@sohmageek baby wipes for the win. Got the package yesterday and showed the wife. Guess how much these cost Sam?...i dunno like $12? Shit no, try like $6!
@studerc $6? how many wipes you get? i used two different accounts to get 2x 6 pack of 80 count wipes for $4.40 each. amazon element wipes... they are almost twice as thick as the 80 count wipes we get at Walmart for .98 cents and these came out to be something like .75 per pack. nothing huge but when you use wipes everyday id say amazon hooked me up on prime day :) ... it's like a boc, as long as you don't have high hopes, you can probably get something useful for fairly cheap.
@mehybe@studerc I had a few coworkers help me out... I told them buy it at $4.40 I'll give you $6, they didn't make much, but most of them were like No just give me $5... I told them absolutely not, we agreed upon $6. So... all in all I ended up with 4-5 boxes depending... One coworker said he was going to try them and see if he liked them first... if not I could have them for free. I Told him I'd buy them off of him.. even though it's not much I can't just take it for free... He has 3 kids now too... and one is in diapers still... I prefer the ones with the pop up top...
I got the UPS I was wanting for my modem and router, got a great deal. Other than missing a fire stick, I had a good prime day... too many people lurking amazon too few to meet demand. I think amazon is facing over popularity. The Peak is Near!
@rileyper sad thing about most of the things that sold out in less than a few seconds is that most are likely resellers.
Heard stories about people adding some things to cart right as they went on sale, and they already sold out by the time that cart loaded (fire stick being one of those).
I thought about buying a Fire Phone on eBay for $30 less than Amazon's price on Prime Day, but then I realized 15 isn't even a prime number. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171855373654
got a thermal camera that plugs into my cell phone for $60 off, so that was nice. Will use it for energy audits, electrical/mechanical work and possibly wildlife/hunting purposes.
This still has to be my favorite twitter comment from the Prime Day disaster.

