21I know we have some Cards Against Humanities fans here. They just dropped a climate change pack. If you input your zip code and find out that you are fucked, you get a discount that you can use or donate.

I will have to pick that up… I am pretty sure I have all the packs except the family version and now this one
Want.
My home town is where mine are getting sent! Can’t wait to see my moms face when we open them ans play for Christmas!
@sillyheathen
Can confirm. Hometown checks out.
Y’all be super fucked.
@sillyheathen
Sent some to my brother. Yep, Metairie is super fucked too.
@sillyheathen This made me laugh pretty good.
@mike808 @sillyheathen Super fucked for endless drought where I am.
@mike808 it’s even worse in Cocodrie and Chauvin! Pretty sure they’d just send the cards free of charge.
I’m pretty fucked so 25% discount
@ironcheftoni Same here in Philly.
Yep, checks out!
@PooltoyWolf I’m not sure I believe this. From the simulations I’ve seen, the entire state of Florida is supposed to be under water eventually. I think you are extra super fucked.
Thanks so much for the share! Purchased it.
I bought their land purchase at the border pack a few years back. I really enjoy helping good causes in a fun way. And hey, fellow Texans - we get a discount for how fucked our area is! (Yay?) I donated mine, but if every dollar is tight for you … it may make the $8 as low as $6 - or even lower for you coastal folks.
@Serafyna
My part of Houston seems to only qualify for the 25% level. I’d expect Galveston or Corpus to get the SF rating.
@Serafyna @werehatrack
I think all of greater Houston will be a ship channel if the ice caps melt.
And all of LA and FL.
25% seems a low % under the circumstances.
For all you space race fans, NASA Space Center Houston (including the mission/flight control center) is built in an area that’s 22’ above sea level. Yay!
Update:
Purchased. Fort Worth TX also qualifies as “pretty fucked”, which means I got a $2 discount. I paid it anyway and donated the $2 to protect and preserve rainforests. Hope that helps a little.
FW should get more hurricanes and tornados. So I see bad things coming.
However, we won’t be underwater, as Houston will likely be.
Disproportionate damages compared the discount offered, seems to me.
But what do I know? Nothing.
Extreme thanks to CAH anyways. Hope they gets lots of press and discussion over this.
@f00l @Serafyna
Texas City, the last vestige of Not Galveston as you go south on I-45, qualifies as Super Fucked on the violent hurricanes front, but only pretty fucked on sea level issues. That’s mildly amusing since they have reportedly already had very minor street flooding with spring tides in a couple of spots where it had never happened in the past.
Southern NH is in the “pretty fucked” 25% discount zone. Too bad there’s not a “tick” category, I might have been able to get a set for free!
@ircon96 Yeah Somerset county, PA is in the super fucked category for ticks as well (speaking from experience with lyme I, and a bunch of cousins, got there).
@Kidsandliz That sucks! I hope you’re all doing ok. I’m terrified of getting Lyme, but I’ve been lucky, mostly cuz I’m not generally the outdoorsy type. I did have a dog who had a bad reaction to Lyme, ended up with chronic arthritis, poor baby. It’s a nasty disease!
@ircon96 I got lucky. I knew what it was. I didn’t have the classic bulls eye rash, rather the deep red one (I removed a tick from where the rash was so it was a no brainer). I did get neurologic symptoms as I didn’t get treated for it for 4 days after I had symptoms (had to drive 1000 miles home first and then convince my PCP is a state with almost no lyme disease that this is what I had (county where I was had a ton I told him to look it up). Fortunately antibiotics took care of it so as far as I know no ongoing problems.
Sorry your dog ended up suffering a long term issue related to it.
@Kidsandliz Thanks, she was such a good pup. Sadly, it shortened her time with us, but she had several years that were bearable. Good thing you were on top of it & advocated for yourself, it’s nothing to take lightly! I’m really vigilant with my surviving dog, luckily she’s mostly white so they’re easy to find on her. My other dog had a thick, wavy black coat, so i didn’t have a chance in hell of finding anything on her until it had been attached too long. It seems like the Seresto collars they have now are a lot more effective than the drops we used to use, too, so that helps. They seem to be slowing down at the moment up here in NH, but u never know with the crazy temperature swings these days!
