@ceagee Loading time was ok, but the payment validation service seems broken. I even went to usps.com to get a verified address to rule out user error...
@studerc Very strange because it worked perfectly for me precisely at midnight. I didn't try the forums though. Was able to see all the photos and vote in the survey. I didn't get an email when you mentioned my name though, perhaps because you forgot the trailing zero.
@somf69 So far every description I find says "Heavy Duty". Heavy Duty is the "One Size Fits All" or "Professional Grade" Kiss of Death with it comes to Descriptions
I really thought we would get the new theme song tonight, with a fuku bag. Oh, and in for at least one emergency kit, but I wish it included one of those seatbelt cutter/window breaker things.
@EcoTony Mine made it to 98,000 before its glorious self-destruction due to head warp/crack. @JerseyFrank, these tools won't fix that sort of thing. Maybe you can use them to pry the nameplate off so you can pretend you have a car that won't explode in a cloud of steam one day...
I've had better luck with the GM cars I've owned. I got 9 years & 220,000 miles on an Olds Alero before I sold it, and I've still got a 2001 Chevy pickup that's running strong @ ~14 years & 130,000 miles. I'm hoping the 2009 Pontiac I just bought on eBay is more like those and less like yours.
@SIMBM haha! yes! and that one is far more useful, and probably costs less. Admittedly, it probably won't work as a laptop or desltop, but it's got a great reading lamp.
In for two: bickering-dysfunctional-protest. Also, @jont, I had to re up my vmp membership for this purchase, but I've never cancelled it. I did, however change my cc. Is that why?
@JonT Same thing happened to me, except I already updated my credit card two days ago, when I purchased the USB lightning cables. My VMP still worked that day. But today, it was expired, and I had to re-up on the terms & conditions. Sure hope that doesn't count against me if you guys ever put in any kind of tenure ranking system. I was VMP since day zero, and intended to stay that way.
Anyone know if you purchase two if you can then purchase another one in a separate order? I got one for the wife and I but now I am thinking this would be a great white elephant gift.
From what I can find, in general the 400 amp cables are typically 4 gauge. So it's actually a pretty good deal as 4 ga cables usually go for $20 and up by themselves. You can guarantee these are copper clad aluminum, not full copper cables. No big deal though.
Anyone know how good the cables are? I'm thinking of 2 for mine and the kids small cars. Hubby has some big heavy duty ones for his truck. But I don't want something that is going to fall apart or electrocute anyone.
Will it work on a lambretta? Tired of itty-bitty 'mergency 'quipment from China.. Need some big hand tools. I am limited in weight though, this meh can't be any heavier than my partial steel toed work boots.
Was hoping for a mehrathon, but will have to settle for an emehrgency kit, even though it's not purple. Need to test out the VMP I was suckered into for a shirt. I'm sure it's @cengland's fault.
I for one am glad I was able to snag a few for Christmas, before these were all gone. I can think of a time just last month that a set of jumper cables would have been handy. Thanks for the MEH shoppers for reading my mind. Now just get all all of "My List" and I will be truely extatic. That means stuff I don't want to give as gifts but for all for me! Big smile
OK, meh, you win. I'm a sucker for cheap crap. I've worn my wife down to, "Whatever!" (which, if extrapolated to infinity, approaches "meh" asymptotically.)
@cwiceman Did you buy it and select the regular $5 shipping and not subscribe to VMP? I don't see a VMP tag by your name so I think that's what you did.
Meh, what a deal. Got one for my daughter and one for her boyfriend. Since I live in Poland I shower my daughter with random gifts from Meh. She loves the Dyson I got her a while back and they were completely underwhelmed with the Kickstarter fuku bag.
Tempting but after doing a quick search on eBay cheap emergency kits for $10 are quite common it seems.
Unless the quality of this particular kit is better than average and Irk cast a spell of Cheap Basterd Good Fortune on it I'm going to pass.
I could use some decent headlamps and reflective running gear though. Get that dastardly singing “cowboy” to do something useful rather than putting jeans on a goat.
