with any regularity (for the same reason) is SunRail.
Drove bunches of miles. Will drive more.
Poor miles. Poor me.
/image keep in trucking
I am a travelaholic, always something booked. Early November was www.thesands.rocks then Houston for turkey day then Orlando and Nashville for work in early December. On leap day I embark on www.the80scruise.com and then June is 2 weeks in Italy/Greece. I am sure other short jaunts will arise. All of my expendable cash goes to live music and/or travel.
@cbilyak you board after I get off same ship, but I will returning from the Trek cruise.
@cbilyak @werehatrack
That’s so cool, looks like a good time! ENJOY!
@cbilyak
‘80’s cruise?
@cbilyak Color Me Jealous!! That paragraph sounds nothing short of awesome!!
VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
@werehatrack oh cool!! ECP does a great job with the full emersion experience! Have a blast!
@f00l yep! It is a week full of 1980’s music and nostalgia. So Much Fun!
@cbilyak
I know what you mean about being travel junkies. Have fun on the cruise and Italy/Greece trip. Loved our visits to Greece in the past.
We are going to N Italy (Milan, Pisa, Florence, Cinque Terre, Venice) for 2 weeks in Feb/March, then just local stuff (<300miles) until mid-July when we do a one week river cruise from Amsterdam to Basel then 1 week in Switzerland and 2 weeks tooling around seeing family in France…
Year will wrap up with a barefoot cruise in the Carib over New Years…
Yes - to avoid it entirely.
@macromeh
sorry for your loss…
Ugh - driving back Saturday and Sunday. Rain rain go away and dump your shit on meh instead of me.
I drove into the office today.
Well… Not into the office. Onto the parking lot at the office.
