Goat Day 8 - Movie review
9It’s Friday, and it’s cold, and I don’t have to work, and I can’t remember the last time I had a Friday off, so I decided to go to the movies. The movie doesn’t start for about 30 minutes. Be sure to check back for the review of “Glass.”
Or, if you want a review of a different movie, you have some time to make suggestions.

Did you like The VVitch? Black Philip was the only good thing about that movie and apparently he was a total shit with no proper animal training for movies.

@RiotDemon Didn’t see it, but I’ll check it out.
@eonfifty apparently a lot of people loved it. I thought it was boring. It’s up there with Apostle, Blair Witch, etc. Not my genre I guess.
@RiotDemon I didn’t see those either. I might check them out.
@RiotDemon I watched “The VVitch.” I can’t say if I watched the whole thing because I liked it, or if I just couldn’t look away.
@eonfifty when I was about halfway through it I figured I might as well just stick around to find out what happens. The closest I ever got to walking out of a movie theater was with Blair witch. I was just so sick from the shaky handheld camera footage. at home I’ve gotten better about checking reviews before I watch random movies on Netflix. There’s just been so many bad ones once I get half way I feel like I’m compelled to watch the rest. Then I feel like I just wasted so much time. I watched apostle mainly because I like the main actor in the movie. It ended up being pretty boring, even though it was fairly gory.
@RiotDemon I’m learning to stop watching through Netflix selections I’m getting bored with. In the past I’d finish watching a movie if I got a third or so in to it, but now, whatever. I can finish it later, or not.
Am I the only one who thinks M. Night Shyamalan hasn’t made a decent movie since The Sixth Sense? I feel like I should be cheering for the hometown guy (he grew up 10 minutes from me), but I generally hate his movies.
@cinoclav was Signs before or after?
/google did the sixth sense or signs come out first?

As interesting as that article was, it didn’t answer my question. 2002 was Signs.
@cinoclav You’re not the only one. With a little quibbling, you have what I believe is the most common opinion of the guy.
The Sixth Sense was good.
Unbreakable wasn’t quite as good.
Signs was alright until you thought about it.
And then there are very few defenders of any movie he has made for the next decade.
He surprised a lot of people a couple of years ago when Split came out. I still haven’t seen it, but it has generally favorable reviews.
@cinoclav Unbreakable is one of my favorite movies ever. I just loved the “realistic” approach to a superhero origin story. And Split, tying in the universe 17 year later, was just too much joy for me to have in an end-scene reveal. I was downright giddy. I’ve enjoyed some of his movies enough – he has some real turds on his resume though.
Liked (in no particular order):
Disliked:
@cinoclav I generally liked all that I’ve seen. I wasn’t sure about “The Village,” but upon reconsideration, I think it’s pretty good.
@cinoclav @Limewater I didn’t see “Split” either, but it didn’t seem to matter for “Glass.” I don’t think you even had to see “Unbreakable” either.
@cinoclav @eonfifty @Limewater Split made me unreasonably angry. James McAvoy was great. I couldn’t relate to the girls.
@ACraigL @cinoclav
The only one I’ve seen is Unbreakable, which I enjoyed considerably.
@ACraigL @cinoclav for Airbender we watched the entire series with our then-8 and 12 yr old sons. All 4 of us loved the cartoon. All 4 of us disliked the movie.

Movie review: “Glass”
@eonfifty Out of?
@sammydog01 Two.

@eonfifty
I seriously think the only Pomeranian dog movie is Blade Trinity, which we’ve talked about before. I also love Pomeranians.
On a slightly different topic I need a movie suggestion.
I finally had enough recycling points to trade for one movie ticket at regal theaters. I haven’t been to a movie theater in probably 18 or so years, don’t have netfix, don’t have all those fancy cable TV movie channels, any TV movie I see has to be on one of the basic air broadcast channels…I know I could go look online for what is free or bootlegged but haven’t bothered… what’s left in the house are kids and teen DVD’s and VHS’s… I don’t even keep up on what is out there (yeah I know pitiful) but now I have a chance to break my
no click the movie meh facedon’t go to movies streak.@Kidsandliz when does your pass expire? What movie genres do you like?
@Kidsandliz The one with the longest run time.
@Kidsandliz Or the Lego Movie 2.
@RiotDemon I think I have at least a month. I like all sorts of stuff. Science fiction (but not fantasy, nor the kind that are cartoonish), adventure, spy, some kids stuff, , some murder mystery stuff, interesting stories… preferably movies where there is a significant plot that doesn’t rely on romance and sex to keep the movie moving forward…
@eonfifty Wha to get the most movie minutes for my money?
@eonfifty Does it make sense if you haven’t seen lego 1 and have no idea what it is about other than I presume animated lego toys?
@Kidsandliz
/image exactamundo
@Kidsandliz IDK, but if you haven’t been to the movies in two decades, it probably doesn’t matter what you see.
/image doesn’t matter
@eonfifty @Kidsandliz I probably wouldn’t see it without watching the first one.