You would think after a lifetime of needlessly torturing farm animals he would jump at a chance to redeem himself. Chop chop I say!
As far as the gauge of wires goes, have you ever ran into a problem because your jumper cables were too thin?
I mean really. It's not like you're gonna use these to jump start heavy equipment on the set of Gold Rush or rig up your MIG welder with them. When your battery is dead, have you ever told someone, "I need help really bad, but your cables aren't the right gauge.."?
@commodog yes, the wires get very hot on the thinner guage and If you don't wear the paper thin gloves included in those cheaper sets, you could warn up your hands really fast
@commodog@somf69 I thought I had a good pair of cables (cheapo thin wires) and when I had to jumpstart a friends truck, it wouldnt take. A passerby stopped with some heavy gauge cables & we jumped it in "all of 2 seconds."
@commodog When you're jump starting a car/truck, you're not just supplying power to the battery. You're also supplying power to the starter. A starter may draw as much as 200 to 250 amps when starting. That's on top of the amperage the battery itself is looking for. When using a crappy set of cables you won't be able to pass enough amperage to actually start the vehicle. @brianmc1975's comment above is a perfect example of this. Most people try to counter this issue by leaving the jumper cables on for a longer period to allow the dead battery to recharge to the point the starter can draw from it. But this can be a danger as the cheap cables are going to heat up with continuous use and could melt the insulation right off. Car fires are awesomely cool to watch, unless it's YOUR car.
@commodog Finally got mine in today 11/21/14. The cables arent as cheap as I thought they would be. Nice set of cables for $10, all the rest is freebies.
You see "Emergency Roadside Kit". My family sees "Another Place to Grab Tools from and Not Return". In two months, I'd have a nylon bag with a reflective triangle and blanket in it.
@xEBRONx Those are the same facial expressions I made when I first saw a "cowboy" forcibly put a bra and panties on a goat. Don't be fooled by the seemingly benign nature of Meh's Singing "Cowboy", he is doing some truly dastardly things to farm animals in his spare time.
I already have a really well stocked kit that my sister got me. She got the whole family emergency trunk kits, at some point. I was still tempted. This is what meh has done to me.
@Headly What do you do? -USE AAA CARD A TOW TRUCK appears, with a DRIVER inside. -SHOOT DRIVER I don't know how to SHOOT. -USE GLOCK ON DRIVER The DRIVER has died. -GET TOW TRUCK You take the TOW TRUCK and continue on your way. You bastard. -HOPE NO ONE FINDS OUT You are going to HELL. -FUCK YOU I don't know how to FUCK.
@Starblind I was hoping for a more MacGuyer like version. Car breaks down- use AAA card on flint above leaves to start a fire to make smoke. Use gun to hunt food whilst waiting for rescue crew to arrive. (or to shoot rescue crew- so you can eat them... because wild food tastes nasty)
@OnionSoup MacGyver prefers non-violent resolutions and prefers not to handle a gun. There have been many episodes where I remember someone handing him a gun and he gives it back.
@cengland0 Fair enough... although we're all a bit more cranky since the recession. MacGyver is older now and would probably shoot someone if they got on his lawn.
@OnionSoup Luxury old-world artisianal nylon, handcrafted by skilled craftsmen out of only the finest free-range polymers. Just like the parachute Grandma used on her wedding day.
@OnionSoup if my eyes are seeing that close up shot correctly (only had a single beer so far), it looks like luxurious canvas nylon rather than that plain old nylon stuff that disintegrates below 32 degrees..
@smilingjack Everyone should carry jumper cables around. This is essentially jumper cables and a "luxury" nylon bag to keep the cables together and not wrapping around everything... plus a $1 flashlight and a few other cheapo items. Worth it for cables and bag in my opinion. Other stuff is just extra.
@OnionSoup That's pretty much why I bought it. I don't know where my jumper cables are now and roadside assistance takes too long. The other stuff is good to have if you don't already, but it was really the cables in a convenient bag. Hopefully they're not too hard to put back in once you use them.
I will admit, I thought this would be sold out by now. Nice that there is a good bit floating around the warehouse, the deal is good and something that every driver should have in their vehicle.
