Ok, I have to ask... who can identify the vehicle being "jumped" in the Amazon product page? I've never seen anything like that before and am very curious....
@xarous Perhaps, but I'm referring to the picture where the jumper cables are attached to what looks like a dedicated jumper plate and not directly to a battery, unlike the video. Meh.
@placeholder@xarous No, there's something particularly odd with that picture. It's a narrow compartment, not a regular engine bay. Notice the strut holding it open? It appears to be all the way on the right side meaning that's the full width of the compartment where the battery resides. It almost looks like some sort of specialty vehicle. Maybe an off road vehicle considering the dirt you can see in the grooves or even a boat if that's sand.
@Cinoclav Very nice point on the strut, I didn't think about the apparent width. I haven't seen many boatds with stamped steel construction for body panels, usually FRP. As you said, likely an offroad vehicle based on the evidence. Thanks for humoring this meh-gineer :)
@Cinoclav don't think it's a narrow compartment but a plastic engine cover on a modern vehicle. Battery relocated to the trunk so dedicated jump start terminals provided up front. That's my guess.
@placeholder Boat was definitely a reach. The other thought is that it's more of an access bay for a hybrid's jumping terminals. Notice that battery doesn't have have regular posts?
Wonder what the shelf life is on the battery. Could you charge it and let it sit in your truck for a year, in case you're stranded? I also wonder how long a 100watt ish inverter would last on here. Hrmmm
@TehMaliron I'm almost in except for this. Hopefully someone has an answer. The single-use equivalents on Amazon have bigger batteries and can stay charged for months.
@TehMaliron I have another make/model of one of these. It has started my 2001 suburban 5.3L twice. After sitting at about 80% for a few months it was still the same, and started a few vehicles. But one-at this price, it's a good deal. Otherwise, it's chargeable in the car or house. Don't let it sit any longer than 3 months and you'll be fine.
@TehMaliron Not a lot of capacity here, just a good bit of current (which is what you need for a jump start). I had an old school jumper box (lead acid battery) with inverter attached, think it was 8 to 10Ah capacity, and it would run my laptop (65w max draw, usually not using all that) for 2-3 hours. It weighed a good bit and was a pretty big box though.
Given inverter inefficiency, at a full 100w draw you're looking at less than an hour. At a lesser draw you'll get longer runtime.
The stated 400A max current is 50C draw on the batteries. If they are overrating the batteries at all you won't get too many jump starts before capacity diminishes. I will say I'm tempted to buy one myself.
@djslack Slacker, i have a different brand at work (i paid more than double for) i have jumped off several cars with it, i just bought one of these to keep at the house....theyre well worth having.
@zippyus I was thinking the same: sweet, I could charge it in my car periodically. I won't remember to bring it in the house to charge though, which means it'd do just as little good as the (probably-)dead portable jump starter I already have in my trunk...
@jseay65 lol it's a 10 hour loop!? OMG! I wish I'd had this when I lived in an apartment. Fucking neighbor upstairs would start dancing to polka music at 6am every morning
@username The slightly beefier units made by Rockford/anti gravity see a lot of use at my work. they routinely jump things old school full size jump boxes don't turn over. No idea about this unit, if it was a Rockford or anti gravity I would have been in for three. this says "knock-off" to me.
@username ya, I dunno either. My hope is that it's enough to help a struggling battery get it started. The battery doesn't go dead, it's just not strong enough to turn over long enough to get a very cold motorcycle started.
Wow. We sell these where I work, and the are $99.99. Same exact thing. Just woah!~ And, we sold out of them when we first got them, and now no one is buying them. Interesting. I'm half tempted, only because this price is less than even using my discount at work...but I already have jumper cables...but...then again, it could totally be helpful when there is no one to help you jump your car. Hm...
I have a similar product that I payed full price for after getting stranded in the desert with a bum battery. It's looks small, but it will start your car or your motorcycle more then once and have plenty of charge left over for your phone. I don't charge mine every month, probably more like every two or three, but I definitely wouldn't leave it for a whole year like someone else asked. Considering buying a second at this price do I can keep one in the car and one on the bike.
I would've just about killed for one of these when I moved to Texas. 1) My battery died the day before I was going to drive from Memphis to look for an apartment 2) A uhaul truck that I had rented died and stranded me at a storage facility. 3) My fiancee's died the week before she moved... 4) ...and then her new battery died again when we were 1.5 hours away from Dallas. While we waited for my sister to meet us... 5) My grandmother's truck, which I was driving at the time, died too. That's five dead batteries in about three weeks.
I've actually been researching these lately but will have to pass. Two notes:
The good ones come with LiFEPO4 batteries. a) They have a much better ability to hold a charge. Most of them recommend recharging once every 3-6 months if they haven't been used b) they are less likely to be damaged under adverse conditions (like, say, the heat in the trunk of a car in the Texas sun all day). Based on the sketchy product descriptions, many of the use regular LiPo batteries.
The really useful ones will charge your laptop in addition to having USB ports. Personally, I'm holding out for that.
Oh, and if any product manufacturer is listening, while I understand that you can't charge off of micro USB, the least you could is charge at 12V from a barrel connector (instead of the 15V that most do) so that any cheap car charger will do. A jumpstarter that I have to take out of the car for hours at a time to charge is pretty useless, because it won't make it back into the car for days.
Last night, got in the car with the family to come home home from Christmas shopping. Nothing. Battery totally dead. AAA would have taken 1-2 hours to come. A unit just like this from a Good Samaritan got us on our way in 3 mins. I tossed him $20 for bailing us out of a jam, and it was a great value. For a little more than 2X that, you won't get caught. I don't recommend being without one. I got this.
If this were a little cheaper I would buy it, because some day I will also buy a car. Which will also be cheap. And probably need this. (both because it's cheap and because it'll only get driven about once a month)
We have a very nice Stanley "traditional" booster with built-in air compressor, light, and USB port. Paid a bit more for it and love it - going strong for over 5 years.
However, our Stanley uses a lead acid battery. The reason it has survived? I need to top off the charge every other month. Had a previous one fail when I didn't top off the charge.
Can't speak for the quality of this meh model, but that Lithium battery in it has two advantages: 1) It will hold a charge longer than a lead acid battery... 2) It will very likely come back to life if you let it completely discharge (unlike lead acid batteries , which hate discharging completely).
@RedOak lithium batteries don't like to be completely discharged either, and may or may not come back from a trip too far down dead battery lane. But they don't self discharge like other cells so they will maintain a charged state longer. They actually do best if stored partially charged.
I just received mine yesterday and by the most amazing coincidence I need it today. It's fully charged up and I'm going to try it soon. My only problem is that the instructions are so tiny I can't read them. Is there a PDF of the manual anywhere? I google'd around and couldn't find one.
My Mustang battery died from no use over the Christmas break as usual. Yesterday I used a Schumacher XC-75 battery charger to recharge it and it still wouldn't start even though it said the battery was at 100% (which is troubling). I even used its Engine Start mode with no luck.
I received the ChargeIt! Jump yesterday (incredible timing) and it took 6 hours to charge. I tried it this morning and it started the car first try.

