@yakkoTDI Since one of the most prominent failures in the event was the refusal of the vehicles to even pass one another when there was one off course and out of the race, it would be the first non-contact demo derby, and might take a while to reach a conclusion.
I knew when the metal was playing that car was going to stop… The only thing that didn’t happen was a record scratch sound effect.
God coming down to call everyone losers was a highlight as well.
That is simultaneously impressive (especially given that they only had 2 months?) and a complete shitshow. Really could have used a couple of testing weekends off camera from the looks of things. Clearly from the attack and defend segment and the number of unprompted wall entrances the “don’t hit things” code is optional. If only they can tone down the “elderly Canadian driver stopping at a roundabout to say ‘you first’” factor we might have something.
@djslack They needed to hand over the development for the software to the people who do the Micromouse competitions. Now, that would have been effing amazing, with F1 cars zipping around on optimized paths seeking fastest transits.
Can you say “Not ready for first-round alpha testing”? Sure, I knew you could.
I wonder if these would do well in a demolition derby.