@wisenekt Except for me. I haven't found my 12V car battery yet. I think it's in the hatch but my initial digging around didn't reveal it. I asked a couple auto-smart friends to look for it and they couldn't find it either. That's the problem with a hybrid, I suppose. You still have a 12V battery somewhere to start the engine when the lithium batteries run low and it's somewhere in the car but who knows where?!?!?!
@cengland0 I would hope that would be in the owner's manual, that is a pretty important thing to know where it is. Perhaps you can blame the previous goat administration?
@cengland0 Do you have a Prius? If so, the 12V battery is in the back. Mine (a gen 3) is on the passenger side, behind a plastic panel. Note that you really don't need to know where it is. If you really screw up and discharge the 12V battery, the vehicle is jumped from the fuse block in the front. Here is a video:
@cengland0 Done the same way, apparently. RX 450h = PriusV in Lexus Clothing. Not really the case, but he basics of the hybrid system are the same. Look under the hood the next time you check the oil and take the top off the fuse block. I bet you will see the same + jump terminal.
@wilfbrim That would be nice if there were jumper terminals under the hood even if the battery is hidden in the hatch area. I'll have to check that out one day (probably when my battery is dead).
Ordered three for Crossmoose gifts. Any way Meh can allow separate shipping and billing addresses? Couldn't submit my order because my shipping ZIP didn't match my CC ZIP. I don't want my dog knowing I ordered these.
@aWes0m3 It should be fine, all my Meh orders have been to a different address that isn't even in the same state as my billing address (Summer house). Just make sure "My billing address is the same as my shipping address" isn't checked on the order screen. If that still doesn't work, I guess Meh's tech support folks can sort it out. They definitely allow shipping addresses though.
Okay so my kits just arrived and they are both wet on the inside. The box they arrived in is in good shape, no sign of water damage. The plastic bags they were wrapped in are sealed. When I unzipped them and flipped open the top there is visible water in them. So my conclusion is they were in this condition when they were shipped. Anyone else?
Dear Jesus, Smartpost! My car kit is taking an even longer trip up here to Seattle than usual. Shipped last Friday the 14th and went: Texas to New Mexico to Colorado to Utah to California, where it is still in transit. The normal route is Texas > Arizona > California > Washington. Good golly.
Mine arrived, no problems other than the oddly strong odor and the batteries inside the first one were dented up, haven't opened the others but seems pretty meh for $10 each.
Umm….yeah….okay. I feel like I just stepped into a weird portal that transported me to a place where the people speak English but in some weird foreign language kinda way.
reflective triangle is broken. I can repair it. Just tired of feeling "meh" about everything me or my friends get from meh.com -_- at least it was only $16 after tax and shipping. To be fair they've taken care of everything wonderfully. But damn I have never seen so much broken or wrong stuff from one company o.O
Mine arrived in good condition. Only thing was that it had a brutally powerful chemical odor. As in, I have never ever come across anything with such a strong chemical smell in my life. Put it in the garage to air out for a few days.
Mine arrived just fine… no water, no odor, nothing broken… although the jumper cables are pretty wimpy, I have a better flashlight in the car and several fleece blankets. The extremely corroded ones these are replacing were must heftier, thicker wire...
My luxurious kit exceeded my expectations. Appropriately aromatic, like an auto parts store with adequate ventilation. Going to add some silicone tape and something to cut it with. It's a tight squeeze but trying to think of other useful additions that might fit in the kit.
Got mine yesterday. It's got a slight odor, but not overwhelming. I'm amused at the low-quality flashlight, wondering why they didn't include a better, and smaller, LED flashlight instead, especially when you can buy them for a buck or two. But no complaints otherwise. It's perfectly Meh.
Got mine delivered to work yesterday too. It was very chemically aromatic. Had fun watching my co-workers try to figure out what the battery terminal cleaner might be. Most guessed it was a WTF.
Mine showed as planned, definitely had some smell to them, but it is the typical smell you get from overseas rubber products. I put them in the garage to air out a bit. No water in mine like someone else mentioned though.
