Did the time stamps on posts just change to all Eastern times, or has it been a while? Some say eastern, some do not. As if I’m not confused enough, here on the Left Coast.

That’s nothing. China has one timezone when it should span six. That makes things more efficient, but seems strange for the farmers that get up with the sun at 3:00 AM.
China crosses 5 time zones, but most people live in two contiguous time zones, so it is more convenient to use the same time zone and have the same schedule. Xinjiang is different. Xinjiang is located in GMT+6 Time Zone, meaning Xinjiang time is 2 hours later than Beijing time.
on that time zone map, what’s that little splotch in the middle of Arizona?
the land that time forgot?
some ass backward region that uses it’s own god damn time system?(no govt is gonna tell ME what time it is!..)
a coloring error?
@earlyre My best guess is that it’s the Hopi reservation… which almost starts to make sense, but if that’s true it’s like they half-thought out that chunk of map. If anything, Arizona should be a different color (or called out somehow), as they don’t do DST. But a chunk of Arizona up in the NE corner is Navajo nation, and they do do DST. But inside Navajo nation is the Hopi reservation, and they also don’t do DST.
@earlyre - TBH, I chose that particular map for its purpleness. I noticed the anomaly in Arizona as well and wondered if it was Area 51, or a spot on my monitor. @brhfl’s answer makes sense to keep in mind the next time you need to start a conversation or play a trivia game.
It’s always been Eastern time.
@narfcake Ah, thanks. I guess I never noticed that it said Eastern. Weird.
TIL - There are other time zones which exist.
@PlacidPenguin EAST COAST BEST COAST
I want a different time zone. The sun set at 4:12 pm today.

@brhfl what’s really funny is that there’s also a chunk of the Navajo land surrounded by Hopi land. It’s reservationception!
There is a part of indiana that doesn’t do daylight savings time so switched time zones depending on time of year
