And now I want a nice MLT. Not that I ever don’t want a nice MLT. Miracle Max was right about that. A gyro would work. Heck, I could eat lamb’s tongue. You ever had lamb’s tongue? It’s wonderful. It has a tender texture, but you can just keep chewing and chewing, and the flavor just flows out across your tongue as you do. I had it the first time in Japan. This little buffet outside Sendai, with a massive wall of different kinds of meats. I’d fasted the day before, and had just a spoonful of peanut butter for breakfast to start the juices flowing. The only time I have eaten anywhere near as much meat was the time I had 3 lbs of bacon, and that was still a distant second.
@simplersimon I like a good BLOAT: Bacon, lettuce, onion, avocado, tomato sandwich, preferably on toasted sourdough.
Lamb’s Tongue? Don’t want to eat anything that’s gonna taste me back. What about a nice Lamb’s Ear instead?
@LaVikinga 1)that sounds wonderful. 2)bacon is a pig’s butt, so you can’t really judge meat by its origin. 3) I don’t think that is technically a succulent, but they are fun plants to pet.
The cutest succulents are Pachyphytum compactum and Pachyphytum oviferum. Oh and there is one that looks like bear paws! Windowed Haworthias are nice too but really I just want to eat them.
@RiotDemon i was thinking this was the poll for me! (Forgive me not knowing how to do this link right, @Thumperchick feel free to fix and/or inform me)
Thanks Meh!
@hchavers it depends on which part you’re eating. Prickly pears have edible fruit and pads, the pads are a pretty decent-tasting vegetable, and the fruit are great.
According to my husband, I am forbidden to drink tequila. Ever.
Yes, there’s a story, but let’s just leave it at once I drank a LOT of tequila. I now have an entirely remodeled master bathroom.
Remember Snapple Elements? Rain was agave-flavored. God, that stuff was so good. Until they moved from glass bottles to aluminum, anyway. I don’t know if they changed the recipe, or if it reacted with the metal, or what, but it was never as good after that.
@dannybeans I was trying to think of the Agave drink I used to drink when I was younger - that was it! Image searching it for confirmation brought up some other nice nostalgia - Surge cans and bottles of Orbitz…
The freeze we had in January killed the tall, exotic succulents in the planters I got at a yard. Today I went to clear out the pots, and found many babies already growing. Kalanchoe Daigremontiana, aka Mother of Thousands plant.
So technically, according to this poll, indirectly, in a manner of speaking, my margarita is a salad?

Suck my what?
@awk hassle-free checking suck ya hog
Sedum. Particularly the cultivar “Postman’s Pride”.
I would have said Living Stone, but I haven’t ever grown any. I sure like the pictures I see of them, though. I’d love to have some.
Dragon’s Blood Sedum

@simplersimon This was magnificent. 4 stars. Would read again.

@simplersimon Probably not a succulent (too lazy to google), but their leaves are a tad thicker and ARE kinda nice to pet.
@simplersimon
@RiotDemon so… Bacon is abs. I had that totally wrong.
The cutest succulents are Pachyphytum compactum and Pachyphytum oviferum. Oh and there is one that looks like bear paws! Windowed Haworthias are nice too but really I just want to eat them.
I always overwater succulents. My mom grows some nice aloe though
@kaighintze Aloe from the other side…
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know why we’re doing a succulent poll today. Did I not read the write-up carefully enough?
@UncleVinny Meh wants to make sure we’re all getting our vegetables. Now drink up and stop asking questions…
@UncleVinny because someone needed a reminder to water their plants.
@RiotDemon i was thinking this was the poll for me! (Forgive me not knowing how to do this link right, @Thumperchick feel free to fix and/or inform me)

@mollama did you end up watering your plant?
@Thumperchick yup, thank you
Is a succulent a fruit or vegetable? I am not talking about prickly pears, but maybe we should.
@hchavers it depends on which part you’re eating. Prickly pears have edible fruit and pads, the pads are a pretty decent-tasting vegetable, and the fruit are great.
This was a good poll. I wish I could vote twice, because Jade is a fabulous succulent, but not my forever-fave.
air plants in trees on old cutler road
Lithops, clearly. Look at these charming mothereffers:
@haikiba Ok, that’s pretty sweet, but how do I break up with Haworthia Cooperi?
@haikiba Those are my favorite too. I was about to comment that.
@haikiba I don’t think that’s a Lithops. Based on the flowers I’d say maybe Gibbaeum dispar. Lithops are the butt ones.
Sanseveria - also know as Snake plant or Mother-in-law’s Tongue
Burro’s tail!
According to my husband, I am forbidden to drink tequila. Ever.
Yes, there’s a story, but let’s just leave it at once I drank a LOT of tequila. I now have an entirely remodeled master bathroom.
@LaVikinga I have a repaired bathroom tequila story too. Says something about the effects of tequila, not at all to do with those who drink it.
Baby toes!
How has no one mentioned the Christmas Cactus

What? Oh, succuLENT? Never mind.
The freeze we had in January killed the tall, exotic succulents in the planters I got at a yard. Today I went to clear out the pots, and found many babies already growing. Kalanchoe Daigremontiana, aka Mother of Thousands plant.
whatwhatwhat is the big deal about PLANTS?!!!
@randombob Learning to appreciate flora brings serenity. Looks like you can use some flora appreciation right now.
They had us do an activity at work where they had us plant a small succulent in a Ball jar. I’ll post peekz later.
Took this Saguaro pic years ago:
Though I’m grateful for the agave plant…
We also keep an aloe growing in the house in case of burns.
@daveinwarsh Can’t see pic.
@daveinwarsh @OldCatLady It was so long ago that the pic disappeared by wear and tear.