@JonT i sent another message. not getting my hopes up since everything I order from meh goes from TX to PA, then back to Louisiana. my coworkers meh orders go from TX to LA.
@clonetek Yeah....so, you're zip code is wrong. It looks like the carrier is trying to guess based on your city. Make sure your address is correct on your orders, and you'll be fine.
@clonetek As I learned when my credit card expired, the only way to update your info (for now) is to make another purchase. The next time you buy something, make sure you double-check and update your zip code, and then that will save your info for all future orders.
So I gifted these for the young drivers in my family with crappy cars. All kits were wet inside, everything was rusty, So now I'm the creepy uncle who gives cheap crap as gifts. No, they weren't left out in the rain, porch is well covered for delivery. They were sealed.
@moondrake Hah! I felt a bit guilty giving these (3 of them) as Christmas gifts but got over it and tagged the beautifully fitted box "To Family... Love Santa". Given the aging batteries in our three cars, there was all around happiness when they realized Jumper cables are included!

@mediocrebot i have a phone. ..sooo do not want.
First meh. But took me 15 minutes to get on the forum.
Where is everybody ? What's up ?
@ceagee Took me 15 to even get the site to load. I have Google Fiber, so I know the problem isn't on my end.
@okaytodd @ceagee No kidding. Fifteen minutes and all we have to lust after is a lousy roadside emergency kit? Meh.
@okaytodd Google Fiber is the new "Back when I was at Harvard..."
@okaytodd the saddest part was there wasn't even a "something went terribly wrong "song
@Avxyvei I thought I might have been missing out on a sweet, sweet speaker dock deal
@mehmeyousweet it's not Friday yet…
@JonT That hasn't stopped you guys before!
@ceagee yeah Meh lately has been sucking royally at loading.
@ceagee So you weren't enticed by the 300 speaker docks for sale yet?
@ceagee Loading time was ok, but the payment validation service seems broken. I even went to usps.com to get a verified address to rule out user error...
Well, that was an awful long wait for meh. Was being forced to take the original servers with you part of the Amazon deal @snapster?
@Cinoclav nope. hamster wheel joke.
@snapster
Who keeps breaking meh? Damn it @cengland, knock off the shenanigans!!
@studerc takes a goat to know a goat
@studerc Very strange because it worked perfectly for me precisely at midnight. I didn't try the forums though. Was able to see all the photos and vote in the survey. I didn't get an email when you mentioned my name though, perhaps because you forgot the trailing zero.
@cengland0 touche! I blame you for that trailing zero.
@studerc @cengland0 numbers in a user name - very 90's Get with it goat!
meh servers.... are just meh
I smell a conspiracy. Also, my Nissan Altima has this exact kit. Luxury, really???
@mj1019 yea and your kit cost the price of a vehicle...this is like $10...way better deal. Pretty sure that logic is sound.
@mj1019 Hence the description of: "Manufactured in finite quantities for a luxury car manufacturer" Get it? Infiniti...
@mj1019 I have TWO jumper cables, OMG livin' in the very lap of luxury!!!
Looks like it's time to upgrade dose servers doe
Need more hamsters to power the servers?
In for one glittering-cynical-oyster. :)
Any idea what the gauge thickness is on the cables?
@somf69 So far every description I find says "Heavy Duty". Heavy Duty is the "One Size Fits All" or "Professional Grade" Kiss of Death with it comes to Descriptions
@somf69 Somewhere between 12 and 22 :-D
@djjedi 22... ha ha... maybe it can be used as dental floss as a backup.
I want a surprise goodie bag! It's about time!
@ninkorn Hopefully theres some suprise goodies within this "luxurious" bag.
inconsistent-painful-necromancer
In for three necromantic mehs.
I already have kits for both cars. Good deal, though.
Fun fact: they shredded that cable during that tug-of-war. Also made a lot of noise while @katylava, @shawn, and I were trying to program.
Our product tests are very thorough.
@harrison you're just mad you couldn't play.
@harrison IOW - you guys were playing and that's why the site was down. Well at least it was for a good reason.
