They were banned when I was in middle school apparently someone got caught with something clear that wasn't' water. Also I swear that some used baby bottles
@Foxborn The son of a friend did that and was busted. Vodka in water bottles. sad to say that kids have gotten as creative about smuggling in liquor as their parents on a cruise. of course, no one ever asks the moms for a sip of the "tea" in their Tervis tumblers at the community pool. Funny how the parents do it, then are dismayed when the kids follow suit.
@hallmike Possibly. But all it takes is one kid to pee his pants because of scheduled lavatory breaks to teach the rest of them to adjust their water intake ;)
Used to be, when I was a kid, you got water at the water fountain standing in line when the teacher put you on a break. I don't remember anybody dying of thirst.
My kids take water bottles in every day. I don't want to go hours without a drink of anything, why should children be expected to on a daily basis? Most of the teachers prefer it because then they don't have to either be interrupted by water break requests or schedule trips to the water fountain. Also, I'm far from being a germaphobe, (not a real word, apparently) but kids' water fountains are nasty.
I remember my kind mother filling a water bottle up with ice and water and putting it in my backpack every morning when I was a little kid. I never drank any of it though, so it would just get condensation everywhere.

How can I not have kids in school if I don't have kids?
The kids that do have a doctors note.
My kids take water bottles to school. It's a smart move by the teachers. Keeps kids from asking to get a drink at the water fountain every 5 seconds.
@jsh139 But doesn't that just make them ask to go to the restroom every 5 seconds instead?

@PocketBrain And you walked to school 5 miles uphill both ways?
@barnabee Exactly right. And since we couldn't afford to own feet, we had to rent them by the month.
@rockblossom With or without shoes?
@barnabee No shoes. We just wrapped our rented feet in burlap bags - if any were left over after making our winter coats.
@rockblossom Yeah, living in Hawaii in the winter is pretty rough.
@rockblossom You kids today and your newfangled feet! In my day, we walked around on fins and we liked it!

@PurplePawprints Kids in general are nasty. I swear I get sick every time after I am around one. Carriers.
@hallmike Eh, I just consider them to by my immunity builders.
What are kids?

The kid is only 6 months old, but he probably will when he's old enough for school! Water bottles are cool...
I always jump on the meh polls....
@zacatac Isn't that a bit hard on your monitor?
@zacatac And anyway - I thought meh polls were what kids danced around on meh day.
I want to know meh polls
