We have drop moldings with light strips. But the lights in the master bedroom were pink. And there was a fireplace in the corner and a huge whirlpool tub in the middle of the room. I think the former owners maybe used to make movies.
@Kyeh yes they tore out the fireplace and tile before they left, along with other things like the kitchen sink and the house vac. We bought the house at auction and they showed up later to offer to sell us back all the stuff they took. They did leave the tub, for whatever reason. That monstrosity, though, I wish they would’ve taken.
We moved it out of the middle of the room and turned it back into the two bedrooms, bath, and closet it was originally.
@katbyter Yikes! A true fixer-upper.
I’ve never heard of someone tearing out stuff like tile and a fireplace and then trying to sell them back separately! And the KITCHEN SINK!
If you are on a phone, try turning the phone sideways; did a row of small icons just pop up in the edit window? If so, click on the little square one with the mountain range and moon in it, click on Upload, and then navigate to the one you want on your phone. If you’re on a PC, follow the instructions above from the “If so” point. More complicated help may still get you there if you’re on a phone but still didn’t get the icons.
This wrought iron lamp I got at a swap meet for $40. The local lighting repair shop estimated it to be from the 40s or 50s and made in Italy or France.

Plasma ball
@Wookee Plasma ball?
NEON!
My father had one of these when I was a kid:
Aerolux Figural Light Bulbs
It glowed brighter than they look in this picture; I thought it was enchanting.
@Kyeh My wife got me one of these for xmas. Very similar to the upper left one in your pic. They are pretty hard to photograph well.
@fibrs86 Very nice! Yeah, I guess they look best in low light but that makes it harder to photograph them.
Beer neons and dreamachines!
I have BOTH a Black lite & Lava Lamp both are really Kool. Also is a Plasma ball… I have a Mimi one!
Jacob’s ladder arc generator
Strobe Lights, until some kid gets sick or a seizure.
Bring back the good old incandescent bulb you commie treehuggers!
@tweezak no
@tweezak No! I prefer light without a lot of heat.
@yakkoTDI So no Easy-Bake Oven for you. You can toast your marshmallows in the comforting glow of your burning Tesla.
@tweezak My sister had an Easy-Bake Oven when we were young and anything that came out of it was barely better than mom’s cooking.

@katbyter Wow. You said “was” … are the fireplace and tub gone now?

@werehatrack I guess that admitting knowledge of the existence of ChatGPT would be against the First Rule of Bot Club.