@harrison Who was on the teams ? Which team won ? What was the prize ? TY.
@harrison not an even match to have an Olympic swimmer from the UK on one side.
Looks like these are from Nissan/Infiniti:

@belowi -You're right, that's what the Amazon link says, as well.
@belowi shipping from Texas, I'm calling shenanigans!!!
@Ryaneil SHENANIGANS HAVE BEEN CALLED!
@Ryaneil Ship charge $15.02. Now that's shenanigans. Not to mention the .02. WTF
@ceagee 16.36 for me
I really thought we would get the new theme song tonight, with a fuku bag. Oh, and in for at least one emergency kit, but I wish it included one of those seatbelt cutter/window breaker things.
@KDemo I tell you what, I didn't even know there's a tool that actually can cut the seatbelt. I know, I'm in, quite inevitably.
@cainegoon Yes, it's a razor blade.
@KDemo Yeah, because when you are stuck in your seatbelt you will get this from your trunk. Think harder.
Wow, @phatmass why the hostility? Possibly I am smart enough to store it in my glove box or attached to the seatbelt. Think outside the case.
@KDemo I'm sorry. I was rude. I love you.
@phatmass - Apology accepted. :-)
Found it on ebay and it's 12 bucks with 15 for shipping !!
But it says it's for a NISSAN
i wonder if these can fix the servers from crashing . In for 2 as Christmas gifts
I have been meaning to get some jumper cables for my truck and sedan and just have too lazy. Had to purchase this set.
throw in a ball gag and vinyl hood- this is a party!!!
Will this work on a Pontiac?
@JerseyFrank maybe you're asking if a Pontiac will work on these.
@JerseyFrank unlikely A Pontiac will work beyond 89,000 miles.
@EcoTony Mine made it to 98,000 before its glorious self-destruction due to head warp/crack. @JerseyFrank, these tools won't fix that sort of thing. Maybe you can use them to pry the nameplate off so you can pretend you have a car that won't explode in a cloud of steam one day...

c'mon- somebody needs to ask it...
Will this work on a Mac?
@alacrity dammit, you and i posted mac jokes at the same time...
@khunjeff Well does it work on a Mac or not?
@chuckf1 the awful truth is that WE STILL DON'T KNOW
@alacrity Buy it and test it! I look forward to the YouTube video of you hooking jumper cables to your Mac and the hilarious results that follow.
@chuckf1 yep- this'll definetly work on a mac- the mac, however- probably won't work right again.
@wishlish i once tried to jump-start my room mates' mac with home made semtex... boy, was that totally misunderstood by the sherrif's dept.
@alacrity Sure it will. One of these: http://www.macktrucks.com/~/media/images/applications/pinnacle/mack_trucksereies_pinnacle_app5_longhaul.ashx?as=1&sc=1
@DaveInSoCal Probably, if we tried to charge a canceled card it most likely never went through so it lapsed.
@DJP519 I've got bad news for you then- you've been a VMP member since 11/2014
@dashcloud That makes me feel very.... meh.
Anyone know if you purchase two if you can then purchase another one in a separate order? I got one for the wife and I but now I am thinking this would be a great white elephant gift.
@wisenekt - Yes, the system lets you order again, but only up to the total limit of 3.
@KDemo Awesome, got in before I go to bed. I know this will probably be sold out by the time I get to the office in the morning.
Will this work to jump start a Mac?
@khunjeff yeah- you need a deep-cell marine battery, preferably hi-amperage if yer gonna do it right...
@khunjeff ... Why would you wanna kick start a Mac? Just go to Jack-in-the-Box and get one of theirs.. No jump start needed.
@unkabob i like kick-starting Mac's- the owners of 'em- not so much
@alacrity ... Radio.
@unkabob it was sparkly!
http://www.drivingmamas.com/kind-jumper-cables-buy-matter/
Great info here, the lower the gauge on the wires, the better....so any idea what the gauge is on these?
Does the emergency kit come with a backup server for meh?
Was the Baby Arm on the winning team?
@somf69 Yes
pessimistic-perceptive-bedroom... is meh trying to suggest an alternative use for the contents of the three kits I just got?
