If we are calling the disc part an attachment, then the shredder/grater. I don’t use the food processor much, but when I do it’s usually to shred lots of something. Like cheese or zucchini.
Personally, I’ve never developed an attachment to a food processor. I am somewhat attached to my coffee maker and microwave, but they have warm personalities. Food processors are just cold and grating.
Has anyone used their food processor to make cauliflower rice? I’ve been buying it in huge frozen packages from Costco; it’s amazingly good and one friend was shocked when I told him there was no actual rice in it. Not doing keto, just trying to up my veggie consumption.
I’m a gadget geek who loves to cook, so yes. I have the things.
I’ve had my KitchenAid mixer for close to 20 years and it won’t die. I want it to die because I like new things, but it is stubborn. Like me.
My attachments from most used to least:
Pasta extruder (my bucatini is awesome), pasta roller (for those times you need fettucine), meat grinder (sausage party), Spiralizer (mostly used in the summer with fresh zucchini, butter and parm) and the slicer/shredder. I think that was an impulse buy from here.
There is no room for rent on top of my fridge. The sous vide machine is subletting some space with the cast iron pans.
edit - well shit… I thought this was about stand mixer attachments. Dammit.
No. I have a food processor that I hate to clean so it doesn’t see a lot of action.
I use the shredder. Not all the time, but it comes in clutch if I’ve got a lot of cheese to grate. I’ve used the slicer, too, but I also have a mandolin, so that’s usually fewer steps.
Mainly use the power cord thingy attachment.
Food processor goes brrrrrrrr.
Do you have to use the food processor to use the attachments? Umm… Maybe I shouldn’t ask that question of Meh.
Isn’t everything that you attach to it an attachment?

I use them all. I am attachment non-specific, and proud of it.
Does my hand and a cheese grater count as a food processor? If so what would be considered an attachment?

I use the shredder attachment for cole slaw. Mostly use the food processor for making hummus, just the blade.

@Kyeh I did once. It wasn’t bad, just more time consuming and messy than buying the frozen stuff.
@remo28 Ohhh … but cheaper, I assume?

@jitc I prefer the ukulele to slice