A: If it's damaged, defective, or just DOA, we'll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it. Pulling this thread from the dead to request that Meh get more of these. @mediocrebot
@unixrab GET EM AND THERE LITTLE DOG TOO
@mediocrebot Would this be a good addition to a tornado kit?
Baby arm...
@Cinoclav compatible....
@Cinoclav - Baby Frankenstein arm.
@Cinoclav Baby arm!
@Cinoclav are they "charing" it too?
A definite Meh. No use for this type of "combo" product.
Baby arm compatible, but no purple. Might be Georgia Red? Meh.
@heartny I love purple.
@heartny the red and black really ties the whole thing together. . sadly, it isn't Georgia Red.
Tempted to give this as a día de los reyes magos gift to my bestie.
Ok, I have to ask... who can identify the vehicle being "jumped" in the Amazon product page? I've never seen anything like that before and am very curious....
@placeholder From the picture (stock photo provided by the manufacturer) and their video, I'd say a newer model Jeep Grand Cherokee.
@xarous Perhaps, but I'm referring to the picture where the jumper cables are attached to what looks like a dedicated jumper plate and not directly to a battery, unlike the video. Meh.
@placeholder @xarous No, there's something particularly odd with that picture. It's a narrow compartment, not a regular engine bay. Notice the strut holding it open? @Cinoclav
The strut is just inboard, its a Hyundai.
@placeholder Boat was definitely a reach. The other thought is that it's more of an access bay for a hybrid's jumping terminals. Notice that battery doesn't have have regular posts?
@Cinoclav
Its a Hyundai genesis coupe.
@nltownsend843 if anyone would know, it's you, sir. Battery in the trunk?
@nltownsend843 And we have a winner! Thanks! :)
@Cinoclav I was gonna say, every boat battery I've ever seen has been tucked under a seat and nearer to sidewalks than this.
Good eye, @nltownsend843!
@nltownsend843 I had never seen that particular setup before. Good call, it's a Hyundai Genesis. What looks like the edge is actually the cowling.
@Cinoclav Wow, that's not a very user-serviceable engine. I'm surprised they even let you access the battery!
Wonder what the shelf life is on the battery. Could you charge it and let it sit in your truck for a year, in case you're stranded? I also wonder how long a 100watt ish inverter would last on here. Hrmmm