From what I can find, in general the 400 amp cables are typically 4 gauge. So it's actually a pretty good deal as 4 ga cables usually go for $20 and up by themselves. You can guarantee these are copper clad aluminum, not full copper cables. No big deal though.
@Cinoclav Thanks, I'm in now
Anyone know how good the cables are? I'm thinking of 2 for mine and the kids small cars. Hubby has some big heavy duty ones for his truck. But I don't want something that is going to fall apart or electrocute anyone.
No Meh~rit to me.
Meh'd to keep my streak going (I'm a horrible person, I know) but seriously tempted to buy one for each car...
@mrmadchef - Most people here click the meh face and order as well. You are free to find something else to feel guilty about.
Nice kit, great price! I'll pick up a few more things to add to it such as flares, an extra flashlight, a window punch and a seatbelt cutter.
@Saffer49 Yes, but if you are stuck in your seat belt, how will you get to the cutter?
@rhinoknock Touche'... Well played
@rhinoknock Keep it on the passenger seat. Being forever alone does have its advantages. :(
Will it work on a lambretta? Tired of itty-bitty 'mergency 'quipment from China.. Need some big hand tools. I am limited in weight though, this meh can't be any heavier than my partial steel toed work boots.
Was hoping for a mehrathon, but will have to settle for an emehrgency kit, even though it's not purple. Need to test out the VMP I was suckered into for a shirt. I'm sure it's @cengland's fault.
@heartny Barney loves purple. (Y'know, just in case he misses this one.)
@Cinoclav he really does.
@heartny who is this cengland person you are referring to?
I love purple.
@cengland0 It's most definitely your fault for having that damn 0 there.
f5...f5...f5...f5...servers overwhelmed...f5...f5...f5
Old school wooters are feeling right at home!
Big smile
In for 3. Way too cheap to pass up!
How many of these do you have?
OK, meh, you win. I'm a sucker for cheap crap. I've worn my wife down to, "Whatever!" (which, if extrapolated to infinity, approaches "meh" asymptotically.)
@2many2no that's asymptotally cool
My 1st Meh! 2 bright spanking new Emehgency kits. Bring it Ebola..
@hippiechik I have heard that Ebola can be cure by attaching your nipples to one end of the jumper cables and the car battery to the others.
@OnionSoup you are one sick puppy… that would be exploding puppy...
I normally wouldn't buy this kind of crap but who cares its worth $15 (shipped) and I needed some jumper cables anyway... Don't disappoint me Meh!
@cwiceman Did you buy it and select the regular $5 shipping and not subscribe to VMP? I don't see a VMP tag by your name so I think that's what you did.
@cengland0 Nice try. It's still your fault they didn't sign up.
@cengland0 @cwiceman very smart - it'll be at least 30 days before something s/he wants
Meh, what a deal. Got one for my daughter and one for her boyfriend. Since I live in Poland I shower my daughter with random gifts from Meh. She loves the Dyson I got her a while back and they were completely underwhelmed with the Kickstarter fuku bag.
Me x3. Not meh x3. One for my kid's mom, one for me, and one for my S.O's kids. Woo, xmas via meh.
Half decent deal, in for one for an xmas present. Meh is feeding me good! gourmet-valid-radish
If it had a mini compressor included it would have been BOSS!
Totally worth its weight in men!
Tempting but after doing a quick search on eBay cheap emergency kits for $10 are quite common it seems.
Unless the quality of this particular kit is better than average and Irk cast a spell of Cheap Basterd Good Fortune on it I'm going to pass.

You would think after a lifetime of needlessly torturing farm animals he would jump at a chance to redeem himself. Chop chop I say!
snobbish hysterical tiramisu! How luxurious.
I don't know why but I purchased two. Now give me my TMBG theme song already! The anticipation is killing me.
@jimmyd103 SAY IT!!!!
@somf69 are you charging batteries with them? A jump start takes all of 2 seconds
@somf69 yep, i had a cheapo pair catch fire and melt.
