My father had one of these when I was a kid:

It glowed brighter than they look in this picture; I thought it was enchanting.
We have drop moldings with light strips. But the lights in the master bedroom were pink. And there was a fireplace in the corner and a huge whirlpool tub in the middle of the room. I think the former owners maybe used to make movies.
@Kyeh yes they tore out the fireplace and tile before they left, along with other things like the kitchen sink and the house vac. We bought the house at auction and they showed up later to offer to sell us back all the stuff they took. They did leave the tub, for whatever reason. That monstrosity, though, I wish they would’ve taken.
We moved it out of the middle of the room and turned it back into the two bedrooms, bath, and closet it was originally.

I’ve never heard of someone tearing out stuff like tile and a fireplace and then trying to sell them back separately! And the KITCHEN SINK!

@Kyeh My wife got me one of these for xmas. Very similar to the upper left one in your pic. They are pretty hard to photograph well.
