How come the videos never show you guys trying it? How do we know it's safe to drink? I think in the interest of public safety you should try it before encouraging others to try it. (Plus it would make the videos funnier.)
Every time I look at one of these drinks, it makes me realize how bad my selection of liquor and ingredients is. Thought I'd be able to do this one (already had a smoked whiskey in Aruba), but no liquid smoke or 5 hour energy on hand. Have some SoCo or Jaegermeister I could throw on top!
@Kleineleh Try the science experiment and report back. I am guessing that since weak alcoholic beverages don't burn, that the fire will go out by itself once the drink gets that weak.
Vegetable oil is one answer to my own question. Lighting it without a wick is somewhat of a challenge, but there are many options for making a wick out of food.
This would likely make a much more disgusting drink.
@hamjudo you're right, the fire would burn off part but not all of the alcohol. There are a few powdered food substances that are explosive, but not flammable... I can't think of a better fuel than cooking oil and yeah, that would be truly disgusting
What happened to the good old 70's-80's when you just drank beers, occasional shot and drugs? Life is getting way too complicated these days. It was much easier to get high back in the "Good Old Days"...
@dashcloud Yup. Mr. Thorogood said it pretty clear. Drugs weren't made in someone's bathtub. Got smarter as the years went on so surpirsingly, still alive to talk about it. Much smarter than my parents so I can say, my kids never got away with the shit I did. Been there done that. Thanks for the song. Hadn't heard it in a long time. Think I threw my back out dancing around the kitchen. My dog thinks I'm nuts..
@dashcloud You're welcome. I only heard the oldest blues version a couple of years ago myself. Of course many many similar situations. I enjoy learning about the originals that I'm unaware of.
Know what that so-called "liquid smoke" really is? Liquid...smoke! Moisture is a byproduct of combustion that's as much why grills rust out as from being out in the weather. ANYWAY, news to me, and still, naturally occurring or not, 1/2 oz. of liquid smoke feels like...a lot.
You made me gag at the liquid smoke. You won me back with fire.
Serving instructions are spot on.
Is liquid smoke safe to drink? Lol
Pureed hot dogs and marshmallows with a 1/2 can of your mom's Olympia is the REAL Campfire Girl.
What's the non-alcoholic version of this one?
@Fej Something about Brownies?
@Fej substitute more liquid smoke for the liquor?

@christinerenee I've already asked about this. https://meh.com/forum/topics/drinking-terrible-with-meh-the-yule-bog#548bda9792d0611c024347fd
@christinerenee These ones are a lot more tame than the early ones.
I don't think anyone should ingest these, no way am I gonna.

Are there any nonalcoholic nontoxic flammable liquids? How can there be a non alcoholic version of this drink?
@hamjudo Floating LED 'candle'?
@hamjudo just let it burn long enough and it will become non-alcoholic

@hamjudo @Kleineleh Triple dog

@mehjohnson I am tempted now, just for the satisfaction of figuring out the right ingredients

@maggie @dashcloud Classic. Good ole days. Often have even older good ole days: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Bourbon,_One_Scotch,_One_Beer All Good! However old.
@mehjohnson Thank you- I had no idea the history stretched that far back.