But one-at this price, it's a good deal. Otherwise, it's chargeable in the car or house. Don't let it sit any longer than 3 months and you'll be fine.
@TehMaliron QuickCable sells these branded and the product sheet says it stores charge for a full year.
@TehMaliron 11.1V * 7.5Ah = 83Wh. At 100% efficiency that would be almost an hour at 100W, but I would say about 30 mins.
@TehMaliron Not a lot of capacity here, just a good bit of current (which is what you need for a jump start). @nltownsend843 you sold me. I bet it's great as a starter. But I don't know about using it to run an inverter.
@djslack thanks for this explanation, it helps
But the real question is can the kids use it to "play CIA" and torture their friends?
@beachhead Uhm, I think you meant to say "enhanced interrogation".
@Kerig3 Oh yeah, that's what I really meant to say! I sure wouldn't want our kids to think they were doing something wrong...LOL!
Now we know how THIS started:
@Cinoclav She's 'stacked'! lol
@Cinoclav
I realize it's ridiculous for a pack this capacity, but if it can't take a charge from USB, I'm probably not going to charge it.
@zippyus
I was thinking the same: sweet, I could charge it in my car periodically. I won't remember to bring it in the house to charge though, which means it'd do just as little good as the (probably-)dead portable jump starter I already have in my trunk...
@Perkalicious if you have a cigarette lighter port in you glove compartment you van leave this charging permanently in your give box.
후리볼트 인가요? ㅋㅋ
이거 한국에서 13만원짜리인데.. ㅎㅎ
Damn this thing sucks
This would have been an awesome thing to have in 1980's when people actually did jump start their cars once or twice a year.
To paraphrase the band Muse: muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-meh.
@jseay65 lol it's a 10 hour loop!? OMG! I wish I'd had this when I lived in an apartment. Fucking neighbor upstairs would start dancing to polka music at 6am every morning
@capguncowboy Did I wake you? I thought you were already up. Sorry about that...
Pretty cool product. Wish I had the extra money xD
I'm going to try this for my motorcycle. Those tiny batteries are hard-pressed to start a bike after it's sat below 40 degrees for a few weeks.
i'm very skeptical this will actually jump a dead car. maybe motorcycle. ^
@username after reading all the feedback, i got one for the family.
@username The slightly beefier units made by Rockford/anti gravity see a lot of use at my work. they routinely jump things old school full size jump boxes don't turn over. No idea about this unit, if it was a Rockford or anti gravity I would have been in for three. this says "knock-off" to me.

@Lera i think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I have one like this and it starts my 950 even with a completely dead battery.
@username Don't you people just kickstart your motorcycles if the battery is too cold/old? Or is my scooter just superior in having that possibility?
@kr1sk That worked great for my 50cc scooter with a carburator. Not so much for a fuel injected liter bike.
@kr1sk my bike's fuel injected.
Wow. We sell these where I work, and the are $99.99. Same exact thing. Just woah!~ And, we sold out of them when we first got them, and now no one is buying them. Interesting. Hm...
Cobra sells something similar with great reviews. In for one for my boat.
@harpo1
I hadn't even thought of getting one for my boat. Now I'm back on the fence. Dammit, I was out for sure until I read that...
No pagination. I'm out.
I have a similar product that I payed full price for after getting stranded in the desert with a bum battery. meh.
I have a full size jump box from Sears that has a USB port and 12v DC socket. I mainly use it to charge devices while camping.
I would've just about killed for one of these when I moved to Texas.
1) My battery died the day before I was going to drive from Memphis to look for an apartment
2) A uhaul truck that I had rented died and stranded me at a storage facility.

@Moose Thank goodness for the 'apostrophe s' in number 3!
@Moose I don't think this device would have helped you, Jebus was clearly sending you a strong message NOT to move to Texas.
@Cinoclav Agreed! I had to reread #3...
@Moose I agree with @cheffelipe!
Can you order it with optional nipple clamps?
@visualseed that's what those giant alligator clips are.
I've actually been researching these lately but will have to pass. Two notes:

@mcosby it appears the ability to charge from your cigarette lighter is already included.
RAKUTEN price check now. This is getting serious. I like how the colder weather states are darker than usual on the purchase map too.
Meh. Bought a PowerAll a few months ago and this looks like one of many knock-offs.
Last night, got in the car with the family to come home home from Christmas shopping. Nothing. Battery totally dead. AAA would have taken 1-2 hours to come. The red and black color combo is nice though.
I love purple.
@jrwofuga That's my boy!
Tempted....
Wonder if this could charge a sansa clip.....?
But my car needs 650 CCA to start. It's only a Sedan O_O

@ebuljan Never mind, I took pictures of the manual with my phone and was able to zoom in to read it.
My Mustang battery died from no use over the Christmas break as usual. Yesterday I used a Schumacher XC-75 battery charger to recharge it and it still wouldn't start even though it said the battery was at 100% (which is troubling). I even used its Engine Start mode with no luck.

@littlenemo Looks like you've received a response now, but I'd like to point you towards our post about typical customer support response times: https://meh.com/forum/topics/customer-support-response-times-and-setting-expectations
I had received your item "Chargeit jumper".
but component(Jumper cable) in box was missed.
please send me jumper cable only
Reply please~~
@djmax On the front page is a FAQ. In that FAQ is this helpful piece of info: Q: What's your return policy? A: If it's damaged, defective, or just DOA, we'll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it. We DO NOT accept returns if you just decided you didn't want it, don't like the color, or just feeling a little buyer's remorse.
