Good luck with your quest. At the beginning of the pandemic, I made a list of items I wanted to upgrade in my house, and a floor lamp was the most problematic. I searched multiple websites for months, and even raised my budget to $500, with no luck. I finally found the perfect one 6 months later on the NextDoor app, and for only $50. I then paid another $50 for a new shade, but I now have something that I am happy with.

@tinamarie1974 I got mine at Target as well, kinda old but still goes with my current décor. If I replace the couch I might consider trying to reupholster the chair myself. Never attempted before, but this seems like the perfect chair to practice on due to its simple design.
@PHRoG I would buy this in a heartbeat and put Wendi on its back if it weren’t so speedy. Kirk could live right next to it! Oh or transplant kirks head onto it.

Looks like maybe some small changes including getting taller. It’s a great lamp, nothing fancy but gets the job done for cheap. The version with the adjustable reading lamp on the side is also great.
@metaphore I have Not lamps in 3 rooms here. Great lamp to just get the job done. Was in Ikea when they were on final clearance and bought one just to have around in a box, come in handy. The new ones have a much smaller dome and do not have the side lamp, which I actually like (even though doesn’t look as clean). Too bad Ikea always seems to get rid of anything I like.

Looking through it’s possible they had the Hektogram on display with the clearance Not’s prior to others availability. Next time happen into an Ikea will try and check the new lamp out, run out of places for them but have family members moving into dorms in a year so good to know.

@Kidsandliz wow, I wonder if I bought that monkey one if it would actually look like a bad Photoshop of a lamp in person? Because there could be something to a lamp that could look like a bad Photoshop in real life. It might be worth $300.
@Kidsandliz no I’m serious. You think I was picking out good lamps and not “good” lamps? I’m just in awe that that site would try to pass that off as a $300 lamp. So I figured it must be a magic lamp that looks like a bad Photoshop, that’s the only way it’s worth that kind of dough in my book.
They did have some cool little robot guys with light bulb faces that sit on a shelf or desk on that site. As soon as I visited their site once, 70% of internet ads switched to showing them. So I’ll make sure to click if I’m not busy just to chuckle at the robots and increase their ad budget.
@djslack I certainly would have expected it to be way cheaper. There is no way I’d buy either of those lamps although I do think they are funny in a laugh at them way.
