@username +1. It's a spare power lead for adding stuff like camera gimbal, aux LED, etc. If it bothers you sticking out there, put a small piece of shrink tube over it (or vinyl electricians tape) and shove it back up inside the hole from whence it came. :-)
@username If you take the body apart there should be plenty of wire before it gets to that hole.
As far as cases there are backpacks on eBay for $40 that fit everything in custom foam cutouts. I made one using a Plano tactical case (a lot like a pelican case) for mine. https://drone.horse/forum/topics/phantom350-size-tactical-hard-case has the details. Holds Phantom with props removed, extra props, extra batteries, charger, cables, transmitter, and more with a slot for everything. I did a ton of research and it's the cheapest hard case I could find that would fit the phantom. Most are not quite deep enough.
hey guys I didnt wan't to make another thread for this but I was looking for cheap gimbal for the phantom v1.1.1 is this one worth buying? what do you guys have or are getting for your v1.1.1 also battery upgrade was reading about black magic 3000s?
@sp3ar Most of us have some iteration of that Chinese gimbal. I have the "light" version. Mine has the BGC controller. I think @garyhgaryh's is also the BGC.
@sportykev has one, I think from Banggood, but it came with a different controller board.
@nltownsend has the Walkera G-2d plastic gimbal. I don't own one of those, but I will eventually. They're inexpensive, well made, very lightweight and repair parts are a dime a dozen if you break an arm or crack a mount. Plus they implement Walkera's awesome rail mount system.
I have the light Chinese BGC, a couple of Walkera G-2d's, a Walkera G-3D and I just received the new FeiYu Tech MiNi 3D (which I'm loving for now).
Totally have the BGC, I believe Banggood calls it the 'Eachine BGC'. I paid $50.99 for the 2D though it looks like price has dropped since. Wiring up wasn't terrible, lots of YouTube videos though many show different wiring so a lot of trial and error. Not to mention this board has been really helpful.
@sp3ar I have the multistage 4000 and love 'em. They're only $29 right now at hobby king. May pick up a few more. Will the 6000 fit the battery bay of the p111?

Auxiliary power leads for stuff like gimbals.

Thanks!
weird that they are so short, it would be some precision welding.
Next question. Has anyone figured out a cool/affordable way to carry this without dis-assembly? pelican case or alternatives? damn thing is huge.

@sp3ar Which gimbal were you considering? Link?
@sp3ar I bought a $54 gimbal and it has worked fine for me. I now have a Walkera G-3D, but haven't installed it yet.

i bought multistars 6000s for my f550 but I haven't seen many good reviews on them in general i saw a review where someone talked about these giving them good flight time http://www.banggood.com/BlackMagic-3000mAh-11_1V-Battery-For-DJI-PHANTOM-CX-20-Quanum-Nova-p-946803.html

@garyhgaryh definately not but those blackmagics are cheaper and free shipping......
@sp3ar Same price, different supplier, claiming a slightly shorter lead time. If you don't like Banggood, here's an option. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/BlackMagic-3000mAh-11-1V-Battery-For-DJI-PHANTOM-CX-20-Quanum-Nova/32410379026.html
@garyhgaryh Gary, IIRC, that 4000 won't fit inside the P1, right?
@ruouttaurmind it will fit but you'll have to make the opening a little larger.
@garyhgaryh u mean the ms 4000 are $19 (not $29)
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=66482
if you read at the bottom someone reviewed the multistars to not be that good when you put all that extra weight on the p111 gary how long do you get with gimbal and all on yours? with the 4000s?

@ruouttaurmind maybe I wanted to force him to check it on his own accord >:D
@sp3ar Use the force sp3ar, use the force... ;-)
@sp3ar 13 minutes! With vtx. Orig batteries with Dane setup is about 6 minutes.