@commodog @somf69 I thought I had a good pair of cables (cheapo thin wires) and when I had to jumpstart a friends truck, it wouldnt take. A passerby stopped with some heavy gauge cables & we jumped it in "all of 2 seconds."
@commodog When you're jump starting a car/truck, you're not just supplying power to the battery. You're also supplying power to the starter. @Cinoclav
@commodog I like other posters have had cheap small gauge wires not work.
@commodog Finally got mine in today 11/21/14. The cables arent as cheap as I thought they would be. Nice set of cables for $10, all the rest is freebies.
sly-weird-bun
Must be because I bought 2
in for two
You see "Emergency Roadside Kit". My family sees "Another Place to Grab Tools from and Not Return". In two months, I'd have a nylon bag with a reflective triangle and blanket in it.
@NapkinEater that's funny.
I wanted to buy a couple of these for gifts. My wife said no :-(
It was more fun buying all kinds of craptastic crap when I was single.
@wilfbrim Play the worried about her safety card... works for me every time!
@wilfbrim Asking for forgiveness is better than asking for permission. (hope the wifey doesnt read this)
@PWiddy Perhaps @Meh will sell balls one day... Would make a nice Two for Tuesday!
@Bro this isnt the @meh youre looking for :)
@PWiddy Plot twist: She decided she likes them and wants one for herself. In for 3 (1 for her +2 gifts).
Meh, but the battery terminal brush is a nice inclusion.
I already have an emergency kit, but it seems like a good Christmas present.
In for two, one for me and one as a Christmas gift. unready-rewarded-mother That's my momma you're talking about, meh!
@moondrake - Award this to your mother so she'll be ready.
My order is military-treacherous-parcel
Does not have pagination. For this reason alone... meh.
I already have a really well stocked kit that my sister got me. She got the whole family emergency trunk kits, at some point. I was still tempted. This is what meh has done to me.
Meh. My roadside emergency kit consists of a AAA card and a Glock 22.
@Headly
What do you do?
-USE AAA CARD
A TOW TRUCK appears, with a DRIVER inside.
-SHOOT DRIVER
I don't know how to SHOOT.
-USE GLOCK ON DRIVER
The DRIVER has died.
-GET TOW TRUCK
You take the TOW TRUCK and continue on your way. You bastard.
-HOPE NO ONE FINDS OUT
You are going to HELL.
-FUCK YOU
I don't know how to FUCK.
@Starblind That's only when I'm driving the older, buggy version of my car.
@Starblind then you will never get your energy back
@OnionSoup MacGyver prefers non-violent resolutions and prefers not to handle a gun. There have been many episodes where I remember someone handing him a gun and he gives it back.
@cengland0 Fair enough... although we're all a bit more cranky since the recession. MacGyver is older now and would probably shoot someone if they got on his lawn.
Made of Luxury Nylon...
@OnionSoup Luxury old-world artisianal nylon, handcrafted by skilled craftsmen out of only the finest free-range polymers. Just like the parachute Grandma used on her wedding day.
@OnionSoup It will go great with my Corenthian Leather!
@OnionSoup if my eyes are seeing that close up shot correctly (only had a single beer so far), it looks like luxurious canvas nylon rather than that plain old nylon stuff that disintegrates below 32 degrees..
Wow, the old Woot servers are back!
Guys, I never know if I should be cursing at my internet or yours.
So, did anyone decided if these are good enough to open a new account for?
Good small christmas gift.
Not that I would remember the password on a second account.
@wisenekt I should probably read that manual some day. I've had the car for 2 years now and haven't looked at it even once.
@wilfbrim No, it's a Lexus RX 450h, 2013. I'm sure if I cared enough to google it, I'd find an answer to the question. I'm a lazy goat.
What the heck. In for 2. They certainly come in handy sometimes. Jumper cables especially!
distinct-cruel-street
And, had to renew VMP, but I had a current card on file, so not sure what happened there...oh well lol
@Starblind I must have completely missed that. I blame @cengland0.
These just won't sell out.
HOLY SHIT I HAVE 30K EMERGENCY ROAD KITS!!!