Got a Mccormick spice rack thats wall mountable and came with 24 spices for $48 so that was a pretty decent deal. Also some microfiber clothes. Whooo.
I did however, see that cheap Makita impact driver which led me to looking and found Bosch has a deal on amazon where you get a free high capacity battery with any 18v tools so so I got the drill/driver set and a free $120 battery completed unrelated to the prime day sales.
I did however, mount the shit out of that cheapo spice rack. It is not coming off the wall any time soon.
@mehdaf There is nothing quite like impacting a hot mountable rack.
And hot it is. Came with 6 different kinds of chilis. Chili Powder, Chipotle Powder, Ancho Powder, Red Pepper Flakes, Paprika and Cayenne. Going to add some to everything randomly now.
i wanted to get the fire stick but lost out. but i did get the "Moone Boy" hardcover, 5-port gigabit switch, some stretch exercise band things and trachea treats for my dog.
Like I said in another thread, I got the Anova sous vide cooker for $140 instead of $200 (thanks to The Wirecutter). For the first test we made eggs this morning (13 minutes at 167° F). I wasn't expecting much but it was the best egg I've ever made. I'm still surprised at how good it was. Tomorrow I'm trying swordfish for dinner.
@SSteve How did you do the egg, hard boiled or in a bag? I backed it on Kickstarter and its pretty great for making chicken breast, porkchops or such. Can even marinate in a plastic bag and freeze it and then SV it straight from frozen. Did a turkey breast last Christmas too that came out almost disturbingly juicy. Never tried eggs though.
@bph I just put the egg in the water. It doesn't come out hard boiled. The yolk isn't runny but it's still soft. I'm not good at describing flavor but it had a sweetness and richness that I've never gotten from boiling. Here's the recipe. I just used wheat toast and avocado. I didn't have English muffins and spinach on hand.
@SSteve That does sound pretty good but I am not a fan of runny yolks. Were they solid and soft, or liquidy like in her picture? I could probably do it a bit longer or hotter and get soft but solid eggs to use. With some veggies and english muffin it would be tasty. Taking the time to heat the SV water first thing in the morning would suck though. I am consistently too lazy to use it for dinner since using a pan seems so much easier most of the time.
Hey meh, how about we get a day where you sell the vacuum sealers, especially a wet capable one for cheap? There would be much rejoicing.
My favorite part about prime day is that they tons of deals which "sold out" faster then any human could click on it. However, you could still buy the item at the full price. #Primeday
I got an Allen bike rack for 20% off regular price - Woo Hoo!. But then I checked Camelizer and found it had been 37% off on a one-day sale a week before. So, just Woo!.
@katylava - I have an a-hole cat, too. Take the cover off the dog bed, and wrap the dog bed in an appropriate sized thick (3 or 5 mil) garbage bag, then re-cover. All the urine destroyer in the world won't get the scent out of the deep-soaked padding, and the cat will keep going back. Sealing it in the thick bag will, and will also make cleanup much easier next time. My dogs don't mind at all.
Weird thing; Prime Day morning I checked here to see if anyone was buying things and getting good deals. Someone said they got a great deal on baby wipes. A little later, as I walked thought the living room, I heard a reporter on a morning talk show say, "There really aren't any outstanding deals, but I did get a good deal on baby wipes."
Got a few Skylanders characters (whatever they are) as a gift for a friend's kid. I also got some hockey related toys for my son. The big score (some might disagree) was the Amazon Echo I purchased for my brother. (I already had one from the initial offering.) So, yeah, scored a few deals, but the overall experience was underwhelming. It was incredibly frustrating to see a new deal go "live" and you couldn't even select it to buy it. You had to have multiple browser tabs/windows open if you even considered the possibility of scoring a popular item.
I did not. Deals not good enough to part my money from me...
They made meh look mehvalous....
Something I was going to buy anyway happened to be on a $2 off flash sale, so I guess?
@Purplefeather Yep, this exactly.
@Purplefeather Same, my allergy pills were 2.00 off, worth refreshing the page all day.
I got baby wipes!
@sohmageek baby wipes for the win. Got the package yesterday and showed the wife. Guess how much these cost Sam?...i dunno like $12? Shit no, try like $6!

@mehybe The amount of math that went into that calculation is too much for my early Monday morning brain.
@mehybe @studerc I had a few coworkers help me out... I told them buy it at $4.40 I'll give you $6, they didn't make much, but most of them were like No just give me $5... @sohmageek @mehybe All I know now is I pay way too much for wipes.
However, both my kids have no outbreak issues with the brand I buy, so I'll probably just keep buying them. Two in diapers..what was I thinking.
@MrMark I think I know :)
I got the UPS I was wanting for my modem and router, got a great deal. Other than missing a fire stick, I had a good prime day... too many people lurking amazon too few to meet demand. I think amazon is facing over popularity. The Peak is Near!

Heard stories about people adding some things to cart right as they went on sale, and they already sold out by the time that cart loaded (fire stick being one of those).
@Nexar Even worse is when you consider some of those resellers are probably using programs to auto-buy, possibly even across several accounts.
They actually had a few good deals on school supplies that I stocked up for the upcoming school year.
There were 3 deals I was interested in enough to check out, and all 3 glitched and reloaded the page when I tried to add them to my cart.
I actually shipped them a return on Prime Day.
The mystery gift was a cookie. A single, shitty, cookie.
I thought about buying a Fire Phone on eBay for $30 less than Amazon's price on Prime Day, but then I realized 15 isn't even a prime number.

