Unless I'm building a BT speaker collection (which I'm not) there's no reason for me to pry a ten-spot from my wallet for today's offer. It's just a ball. Booooring! Makes me miss that futuristic spaceship speaker dock that I passed a few years ago (regrettably). If it's going to be goofy-looking then I want to see a really goofy-looking BT speaker, so I vote Meh.
@Kerig3 that is BEAUTIFUL. I always wanted to get the "Creature" which I heard and fell in love with at a Macy's. But @Kerig3 not a ball, but a "Cat Toy with Built-In Phone
I got a couple of these on sale for about $12 a piece new on Amazon a few years ago (as Easter basket stuffers, appropriately enough). I'd pass on these. The spherical form factor is really inconvenient and bulky, and the sound quality is not good. It gets loud, but it's just a single mono woofer -- loud midrange sound with no decent highs or lows. If you're looking for something louder than a standard jambox with good battery life this is OK I guess, but the sound quality is not good.
IMNSHO, the meh-ster bunny really laid an egg with this one...or is that dropped a pellet? In any case, no, I don't live in the orange OR pink house...;)
Considering the write up, I'm surprised the video of the day didn't show @moose showing us how to mask the grill and buttons and spray paint this thing black. Maybe next time it's up for sale?
@InspectorGadget Pro tip- get the VMP for 5 bucks, it's the same as shipping. Cancel later if you feel the need. Also, if you cancel and haven't bought anything for a month they refund the five bucks. And they may send you a free present! But probably not.
Received my ugly ball today. The sound is meh compared to my little Shark speaker, but it will serve its purpose. It came in a nice box and has a cool carrying pouch.
Ugly arrived here as well. The more I look at them, the more hideous they become. They do pair easily and sound okay though. And the kids think they are cool. Glad I got two of them so each kid can add a little more ugly to their rooms. :)
I got mine today. Amazed with the sound and how easily it paired. I might have a slight obsession with BT speakers. I will for sure buy more if they come around again!! Rock the BT!!
Meh has lied to me! Mine arrived, but it doesn't charge via mini-USB, and it doesn't have a mini-USB to USB charging cable. In fact, mine doesn't have a mini-USB port at all. Its product diagram shows that it charges via the AUX port, and it came with a USB-to-AUX cable and an AUX-AUX cable. It's being charged now, and I haven't tried pairing it yet. Did I get a different model than everybody else?
@OldCatLady Looks like Amazon lied and Meh passed it on (the photos on Meh seem to be from Amazon.com). Mine only has an Aux jack on the speaker, no mini-USB jack. And the cables are both Aux (USB>Aux charging and Aux>Aux).
These sound much worse than the meh reference speaker (the JBL Mini dock).
When connected via bluetooth: They don't sound that great... if you go into the EQ on your device and ramp up the bass they do sound ok... I am sure these would be great for talk podcasts and perhaps even as a speaker phone (although the voice audio quality has the bluetooth mangle to it).
When connected via aux: They do sound better, clearly the bluetooth mangle is great with these speakers... when connected via aux in the bass is more pronounced, but still no comparison to the JBL Mini.
which brings me to the major flaw:
Since they sound better via aux in one would think this would be a decent little computer speaker (use a y splitter and use 2 of them for stereo for example)... but they seem to charge via the very same aux in 3.5mm port that you would have the audio connected to... which means every 10 hours of use you would need to disconnect them and re-charge them... not ideal.
ps: They are indeed ugly in person, it is like they took a grafiti wall with zero Banksies and wrapped them into a sphere.
The price I think they are worth: $5 each (or less).
I explained to meh customer service how the writeup was wrong, and Erica very kindly replied immediately 'Yup, you’re correct. We’ll update the specs for the future, if we ever sell this again. :)' I still think that every fuko will have one of these included. I must be the only person who doesn't think they're ugly, but then I grew up in the 60s with Peter Max and his imitators all over the place.
Ordered one ugly speaker, received one hilariously, staggeringly, mind-bendingly ugly speaker. Sound quality is on par with the $7 price. Charging via easily-lost oddball USB-to-headphone-jack cable is the one serious mark against it - it's just a matter of time until I lose this cable and go from owning a hilariously ugly speaker to owning a hilariously ugly paperweight.

I was wondering where the thread was for today's item. It must be really, really bad. Perhaps as bad as it is ugly.
It's like an Easter egg gone very wrong. I had to get one, too.
It's meh day time that's all -- course that meant I was "meh int" to buy one
I already have one of those orange square speakers they sold sometime last year
@Kevin get it a friend?
"GOgroove QEMRO GGQAMQD100BLUS"
I believe if we all say that 10 times fast we will summon the very spirit of Harold Bluetooth himself.
Needs more vivid colors.
@Alien
@awk I am so thinking of Cheech and Chong right now.
@awk Oooh. Aaah.
Now more cowbell.
Some more details over at newegg, no reviews however.

How does the sound compare to https://meh.com/deals/disposable-bluetooth-speaker ?
Last?

Is this a refurbished forum thread?
I bought two on the hunch they will sound decent (well and the price... keep those down like this ).
I wonder if some fusion spray paint would improve this design.

@haskins187 so what you're saying is it is no JBL Mini?

Buy this speaker. Have a ball.
C'mon... Get 'round to it....
Using my sphere of influence.... You buy three.
Why did I just buy this?
@InspectorGadget are you secretly a magpie?
@InspectorGadget Because-
Wait, where's your VMP badge? You didn't pay $15, did you?
@TexMehx No I am not (just had to google magpie). I actually will use this quite a bit, but only when alone. It is crazy looking, no?
@sammydog01 Newbie here...first purchase...still feeling it out.

@sammydog01 hey thanks, I didn't know that's how it works. I'll definitely do that.
Thinking about painting it. But I don't really need a new project.
Cool, I'll bite. Can't say no to $15 for a bluetooth speaker.
My miraculously-curvy-monk appears to have been decorated for Easter, if anybody cares (@lisaviolet @mikibell @barney @jaremelz @beachbum @hollboll @Foxborn @LaVikinga :
@OldCatLady I got harsh-fragile-language. Anyone a fan of LeBron James?
@OldCatLady I don't know about eggs, but my ovaries just exploded.
@sammydog01 He comes up on my search too, but I have no idea why. They both sort of match the speaker?
@OldCatLady Oh, wow! Happy Easter!
@OldCatLady That beats my chocolate bunny by a mile........................................is it hot in here?
....but if only i could attach it to my bike. or my BB-8 that watches my bike while i by things at the bodega
Only 630 sold at $10... looks some some fukus are gonna be ugly this time around.
newbie here, how long is the order status supposed to be stuck at "Processing"?
@Zombieket You will always find this in the description: Estimated Delivery: 4/4 - 4/6
Often they will be at your door before that.
My ugly ball has shipped!!
My ugly is here. This is the single most hideous object that I have ever voluntarily purchased. Well played, Meh!
I am contemplating going seriously girly and covering it with fine net tied with a bow. Pink, of course.
Sounds OK for what it is. I got 2 and use them as PC speakers via y splitter.

@OldCatLady Same here- I often charge and use the aux in at the same time, and I can't do it with this.

@OldCatLady same... the aux in is also the charging port... NOW we know why these landed here.
