@chienfou @ircon96 Thanks! I didn’t want to claim it myself but I’ll take it. Interesting, the youtube bot gave me a different version than the one I originally listened to - I hadn’t even seen the cute dog, or Rod McKuen claiming ownership of a song he adapted from the Jacques Brel original!

@chienfou @Kyeh I was curious about the contrasts between the two, which reminds me of the often stark differences between French & American films. As you probably know, McKuen had a whole project/album where he reworked Brel’s songs with English lyrics, so it seems like it was a labor of love, at least! Lol… And apparently Brel wasn’t above borrowing from other works himself, since he used some classical music passages in this song, which i found interesting. I learn so much i never even knew to wonder about just by going through the Driving Game every day!

Oh, it was ExtraMedium himself who changed that. So take it up with him if you want.

@chienfou @Kyeh And then it was the same for the next 30+ games until Kyeh decided to make it up on the fly, history and consistency aren’t important, we don’t need no stinking rules, and broke it.

That’s why we can’t have nice things. I fixed it so we can continue to have nice things. Like the cheat sheet - and being able to easily maintain it without having to guess at what title-of-the-moment did some chucklehead decide to use without considering the consequences of their actions.

And since I’m the one volunteering my time to setup, maintain, including sharing eith everyone how I do the work (and minimizing it) so they can help out too ( chienfou), I think I do have a say in how consistent the topic titles should be. It is the one thing that kinda can’t be changed/fixed since it is the identifier for the topic itself. i.e. a database primary key for the geeks.

Because what you did directly affects the effort I have to spend keeping the other “nice things” about the game that maybe you don’t care about, but others do.
