Goatoshop, Feb 27: The Enabler (PSA)
10I just thought it fun that on the penultimate day of my goatdom, Amazon would go an offer a deal on Photoshop Elements. If, on the very rare chance, my stupid mash-ups this month inspired anyone to pick up Photoshop and try it for themselves, this is a good way to get started.
Physical and download versions, $59.99.

Of course that’s not the only option out there. Everyone has a favorite opensource alternative. Why not share and post your favorite free version here for future reference?
Until tomorrow…

No subscription required, that’s cool! If I was going to buy some software in the creative category, I’d go for Illustrator, but they still make you subscribe to get the latest version of that, so I just use Inkscape.
Still getting by with MS Paint:
The obvious choice for cheapskates like me:

@medz It’s not just for the frugally minded. Adobe products tend to be grossly overpriced.
A neat looking free package I found recently is Gravit Designer (https://designer.io/). Not so much a direct Photoshop replacement but it looks very powerful for all kinds of visual work.
