Have been told by more than one optometrist: The UV protection is not in the glass on many devices off-the-rack sunglasses, as it would be with prescription lenses. It’s a light coating that wears off quickly (a few months or so) even with careful use and handling.
Then lens is still dark, but with essentially no UV protection after that. Which means a wearer’s eyes are slightly dilated behind the darkened lens, and get even more UV than if no sunglasses at all.

Found a decent listing for the Nexus 5X on eBay for $275. 32Gb, and near mint condition.
So why the blame?
Because;
I have a 10% eBay bucks offer expiring in roughly an hour, and there’s no way that the seller would agree to the offer I made, thus getting the phone down quite a bit, along with getting 2 eBay gift cards emailed to me within that time.
Otherwise, with the 10% earned in eBay Bucks, along with Cashback from topcashback, along with the gift cards, I’d be paying less than $125 for the phone (even if we compromised at $250).
So you get a blame that this didn’t happen.

I’ve got some fresh blame for @ignorant, it can even span several weeks. I TiVo’ed the MacGyver reboot so I could binge watch it this weekend. It really kinda sucks. So that makes two new 2016 shows that blow big green chunks. MacGyver and Frequency. I can only hope Timeless will make up for it.

I caught a couple of minutes of an episode of MacGyver last night. I don’t think I’m putting it on my watch list.
@PlacidPenguin The IMDB ratings which for new shows usually skew wildly to the high side have MacGyver a 4.4 today. A glance through the discussion board for it confirms my impressions of the show.
I stay away from IMDB for movies and shows before I watch them to avoid spoilers and preconceptions and in this case, after watching two episodes the unwashed masses confirmed my feelings about this POS show.
It’s still on @ignorant’s watch so the blame rests squarely there.
On one hand, it’s raining here in SoCal, so have an unblame, @ignorant. OTOH, it raining here and there’s a roof repair that I need to finish, so have a blame, @ignorant.

Gosh I wish there was a goat around to blame.
I was climbing some outdoor stairs next to an interstate access road. Heard major tire screech. Turned to watch as two cars tried to destroy each other. They failed, barely, by inches.
Only my flip-flip caught the edge of the next stair and I tumbled forward and even tho I kinda caught self w hands, my right forehead and cheekbone got smacked good. Enuf to hurt for a good 10 min. Doesn’t hurt now, But: am busy pressing ice to face and anticipating my coming gorgeous bruiseface and black eye with joy.
And the explanations I’ll have to hand out:

@sammydog01 well for one I bought seconds so they didn’t cost me that full amount and for two I used to be in your boat, then I worked for a company that carried them in our retail store, got a pair gratis, and realized that they were both a superior product to the $10 pairs I used to wear and, resulting from the higher monetary value thereof, lasted far longer than any of my $10 pairs did because I paid close attention to them and took care of them. My prior pair lasted me over five years and if she hadn’t wrecked them my new one would have been kept just as long barring any disaster. It’s not like I’m some fashion obsessed twerp with 50 pairs of the things, I buy one pair and take good care of them.

I don’t know anything about the expensive brand your Mom messed up. But beware non-prescription sunglasses for long term use unless you check the lenses on a specific brand.
Have been told by more than one optometrist: The UV protection is not in the glass on many devices off-the-rack sunglasses, as it would be with prescription lenses. It’s a light coating that wears off quickly (a few months or so) even with careful use and handling.
Then lens is still dark, but with essentially no UV protection after that. Which means a wearer’s eyes are slightly dilated behind the darkened lens, and get even more UV than if no sunglasses at all.
