We have a Dyson animal 14 that’s still going, and we love it. So we bought one of these models because the 14 is ancient… and we hate it. Don’t like the ball at all, and the end of the wand comes off no matter what adhesive we’ve tried. Which means the hose falls off and the darn thing falls over every few minutes. Thought about taking it to a Dyson repair place, but bet that would cost at least $100!
@ruouttaurmind With the help of youtube we replaced the clutch on our 14 - plus belts and the beater bar. Who knew the old Dysons had a clutch!? Good luck.
I received my Dyson a couple weeks ago, but just got around to opening it up this weekend.
I have to say… I don’t love it. I have an old Dyson DC14 that’s served me well for many years. It’s built like a tank. I love it.
The new DC41 on the other hand feels so incredibly cheap and flimsy in comparison. And I HATE the ball. HATE HATE HATE. Also, the waste container is quite a bit smaller than that on the DC14. One thing it does have that I appreciate is a much longer power cord. It’s at least 10 to 12 feet longer than on the DC14.
It seems to work well enough, but I guess I would have been just as happy to have passed on it. Or maybe purchased an old refurb DC14 instead.

Are the DC41 models any good? I have a very old Dyson that’s getting a bit long in the tooth.
The roller halves of the ball are nowhere near as durable as the old-style two wheel design.
We’re now using a Shark vacuum.
@RedOak Same here!
@RedOak Love my refurb Shark Nav’s from Woot.

@cocoabrioche I might be better off spending $100 having my old Dyson rebuilt maybe?