@nadroj it is in octal
@ThatsHeadly I would be all about that base, if I was missing two fingers.
I got kingsman for cheep but that was it
@Squid_07 Nice, me too!
@studerc i couldn't resist. .. trying to complete my Samuel L Jackson collection on dvd or bluray
@Squid_07 Talk about not being able to resist, I just couldn't help myself from sharing this....
got a thermal camera that plugs into my cell phone for $60 off, so that was nice.
Will use it for energy audits, electrical/mechanical work and possibly wildlife/hunting purposes.
I scored some good deals on ink pens and cat treats. (My inner twenty year old wants to punch me in the neck for typing that sentence.)
@oldenglishc Sooo ... what are you trying to bribe your cat to write?
@oldenglishc I want to punch you for still having an inner 20 year old.
@Marion14505 Great. Now he's spent the day locked in his room watching Donnie Darko and listening to Morrissey.

@mfladd I believe that idea was originally in an obituary of a Cleveland Browns fan
@mfladd yeah, that one was perfect.
@aleohansen I could understand that.
I got a good deal on a warehouse deals item, yay! But… it was broken, boo!
Got a Fitbit HR for 120. Unfortunately, apparently, Fitbit HRs don't really work. So meh.
Got a Mccormick spice rack thats wall mountable and came with 24 spices for $48 so that was a pretty decent deal. Also some microfiber clothes. Whooo.

@bph Good call, the best way to add spice to your life is with a mountable rack.
Dog food
i wanted to get the fire stick but lost out. but i did get the "Moone Boy" hardcover, 5-port gigabit switch, some stretch exercise band things and trachea treats for my dog.
I got the compression socks. Yes, I did. Really. There was a second pair offered later, but I am happy with my one pair.
No "Yes it was all crap!" option? It's like you don't even know your customers.
Was going to get some baby food for my grand but her Mom said it wasn't such a good deal.
It was almost like watching Woot rejects and Woot-Off leftovers that were sent back to Amazon put up as "deals".
No prime deals if you don't have prime. Not interested. Thank you! Come again!

@SSteve 13 minutes for an egg might as well be brunch.

I scored a $1400 laptop for $999.
http://www.amazon.com/HP-15-5010nr-Gaming-Notebook-Beats/dp/B00O0M750W
@Eddiegrau Interestingly, computers.woot has that on as a refurb today, same price.
I got the 32" LG Smart TV for $199. I've been wanting a TV for the bedroom and I'd rather buy it from Amazon than Walmart.
Does it count if I scored a non-prime day deal when I happened by an item I needed whilst wading through the utter shiat that was being offered?
My favorite part about prime day is that they tons of deals which "sold out" faster then any human could click on it. However, you could still buy the item at the full price. #Primeday
@Tom223 Could not agree more. Even items you would not expect to sell out were selling out instantly, but wait full price has plenty in stock!
Bought the 3 $15.00 gift cards that came with a $10.00 off code (Which I already used)
Bought a decent playmat for $5 off
@WilhelmScreamer I first read PlayMate.
Damn, how did I miss that one?
I got an Allen bike rack for 20% off regular price - Woo Hoo!. But then I checked Camelizer and found it had been 37% off on a one-day sale a week before. So, just Woo!.
I bought a gallon of urine destroyer, which I needed anyway, thanks to this asshole:
... who peed on that dog bed right after I took these photos.
Anyway, thought might as well save on it.
@katylava what product do you use? Our 2 dogs are good, but 1 or 2, of the 4 cats are pissing me off. I just bought angry orange to try.

B&D HandVac, new Crockpot, some chewy vitamins, and a batting tee! Score!! literally on the last one, SCORE!
Who needs Amazon and their fancy shoehorns? I scored this 30 inch one at the Dollar Tree, for a dollar of course.
I got a birdhouse and some jewelry that didn't look anywhere near as good in real life.
I might have bought the shoehorn if I saw it.
Choose one:
a) It wasn't about Optimus Prime. Lame!
b) Spent the day writing every prime number possible.
c) Received my order from Meh.com. Best Prime Day Ever!
I got a polarizer filter for my Canon EOS. $17 - not bad!
Got a few Skylanders characters (whatever they are) as a gift for a friend's kid. I also got some hockey related toys for my son. The big score (some might disagree) was the Amazon Echo I purchased for my brother. (I already had one from the initial offering.)
