Did you dress up for Halloween?
19We were talking about Halloween in several topics and costumes came up. So who actually dressed up this year?
Once again, my pictures aren’t great. I’m waiting for someone that came by with a DSLR to send me photos. I’m hoping they came out alright. That might be weeks before I get them though. By that time, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be on everyone’s mind.
My scythe is in the background. I’m not sure why I wasn’t holding it for the photo. It’s 8-9’ long and decorates my living room all year long.
My wings do move, and the span is about 12-13’, but I’m not crazy about how they look. They need something. Real feathers would cost probably around $400-500, so that’s not happening. I’ve thought about making fake ones. I just didn’t have time.

Apparently I was really scary again this year. I made a few people cry. I posed for lots of photos too.
Not as many people came by. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a Monday, or because the city I was in did a Trunk or Treat on Halloween. Maybe I should go haunt there instead next year.
@RiotDemon
Insane costume. Excellent.
No I did not bother. I suppose I dressed as a longhorn fan.
@RiotDemon Love it!
@sammydog01 @f00l
Thank you!
@RiotDemon I’d only cry if you were a clown.
@Rakaim
/giphy scary clown
@sammydog01 apparently that gif is from Krampus, I guess I’ll have to watch it now.
@RiotDemon that is awesome! you know we need a picture showing the wing span, right? did you make the whole thing yourself?
@carl669 I actually don’t have a picture of the entire wing span yet. I’m hoping the person with the good camera actually got some.
I pretty much made most of it. I bought the gloves, the skull on my scythe, and the mask. I repainted the skull and the mask. The mask was actually blue. I hated it… But it was either that or a red one. All the other skull masks sucked the year I bought it. I went everywhere trying to find just the right one.
Making the horns was really fun. It’s just newspaper, aluminum foil, glue gun, paint, and a headband.
@carl669 if I don’t get a picture from anyone that took them this year, I’ll put my outfit back on and have my mom come over for some photos.
Just the costume I wear every day- fully functional adult who totally has his shit together.
yes, we were Dog and Beth, fun!
@moonhat were the clothes already in your closet?
@RiotDemon yes but we modified them, you know
@moonhat
@moonhat I didn’t mean it as a diss, I’m sorry if it came out that way. I like when people are creative with the stuff they already have! Most people just buy a bagged costume and that’s it.
You guys look great!
yes, as an old fat man, people didn’t comment on my costume
@Yoda_Daenerys every day look?
Dressed the @PuppyCat as Meowth (that’s right!) - oldest niece went as Pikachu, @humper & I were Team Ratchet (Team Rocket on a budget - duct tape “R” on a white hoodie, red bouncy ball with White GITD Duct Tape and black electrical tape on it to make a Pokeball.)
@Thumperchick I love Meowth! Team ratchet sounds hilarious. Any photos by any chance?
@RiotDemon Reload.
Team Ratchet fell apart after several blocks. My “R” started to fall off my shirt. Probably because I chucked that pokeball at niece-pikachu, while yelling “POKEBALL GO!” and she hurled a handful of GITD bracelets at me and yelled “THUNDERBALL!” - we hit each other in the face. My R fell off.
Between that and the fact that my other half decided to top off his costume with his Rainbow Dash hat, we were perfectly Ratchet.
@Thumperchick eeeeeeeeeeee, the Meowth costume is wonderful!
@RiotDemon My sister made it. She’s awesome like that.
@RiotDemon @Thumperchick That is the cutest Meowth I’ve ever seen. Props to the seamstress aunt, too.
@Thumperchick Oh wow, it totally looks like official merchandise. She did an awesome job!
@ELUNO I know right? It’s an Old Navy baby bunting suit and a few sheets of felt fabric.
We did The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia at our church trunk or treat. I was the mop.
I missed Halloween but I am living it through the pictures posted here! Post more!
Well, I didn’t go to work naked, if that’s what you’re asking.
I was a 9 ft. clown
@mg2175
Wow well done.
@f00l damn that’s scary…did u off anyone?
@mg2175 super creepy group!
I had one guy come by that was dressed as a creepy jester that made these platform boots out of 2x4s. It added about 12" to his height. I wore 4" platform boots and I was comparing my boots against his. I’d probably break my neck, lol
I’m glad to see that people still dressed as clowns even with all the crap happening.
This was as far as I got:

Bro…you didn’t have time??? You gotta MAKE time for awesome things like fake wings. Super creepy costume. . .good job making people cry!
@jamminonthejuan I made the wings at least. In the dark they look like bat wings. When I had people that were standing there staring at me, unsure what to do… I would step towards them really quickly and extend the wings. I got a lot of people like that.
I dress up every day?
@cranky1950 Chuck E Cheese?
Only if you count my star trek TNG uniform hoodie…(operations gold fyi)
The band I was in that had its last gig fifteen years ago played a reunion concert Saturday. I slapped on a martini apron and a chef’s hat. I’m not good at dress-up.

I actually dressed up twice, though the first time was Friday. We had a department theme contest. My department won, I think mostly because everyone dressed up on theme (Hogwarts). Our decorating was great, but other departments did better on that front.
For Halloween itself, I was Magneto in street clothes. Basically I took a magenta shirt I had from my cousin’s wedding, and hid some magnets in the cuff. I loved people reacting when they realized I wasn’t joking about wearing a costume.
The party I went to this year had a theme of Trump vs Mexico. Here was our costume:
