Actually according to research it doesn’t really matter what you drink (yes alcohol is dehydrating) but coffee, tea and juice, it all counts towards your 8 glasses of water a day.
Ah the whole “you have to drink just water” and have to have “6 to 8 cups a day” myth or “two liters myth”.
All based on pseudoscience.
Yes, you need to stay hydrated, yes water is a great source of hydration. It’s by and large one of the healthiest ways to get hydrated…
but in moderation eating fresh fruit, black coffee, fresh veggies, etc are great hydration methods too.
In most healthy individuals your body (until you get old at least) will tell you when you need to drink… And drinking a lot of water is a great way to temporarily fool your belly into not telling you “let’s eat”.
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise (and always trust your doctor over some random person on the Internet), or your pee is consistently dark in colour, chances are you’re drinking enough water regardless of what some Internet meme tells you… Even if you rarely drink “water”.
@OnionSoup All true - but dehydration in the elderly can be a real problem; my mother has memory problems and they get a lot worse when she hasn’t had enough fluids; it makes it seem like her dementia is far worse than it actually is.
The more important question is whether I drink enough blood of the non believers.
I always have a bottle of water at arms length @ home or work!
@mycya4me How do you drink it from that distance?
@mycya4me, me too. Maybe one day I’ll start reaching for it and drinking out of it.
@kittykat9180 When they are close by, I guess I go through several bottles a day, a sip at a time! Also I got used to room temp water. NO Ice!
I work phone customer service and I drink between 2 to 3 liters a day. I’d be super hoarse otherwise.
@kjady
??
Coffee, soda, tea, and beer are all made with water, so yeah, I drink enough water.
@hchavers Naw. you body has to work harder to get the Water & strip the other parts from the drink.
@hchavers @mycya4me but they all still hydrate and provide water. He’s getting enough water
Some ingredients in some of those drinks might not be 100% healthy due to other ingredients, but he’s still getting the water he needs.

i’m still alive so yes i drink enough, but i feel better if i drink more than enough
@spacemart Good answer.
@Kyeh @spacemart It works, unless you drink too much, which is actually possible - and easier than one might think.
@spacemart lol… That was my immediate thought too.
I generally drink more than enough because I’m generally careful about making sure there’s a toilet nearby.
@Salanth You drink from a toilet?
@Salanth, but just generally, right?
I just had a conversation yesterday with a friend about how drinking enough water has been my lifelong battle.
But mostly when attempting swimming. (plenty of Vitamin P)

Confusion is a major symptom of a UTI in older people And they can get confusion very very very badly from UTIs.
@Kyeh @OnionSoup @Star2236 one time I was confused THAT I had a UTI and thought my new girlfriend gave me a STD. That was a bad week.
@OnionSoup @Star2236 With my mother it’s just advanced old age.

Some believe Pluto is covered with this poison. Be warned.
@PlutoIsAPlanet are all of the flavors mixed, or does each flavor have its own geographic territory?
@werehatrack good question, mixed. Some nitrogen ice, some water ice.
@PlutoIsAPlanet But no peach? Eh, count me out.
@PlutoIsAPlanet @werehatrack
Oops. Wrong.
Pluto is a dog.

@f00l @PlutoIsAPlanet @werehatrack Definitely too much DHMO on that one.
