I live in Alabama and a simple, downloadable form will allow wine distributors to ship to state stores where purchasers would pay a small state tax at their selected state liquor stores throughout the state. Woot did not allow this and please tell the casemate business people that they need to make this channel an option for residents of my state.
@felkebg does meh then collect the tax upfront or do you pay it when you pick it up at the retailer? Seems like it could get complicated especially if you split an order with someone.
@felkebg How much tax do they collect if you bought half a case? Does that retailer collect anything other than tax for storing the case while waiting for you to pick it up? If not, what incentive would your local retailer have for participating in a deal from casemates where they don’t make any profit from it?
I procrastinated on donating to Kickstarter so I think I’m going to save my one $10 coupon for something else. I’ll probably need it for a case of wine since I live in a place that borders two states that don’t allow wine shipping and I don’t know if I’ll actually make any “casemates.” More wine for me!
