Do you have an item from a Fuko(u) that you use everyday?
5Every morning I go over and hit play on my iPod that sits in a Sherwood dock I received in a Fuko (or was it a Fuku?). The dock had a 30 pin connector, so it works with my 2005 iPod just fine. Beats having the iPod connected to power with a headphone jack running to the hifi.
What about you? (and if you’ve never gotten a Fuko(u), sorry. I’m sure you’ll get one someday, then you can comment!)

I don’t buy Fukos, since I work here, but I once got a silicone kitchen brush in a BoC that I use all the time. Probably weekly.
Here’s a ridiculous thing to do with them that I love - I melt some butter in a bowl and brush the butter onto my (and my wife’s) toast. It works so much better than a knife (and you can get extra butter, which is bad for you but so good).
@dave I paid for my silicone brush like a sucker. But I use it to oil the waffle iron, for pastry baking, and for basting. It’s pretty great!
No. Gimme another Fuko and I’ll try again.
I’d like to be able to say that I use my Napoleon Dynamite trash can everyday, but I don’t.
Got an ipup. Been using it as my computer speaker ever since.
Nope. Only 1 fuku and nothing useful in it.
Of course I do.
@ELUNO I am scared to even ask.
Yep, a 24 Oz Bubba bottle that I got in the most recent Fuko. I keep three of them filled with ice water so I don’t have to refill as often. (I drink a lot of water.)
definitely! i received seven or eight emerson (yes, not the best brand but, hey) 32" led hd tvs in a fuko last year. not all worked but i was able to get four of them going. they are all used on a daily basis. i also got a roomba in a fuko in 2015 and use it occasionally. there are some other smaller items that i use regularly but they just aren’t coming to mind.
Yes! I use the cardboard box that one of my Fukos came in as a receptacle for junk mail before recycling.

I got a turtle beach headset in one of the early fukos, used it every time I worked from home (~2 days a week). Sadly broke a lil while ago.
Not a fuko, but in a similar vein, I use one of my 30 built NY cases every day for my gameboy.
@MrGlass my daughter just went on a high adventure trip. She needed something to protect her camera lenses… Out came the built bags!!
Not sure if this counts but I got a busted video surveillance system with DVR… I took the 320GB hard drive out and put it in a home server and it is running 24/7.
Also one time I got an ice cream maker and I use it a lot. There was nothing wrong with it, not even used, somebody apparently just opened the box and said “nope”. Most recently I put egg nog in it, straight from the supermarket.
There might be other stuff that I can’t think of right now. I use a lot of meh/woot purchases every day and maybe one of them is from a fuko.
@awk how well did the eggnog freeze and cream up? Sounds tasty! Chocolate milk might be good too!
My pediatric humidifier! I don’t have kids or understand why it was branded that way but I use it every day in the winter.
I got a Sphero in one of my Fukos and my daughter plays with it almost daily.
Every day? No. But if I shave my face outside of a showering/bathing situation, I need to tie my hair back, and for whatever reason I always use one of the scrunchies from the Hello Kitty scrunchy tree for that instead of a normal hair tie I would wear in public.
Got a Palo Alto Bluetooth speaker. Sounds amazing. Still use it for D&D atmosphere music or the occasional house party jams.
I got one of these in my Kickstarter Fuku. It’s been kickin out tha jamz on my nightstand ever since.
I use the USB Hub man everyday to charge phone, power packs.
It’s not every day, but the fuku/fuko tote bags are probably the most useful things I’ve gotten. Also, my boyfriend got an iPhone case in one of his that I started using recently when my other case broke.
I haven’t gotten a Fuko(u) at all, and I live daily with disappointment, so there’s that.
I use the tote bag pretty frequently for groceries or other small items. Does that count? I’d definitely use my 2-foot tall CRAIG bluetooth speaker/radio more often if I didn’t share a paper-thin wall with a roommate. If only I’d gotten off-brand bluetooth headphones instead!
I got hundreds of scratch 'n sniff popcorn stickers that didn’t actually smell like anything. For a while I kept sending a friend postcards covered in them.
i’d never heard of fukubox until today. i googled and i’m kind of confused. it seems to be just band merch? or is it just band merch today and it will be something different tomorrow or next week/month?
also…this guy had never heard of or gotten a grab bag until he went to japan seven or eight years ago? that’s kind of sad. back in HS (in the US) one of the things we’d do when skipping class was go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of grab bags. fun times. also a common party favor at little kid birthdays.
@jerk_nugget the fukubukuros here are all random items and some Meh.com swag usually.
@jerk_nugget fukubox is someone else’s specific box. Fukobukuro just means lucky bag in Japanese.
@RiotDemon isn’t it fuku is lucky and fuko is unlucky? I know they changed it officially somewhere along the way.
@ninjaemilee oops, yep. Fukubukuro is lucky.
I was watching a YouTuber in Japan and apparently if your bag isn’t necessarily lucky, they’ll sometimes refer to them as “depression bags” lol
@RiotDemon that seems fitting.
@RiotDemon ahh, thank you. i knew about the word for luckybag, but since there was another deal site with that name, i wasn’t sure if it was about that or something sold here. anyway, thank you for clearing that up
Self elevated kitchen utensils are used almost daily in this household, along with Built NY tablet cases to tote around pens and pencils for drawing at work.
A coffee grinder from a BOC gets used almost daily. A nice wooden pepper grinder also from BOC. Probably some other things. An old Neato that I got in a Fuku gets used a few times a week. Two shredded memory foam pillows are always on the bed.
I know this is an old topic but surely someone has received something useful in a Fuko in the last 18 months…right???
Mine would have to be a Logitech Harmony Ultimate One remote. Best thing ever that I didn’t even realize I needed.
Not almost daily but I used the heck out of a little steamer when I removed wallpaper from a bathroom.
@sammydog01
?
The one from Fuko 18?
That’s a difficult question to answer when your fuko count is “0”.
@mfladd still sorry
I got some hairgel in a community Fuko – and I use it pretty regularly.
Umm… I read my Hollywood moms book every single da… I can’t even finish that sentence.
My wife does use our Ninja blender a lot, but I think that’s about it.
No
My wife uses the steamer @sammydog01 mentioned with some frequency.
We are using the steak knives from an earlier fuko because they were better than the crappy knives that came with an otherwise very nice knife set.
The brown (meh) Meh t-shirt is my car wipe rag. The nicer ones were purchased and are worn normally
The Meh stickers grace our deskside trashcans
The mug with the skull in it went to work where it is enjoyed.
and the bags… we use the Fuko bags all the time for carryalls.
Not every day, but I use my mushroom dekstop vacuum weekly.
@thismyusername
Got two in a Mexchange. Tried one, but it didn’t really help me.
Ended up giving them away in a different Mehxchange (to two different mehmbers I believe).
@thismyusername it also moves by itself.
I got a sweet sound bar a while back…use it everyday! Direct TV was even jealous…then I told him it cost $5.
The last Fuko I got Bluetooth devices. I use the earbuds at the gym and a Bluetooth speaker is connected to my fire stick.
