@DrunkCat You know, right, that there is no AI? AI is just a bunch of Indians doing stuff. “Actually Indians”. So when you hate AI, you hate the beings behind the screen. Which is not cool. Not everyone can draw well and has money to learn it. Rubbing it in all the time is not what good people do. Good people love, not hate.
@Ark_kun “Cloud based” text-generating “AI” can be via crowdsourcing from micropaid masses (and not just in India), but most on-demand local-AI-generated images are not, including the ones from the 'bot running on the Meh server. If they had people behind them, they wouldn’t have so many glaring basic errors. Flip side: Most (perhaps all) of them were “trained” using images found on the web (often with the assistance of the micropaid masses cited above), and they tend to steal chunks of collected content to create their end result.
I bought these and they work fine on a nalgene but I did manage to dislodge my full metal water bottle. Basically, they mostly do what I need but kinda suck
@shirlema thank you, I was hoping they’d be suitable for the giant metal water bottles my wife prefers but sounds like they aren’t great options for that.
Does this cupholder prevent you from leaving the car without your drink, forgetting that it’s there, until the next time you order food, at which point the cup has already made a mess in the holder?
@mediocrebot so close, the wrong number of fingers makes it weird… otherwise looks good. Oh wait the gatorade entering through a portal to the ice dimension is also odd.
@bobthenormal@mediocrebot What is it with these AI systems getting the number of fingers wrong? Does it have something to do with the fact that they never had to learn to count to 10 on their own fingers?
What an odd idea… Not all vehicles have a cup holder in the console. My 1992 Toyota Xcab Truck has a 2 slot pull out, which I’m happy to have for occasional beverages. That design really looks like a recipe for disaster… Not made for a non-spill thermos contigo like object. Who takes a Ceramic Coffee Cup in Car?
@Mandamm I used to use my ceramic coffee mug in my car until I moved into a house with a long 15degree angle driveway at the end of a very bumpy street. Plastic makes coffee taste bad and ceramic is more pleasant to drink from than paper or foam.
Anyone know if the top holder is “adjustable” as in spring loaded or does it stay at the diameter you set?
My Rav4 has 2 cup-holders but the inserts are not very good so they don’t fit most of the cups we try to use. Without the insert they rattle around and are tippy.
Passed on these last time I saw them, but now I’m tempted, since I have a few travel mugs that don’t fit in normal cupholders. You guys are making me nervous, though. I don’t like lap coffee!
I got one of these in the morning save mystery box. I haven’t used it but a friend has one and she likes it for her big oversized cups. Hasn’t had an issue
@werehatrackHey there, fellas! Today, we have for you this lovely experiment …
Okay, that’s just BMI Russian doing the translating, but the mad lads certainly answer all the “what if” questions by doing – like making an inline-16 engine out of four 4-cylinder engines.
My project car (which was the first one I owned) has zero cupholders and no place to install them. Since it’s a manual transmission, I long ago grew a third hand for my coffee.
This is great in theory. But it doesn’t have locks or support for larger or fully filled travel bottles. I have to fill it half way just for it not to wobble too much. Poor design at the sides of the adjustable holder

Using AI is like being a garbage adjustable holder too.

@Ark_kun @DrunkCat Hey, now, no need for hate or animosity; after all, we’re all part of the simulation.

@Ark_kun @werehatrack The worlds most expensive plagiarism fueled auto complete.
@Ark_kun @DrunkCat @ircon96 OP does nothing but complain about AI here, every single day. I’d just ignore and move on.
@Ark_kun @ircon96 @PooltoyWolf Technically they’re not complaints.
Hmm….this looks useful, but if I hold my coffee I have a better chance at burning my groin for a big pay day. decisions, decisions.
@Num1Zero Beat me to it.
@Num1Zero @tweezak

@narfcake @Num1Zero @tweezak That’s what he gets for manspreading.

Double, nay, triple your chances to knock a drink onto your passenger, who could possibly go without one!

What is the weight limit of the upper. second holder when fully extended?
@Barc777 African or European?

@Mandamm sorry… you lost me at ‘2 slot pull out’.

Too bad it doesn’t also hold an iPhone, as I would have bought it for sure! Now, not so much, a no go for me!
@user84355571 You mean something like this?

@user84355571 Thanks. For some reason I couldn’t open your attachment.

Sidedeal has those plush cup holders on sale if you drive alone. Places for snacks too. I’ve bought four.
That’s a lot of examples of cups w/o lids. Do people really take those into cars?
@Boiler3k I used to before living in the country. (Driveway and roads make that impractical now). I don’t like drinking from a lid as much.
Even now, if I drink a third down before driving, I’ll use a lidless cup.

@ironcheftoni
Thanks… that’s very helpful.
If I still had either of my BMWs having only one cupholder in the front (I guess because of their manual transmissions), I’d probably buy this.
Looks useful at first, but gets an average of 2 star reviews. I’ll pass
I’m seeing the same item at morning save website. Collusion?
Wow, making up for poor vehicle layouts. Sorry, maybe need to plan ahead and buy the car before the cups…
Could be worse. They could be a Garage54 product.

Superior design to ones I’ve had. Bargain price. Thanks.
