The more interesting question may have been: “Do you have more than one username on the same site, and if so, do you use them in the forum and end up talking to yourself (as a different username) either purposefully or accidentally?”
@thismyusername I’m so high I didn’t get it at first. I should live-stream my life. If I could figure out a way to monetize it, I would. Monetize it. And stream it.
@Pavlov Now that would be entertaining (2 users names and then talk to yourself in the form). Maybe there would be a mental health diagnosis that would go with that kind of talking to yourself?
@Pavlov Hmm maybe people who do that (2 user names in same forum), and manage not to screw it up while talking with themselves are actually candidates to be CIA agents?
The worst is places that require 4 or more letters in the username and in those cases I secretly hope they go out of business and all the developers get bad diarrhea.
I generally either use TheCO2 (sometimes uncapitalized) or A Dead Relative. I guess it just depends on the site.
And as @awk pointed out, I have avoided the 4 letter requirement, since I put ‘the’ on the beginning.
I have a long form username that’s never taken by other people. It’s long and obnoxious, though, and clearly a username I made when I was a preteen. It shortens to “Kawa” and people call me that, but I’m not the only Kawa on the Internet.
They’re consistent because well, it’s always me underneath.
Had an ex who was harassing me on the net (he was 53 years old, get a fucking life dude) so I changed to Fuzzalina. Someone playing Ingress with us kept calling me Fuzzalini, pronounced like Mussalini, and I thought that was pretty funny, so it stuck.

Same one for most forum/discussion places. Been using it since I was a teenager, even had it as my license plate for a while. I use variations on my real name for financial sites and other more “official” purposes.
Luckily, my username rarely taken on most sites. I switched to this one when my original one in the mid 90’s was colliding with someone else on Undernet IRC. (Who knew that multiple people on the internet would be fans of Niven’s Kzinti.)
My user name is 1 of 2 thing ragingredd or my first letter of my first name and then last name followed by my birth year or If that’s not available 123 it’s the password that get me cause you need cap special chariture and numbers
What kind of crazy person uses the same overly recognizable username across similar sites?
@Thumperchick I dunno. That would be nuts.
@Thumperchick
I know, right?!?
On one site I’m gumsaplingnilpasmug, and on another I’m chewinggumuggniwehc…
@Thumperchick That is just crazy.
@Thumperchick The ones of us that no longer have the memory to handle multiple sites (aka Old People)
@Thumperchick sick, sick people.
@Thumperchick I would never do that.
some websites let you have longer usernames.
My username never seems to be taken.
Sometimes I have to be JoetatoChap if it’s too popular of a site.
Depends on the website…
@mfladd hmm interesting crop there
i like the whole comic better though
tagging @thumperchick in advanced in case this is too umm nsfw
@communist I would have certainly used that one had I found it. Nice!
@communist This needs to be stolen and posted on my Facebook.
I’ve been using this username and no other since 1994, and I see no reason to change that. It’d be like changing my real name at this point.
@rprebel Same here.
@rprebel 1996 here.
The more interesting question may have been: “Do you have more than one username on the same site, and if so, do you use them in the forum and end up talking to yourself (as a different username) either purposefully or accidentally?”
Fuck. I just realized I am so high.
@Pavlov here is some Sir Sly for you…
@thismyusername I’m so high I didn’t get it at first.
@Kidsandliz It’s complicated.
@Pavlov Hmm maybe people who do that (2 user names in same forum), and manage not to screw it up while talking with themselves are actually candidates to be CIA agents?
@Kidsandliz
Are you TRYING to expose
@ThomasF@woodhouse ?!?@Kidsandliz Well, it is too late now to ask Chuck Barris.
@Pavlov
I have a hard time keeping a straight face talking to anyone named Chuck.
I can’t even say the name without a giggle or a smirk.
@Pavlov
Nah.
@kittysprinkles isn’t nearly as terrifying as @mfladd.
Although it’s not fair to compare them, since mfladd tries to be scary, while kittysprinkles was born this way.
@Pavlov Turn your life into a game and stream it on twitch.tv
If it’s popular enough, maybe Amazon will pick up a season.
@mflassy He’s just sadly attempting to cover up what a marshmallow he is
@Pavlov @2many2no
@thismyusername hahaha…I was looking for that clip earlier. Nice!!!
@KittySprinkles Biiiiiiiiiiatch!
@mfladd
Nice try.
The worst is places that require 4 or more letters in the username and in those cases I secretly hope they go out of business and all the developers get bad diarrhea.
@awk
I will keep that in mind when making my next app.
Hmm. This thread brings up thoughts of multiple ip addresses for more effective trolling.
Nope.
I generally either use TheCO2 (sometimes uncapitalized) or A Dead Relative. I guess it just depends on the site.

@Kawa KawaBungaDude!
Had an ex who was harassing me on the net (he was 53 years old, get a fucking life dude) so I changed to Fuzzalina. Someone playing Ingress with us kept calling me Fuzzalini, pronounced like Mussalini, and I thought that was pretty funny, so it stuck.
I do use a different name on another “deal” website, but the name is a deeply guarded secret.
I’ve got a few I tend to use, depending on the whim of the moment. They are rarely taken, but it always makes me wonder when they are.
How to figure out a good username:

E- Already N- Already W- Already
F- Already O- Already X- Already
G- Already P- Already Y- Already
H- Already Q- Already Z- Already
I- Already R- Already
Step 2: Take the first letter of your last name and match with the corresponding word
A- Taken J- Taken S- Taken
B- Taken K- Taken T- Taken
C- Taken L- Taken U- Taken
D- Taken M- Taken V- Taken
E- Taken N- Taken W- Taken
F- Taken O- Taken X- Taken
G- Taken P- Taken Y- Taken
H- Taken Q- Taken Z- Taken
I- Taken R- Taken
Hope you got a good one!
@MarilynOnMars It’s Already Taken. https://meh.com/@AlreadyTaken

Wait … there are OTHER sites?
@rockblossom The (inter)net is vast and wide
My username is also my site so that’s kind of meta, eh…
My user name is 1 of 2 thing ragingredd or my first letter of my first name and then last name followed by my birth year or If that’s not available 123 it’s the password that get me cause you need cap special chariture and numbers