, Luxury OEM
There are some qt3.14 girls working at meh. Including @JonT and his beard.
@molfsontan
@JonT David Mitchell gifs are the best gifs.
Confound it. First not-Meh for us. My Scot blood normally shields me from buying this foolishness.
Bought three of them. I guess worst case we can disassemble the kits and Craigslist the components.
Should bring at least $31.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
@jrwofuga What does that even mean here? You might as well say "I love purple!"
I love purple.
The only "luxury nylon" allowed in my house is in the fishnet body stockings my wife wears occasionally during "happy fun time"
Whew. Got this right at 11:59pm ET.
@jimmyd103
Mine were also wet. Wet amd rusty.
Good golly.
@meh For some reason they're avoiding I-5. Not sure why.
@meh Following an crazy delivery path is always half the fun. I had a boc that bounced back and forth between two main post offices for days.
Mine showed up earlier this week, and seemed to be in good condition.
@bluedog Maybe there was LSD in someone's Fukubukuro...
@Pony @bluedog now it looks like these are the LSD comments.
@Ignorant Yippee! I guess the bot's comments have been deleted? I didn't look at the other threads where he/she/it had posted.
@bluedog Not a bot, but yes they're being taken care of.
@JonT Did they earn the first deletions? That should be noted somewhere. With a sad face. Also, thanks for handling that.
@JonT I missed the excitement...
reflective triangle is broken.
@Bingo Head to Harbor Freight or a Tire Shop and you'll smell the same.
Mine arrived fine too. No water, no weird smell (except maybe the mailman.)
Actually, my friend's Roombas arrived okay a few days ago, so maybe I just need to go to sleep at a more friendly time...
I wish I'd bought a couple more for gifts.
Mine just arrived- really nice little kit. The flashlight is a piece of crap, but I keep a mag lite in my truck anyway, so no biggie. Thanks, Meh!
@DJP519 I fully intend to modify the cheapie flashlight in the kits with a high power LED
Got mine delivered to work yesterday too. It was very chemically aromatic. Had fun watching my co-workers try to figure out what the battery terminal cleaner might be. Most guessed it was a WTF.
Yep, they are smelly.
Got to open them up and put them in the garage to air out.
Maybe there will be a nice sunny day and I can put them outside.
Mine showed as planned, definitely had some smell to them, but it is the typical smell you get from overseas rubber products. I put them in the garage to air out a bit. No water in mine like someone else mentioned though.
Hmm... mine didn't smell at all.
It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since I ordered my kit. Maybe Santa will bring it to me..
@clonetek don't be alarmed but I think you might be living in a black hole...let us know at http://meh.com/support and we'll figure it out.
@hart how do I fix it? I dont see anything on my account page to change it.
@clonetek As I learned when my credit card expired, the only way to update your info (for now) is to make another purchase. The next time you buy something, make sure you double-check and update your zip code, and then that will save your info for all future orders.
@clonetek What @DJP519 said. Just correct your zip next time you order. I would try to fix it for you, but I don't want to add the wrong zip code.
So I gifted these for the young drivers in my family with crappy cars. All kits were wet inside, everything was rusty, So now I'm the creepy uncle who gives cheap crap as gifts. No, they weren't left out in the rain, porch is well covered for delivery. They were sealed.
@BionicPickle guess I better unzip mine to make sure it is OK. I just threw it in the back of my 25 year old ghetto van when it came.
@BionicPickle Bought three and they seemed fine. Sorry yours were meh. :/
@BionicPickle that sucks :( hit us up at https://meh.com/support
@BionicPickle
To be fair you always were, now it's just known.
@BionicPickle Bummer. All three of our kits were shiny clean just like the day they hit the Nissan/Infinity parts depot shelves five years ago!
I gave the two I bought as Christmas gifts. At my unwrapping party they opened them and examined all the contents and declared them "murder bags".
@moondrake Hah! I felt a bit guilty giving these (3 of them) as Christmas gifts but got over it and tagged the beautifully fitted box "To Family... Love Santa". Given the aging batteries in our three cars, there was all around happiness when they realized Jumper cables are included!