Wait!!! ???
Cleveland, OHIO will be pretty fucked due to VIOLENT HURRICANES???
Does that mean there will be ocean front property there in the future? With the Appalachian mountains in the way in the east and southeast and about 1400 miles of land in the way from the Gulf of Mexico???
@Kidsandliz
Cleveland, OH should be pretty fucked just…
because Cleveland
@Kidsandliz
Central Ohio will likely get the floody aftermath of every bigass himicane that hits Texas. Don’t thank us yet, we ain’t done burnin’ shit to make it worse! </sarcasm>
There’s nothing so fucked up in all the world that Texas can’t find a way to fuck it up more.
@Kidsandliz @werehatrack I just checked my town ~1 hour drive from Cleveland and we’re in trouble-heat, drought, and hurricanes. It does seem to me the that it’s hotter and drier than when I was young, but the hurricanes have been no worse than usual.
I’m just glad to be safe from the rising oceans.
@algae1221 @Kidsandliz
But at least the Cuyahoga isn’t a fire hazard anymore.
@algae1221 @werehatrack
Burn on big river burn on…
Yeah the oil that burned on the river surface partly melted a railroad bridge.
@compunaut Actually I liked growing up in Cleveland. Canoeing on a lake within walking distance of the house I lived in (the Shakers made a U shaped chain of lakes around the city) with a cool wide stream to play in, Saturday art classes at the art museum and art institute, the recipe for shrinking heads in the history museum (useful for threatening siblings)… And some of the east side, including where I lived, was a planned neighborhood laying out all sizes of houses in a way they went from big to small so schools had all socioeconomic statuses in them, Jewish, Christian and USA holidays off at school in our school district… Nice place to grow up.
@compunaut @Kidsandliz
/youtube Hastily made tourism video second attempt
@compunaut @Fuzzalini Hmmm… actually they unpolluted both the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie (at one point it was polluted all the way to the bottom - on the other hand that lake is only 60" deep at it’s deepest) so things are better. Some of that video is conditions 40+ years ago. The flats got gentrified. And East Cleveland isn’t the biggest slums around there - the Huff area is (what is left of it - I think the Cleveland Clinic has bought up blocks and blocks of that are in their expansion).
@compunaut @Kidsandliz There is an updated one they did a few years ago. But that one cracks me up.
/youtube Helpful All Star Game Cleveland Tourism Update
@compunaut @Fuzzalini Nah not cold 10 mo a year - only about 6 mo. And as hot and humid as the deep south for about 2 months. Lovely fall though. Spring has a fair bit of rain.
@compunaut @Fuzzalini Meant 60 feet deep not inches… oops.
@compunaut @Fuzzalini @Kidsandliz it is the least great lake. I find stats interesting. And apparently the epa has some
https://www.epa.gov/greatlakes/physical-features-great-lakes
@compunaut @Fuzzalini @unksol Hmm looks like I remembered the average depth and thought it was the deepest… Looks like the deepest point is near some Canadian Islands. Weird it would be near a land mass since that part of the country isn’t all that mountainous.
@compunaut @Fuzzalini @Kidsandliz I didn’t even catch the deepest that’s interesting I wonder why. Still is max depth is week most of them have a deeper average
@compunaut @Fuzzalini @unksol Yeah it is the shallowest great lake.
Wondering if there’s any place that is super fucked in more than one category. Does that mean they’re super duper fucked or double-fucked?
We’re Pretty Fucked in three categories - shouldn’t that count as one Super Fucked?
@stolicat me too. But would you rather be ugly fucked? Most of the Midwest/flyover states are problem fine but idk that they factored in the refugees
If there was a portion of humanity I liked I would have these cards. But alas.
I will have to get the New pack.
