Waffled a bit on one vs two. Wish that there was more than one color but I do like it… So I got two. I’ve got a camping trip coming up so if it’s quick enough shipping I’ll be happy.
@mehvid1@PsykoDemun They’re usually dishwasher safe until they aren’t, when the method they used to seal the insulating layer fails and water gets in. Best to not use the super hot drying cycle.
The vacuum insulation on mine is for shit. Preheating it with boiling water, then filling with freshly brewed coffee at 7AM, the coffee is room temperature by about 2PM and is lukewarm by 10 or so. It does work better with iced stuff, keeping stuff cold for about eight hours.
My friend @meh (no relation to meh.com) also got one and hers keeps stuff hot or cold as expected. She is very happy with hers.
I presume that the vacuum seal on mine is kaput and that lack of quality control is why meh is selling these. Mine is noticeably cold or hot around the neck of the growler. Wrapping mine with a dishtowel does make it stay hot or cold longer but not one of my better meh.com purchases.
It is very, very teal tho, which makes it a bright, heavy, uninsulated half-gallon water bottle. Rather meh, all in all.
@baqui63 Many of these larger bottles only work well if kept upright. I have two identical ones which retain interior temps equally if standing up, but sag toward room temp much faster when laying down. If yours sags regardless, then yes, you’ve got one whose vacuum has been lost.

Just wanted to chime in and say that we bought one of these the first go around and love it. Holds loads and keeps hots hot and colds cold.
@Dynamik But does it growl at bad guys?

I bought one of these last time. It’s definitely worth the twenty bucks. I love it.
For those who have these or something very similar, what do you find is the easiest way to clean them (when they’re said to be “hand wash” only)?
@mehvid1 I buy the RTIC gallon jugs because I can fit my hand inside and clean them.
@mehvid1 Interestingly the one I received from last time says “Dishwasher Safe” on the bottom of the growler.

@mehvid1 I used a bottle brush. The kind intended for baby bottles works fine if it’s long enough to reach the bottom.
I got one of these from meh.com before.

@baqui63 hi
I plan to use this for refilling my 20 oz bottle to blend with protein powder on the go and for drinking water when 20 oz isn’t enough.
