I think the description may be wrong. This does not seem to be a Ginsu set in any way. The box does not say it. The linked Amazon page does not say it. And the knives do not seem to have the unusual Ginsu serrations.
@PSUClaus1@bdb Quikut allegedly make the Ginsu knives as well. I bought this set in a previous sale. It might not be a bad thing to give to people who a setting up a house…they’re kind of cheapo for a wedding present. I do use them, but more out of a sense of obligation than need. They do have sharp edges.
@medz I followed your link, and some of those links, and to me, it looks like it is very likely the same company, as @PSUClaus1 noted. But I am not seeing the name Ginsu as part of the product name anywhere but here.
@bdb Fortunately, we have a procedure in place for that. :clears throat: :ahem:
My bad, so sorry things aren’t to your satisfaction. Please don’t let this one, very isolated incident of a bungled write-up on meh colour your over-all opinion of the website. Again, very, very sorry for your inconvenience.
@therealjrn@matthew said something along the lines that these small issues are not problems, but rather opportunities for valuable customer - employee interactions, leading to futher evolution of the unique atmosphere of mediocre and the forums.
I opened this randomly vefore sleeping, and I think I was the first to buy. I’ve been shopping for a knife block and I figured 10 bucks for one was decent. I can use the knives as toys.
Sooo - I’m glad I checked these out before giving them as an el cheapo gift. Half the knives are bent, like they were molded into the handle crooked. Amusingly angled like WTF China level.
Since the intended recipient still needs knives, these will be given, unwrapped, with a statement of 'These are crap but some are salvageable and there is the block.'
If the intended recipient had more that 3, well abused, 20 yr old kitchen knives, I’d try to return these but meh.

@medz Wow, I’m feeling better about them now.
@medz I am tired, so it is probably me, but I don’t see anything different in your link than at Amazon.

@medz agreed - quikut knives by the Ginsu company. Thanks for the help finding the exact explanation.
“Wood grain”
I’ll take the 20 silicone bra inserts in various sizes!
If I keep staring at this, I’m gonna buy it.
So, gniite everyone. See ya in the morning.
At this price they make good picnic and away-from-home bbq knives. You lose one, you’re out fifty cents.
Are the meh hockey pucks included?
