Today’s stoned gnomes have generated spirited debate. What say you? Should meh stick to battery packs and switchblades or delve deeper into the Spencer’s Gifts liquidation warehouse?
@Kyeh Some, but they’re all from thrift stores, like the dozen CatLadyBox shirts I recently acquired.
(Then again, the majority of my shirt.woot collection and a number of Teeturtle shirts were purchased second hand too – especially after the blanks changed.)
@narfcake the hardest part of waking up is deciding which cat-shirt to wear. Also, you’ve reminded me to rotate my fall cat-shirts to the front of the closet, thanks!
@DLPanther@narfcake I have to go meet with a C.P.A. tomorrow and can’t decide if I should wear a “shirt with buttons on it ” or a cat shirt. Wait, I’m paying him, so that’s probably answered!
@Kyeh In my opinion though something like dope gnomes means that the “once in a while” only is important. There are other less weird, but still different than the usual things that are different that I’d vote for more. The issue with me is the druggy user side of them. The spider decorated ones were, in my opinion, a better choice.
@Kidsandliz It doesn’t bother me - pot is legal here, and I’d rather be in a crowd of drowsy stoners than a bunch of rowdy drunks.
The Sidedeal gnomes don’t appeal to me mainly because they’re kind of ugly. These guys are funny, and well done for what they are.
Definitely appreciate this kind of weird. You never know what’s going to take off, like the $5 micro drones that inspired a whole website. Plus it’s just nice to see something different.
I know we started on the wrong day for this but maybe make Weird Shit Wednesday a thing?
@yakkoTDI And a decent under-3.5" one that has a pushbutton lock instead of a lockback or (triple-ugh) frame lock would be particularly welcome for me. I can modify a lockback to make it a straight pressure-detent easily enough, but frame locks are just a pain in the ass that I can’t easily modify into anything tolerable.
@Cerridwyn@yakkoTDI You just reminded me that I need to haul the S.O. out to Woodcraft to pick the scales to make the grip of what will be his new santoku knife.
I’m personally not into marijuana myself, but I like the direction Meh took of trying something a little bit more fun and a little bit more different.
I show up each day hoping for crazy items (like you used to sell more frequently).
Honestly, it’s all the food items that make me want to quit coming back at times. The gluten free puffs of whatever make me want to leave, the gnomes bring me back and keep me firmly seated.
You’re telling me that you had a meh-rathon on the books but you chose to offer those dumb gnomes on their own? My answer has changed to “Yes, you’ve strayed from the light.”
Were you ever in the light to begin with? It’s always been about duplicating the profits enough to repeat the same process and reach an ever increasing market.
Nothing to worry about here, Big Pharma’s gonna help you. Pay no attention to the “May cause death” small print. Oh yeah, and that will be $1,000 a month.
Novelty is the way. But for Meh, the nomes while really cool who has $30 to waste.
The proper use of gnomes.

@blaineg It’s a recurring story bit. Garden gnomes vs. garden ninjas warfare.
@blaineg one could shorten garden ninja to ganja.
@blaineg @mschuette ISWYDT
I prefer the
what the fuck is this shit I’m seeingrandomness – though if you’re really going to conjure up Spencer’s leftovers, I can haz catshirts?@narfcake So narfcake - I was wondering, what was your very first cat shirt?!
@Kyeh
/showme a Felix the Cat T-shirt from the 1980s
@narfcake EXCELLENT choice!
Do you have many non-Woot, non-TeeTurtle cat shirts? I got some nice ones from Uniqlo before they got all boring.
@Kyeh Some, but they’re all from thrift stores, like the dozen CatLadyBox shirts I recently acquired.
(Then again, the majority of my shirt.woot collection and a number of Teeturtle shirts were purchased second hand too – especially after the blanks changed.)
@narfcake cat-shirts cat-shirts my wardrobe is made of cat-shirts
@DLPanther I only wear catshirts on days that end in ‘y’.
@narfcake the hardest part of waking up is deciding which cat-shirt to wear. Also, you’ve reminded me to rotate my fall cat-shirts to the front of the closet, thanks!

Have we alighted from the Stray?

@f00l That was an interesting game.
I’m happy to see something totally strange and amusing once in a while; that was always a fun part of past Mehrathons.

@Kyeh I don’t like any of them. Good thing we all don’t have the same tastes or meh (and especially morning save) would go broke.
@Kidsandliz I didn’t buy them, but I wasn’t offended by them.
Woohoo, (s)he’s back
Weirdness is good
/showme Keep Meh Weird
@mediocrebot that’s actually not bad. Can you do that on a wall at Meh HQ? I’ll bring you a spare R.
/showme psychedelic poster of KEEP MEH WEIRD
/showme Keep Leucadia Weird
@mediocrebot Werd.
Definitely appreciate this kind of weird. You never know what’s going to take off, like the $5 micro drones that inspired a whole website. Plus it’s just nice to see something different.
I know we started on the wrong day for this but maybe make Weird Shit Wednesday a thing?
@djslack
Vote for Weird Shit Wednesday
Beats the alternative?
@djslack So down for Weird Shit Wednesday
@djslack I think this is the way to do it. If I know that every Wednesday is going to be garbage, I can skip looking that day.
The randomer the better.
SWITCHBLADES??? You sold switchblades…?? How did I miss that?
oh, and weird is good.
@chienfou IT WASN’T A PHASE, MOM
@chienfou @jouest Switchblades? I think you’re lying!
Prove me wrong.
Not really interested in switchblades but a good fixed blade stabber would be nice.
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI
I’d prefer about 35 inches, damaskas steel
I nice Ebony hilt,
@Cerridwyn @yakkoTDI You just reminded me that I need to haul the S.O. out to Woodcraft to pick the scales to make the grip of what will be his new santoku knife.
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI very nice. Pictures when it’s done
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI I’ve recently picked up a couple of Civivi button locks, and I may have a new addiction.
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI
@yakkoTDI Hahaha for a second I read that as back stabber.
@blaineg Oooooohh, nice!
I miss the goofy stuff.
I didn’t care for these particular gnomes, but I absolutely bought the Artie McPhee inflatable turkey during a mehrathon, so I say go for the odd!
/showme novelty funny inflatables based on food
I think it’s fun, I want my crazy items.

@OnionSoup one might argue that the more you enjoy the gnomes, the more you’ll appreciate the puffs
@jouest @OnionSoup
FIFY:
one might argue that the more you enjoy the “puffs”, the more you’ll appreciate the gnomes and the more you’ll relish the puffs!
YW…
@OnionSoup I agree with the total disinterest in all the food items.
And in all honesty . . .
Have we ever been in the light?
Really?
/showme the dark side of Meh
/showme Meh straying from the light
@mediocrebot in my rare temporary position of honor I say that should have been a goat instead.
/showme a goat in place of the sheep
Absolutely uninterested in drug culture; not opposed to quirkiness in a Mehrathon, though. It’s a waste of a VMP fee (to me) as a daily deal.
You’re telling me that you had a meh-rathon on the books but you chose to offer those dumb gnomes on their own? My answer has changed to “Yes, you’ve strayed from the light.”
@Willijs3
Were you ever in the light to begin with? It’s always been about duplicating the profits enough to repeat the same process and reach an ever increasing market.
@Jamileigh17 Oooh, harsh!
Perhaps the better question is not whether meh has strayed from the light, but why it’s still chasing that little red dot.
@werehatrack prey instinct
@jouest @werehatrack
/image cat shirt red dot what is it
/image dare to stay off drugs
@medz in an ironic twist @ username is “medz”
