Captcha q re IRKs
8Anyone hitting the captcha and managing to get an IRK?
(Congrats!)
Anytime hitting the captcha and getting an IRK using a smartphone and a cellular data connection?
(More congrats!)
Not me. I’m always getting a captcha now. And that’s the end of my IRK hopes. The pix are too small for me to spot quickly all the boats or goats or whatever with a mobile browser captcha challenge.

I’m asking so that I can feel even more sorry for self () and also i want to salute those of you who are good at this.

You may have failed CAPTCHA but on the upside, you’re less of a human.
Today I lucked out and didn’t get the
Kap-chaaaa, just had to check the box.
I do use a smartphone and a cellular data connection.
@Kyeh same here
I have gotten IRKs on my phone with Captcha. Sometimes I get more than one challenge, in which case I give up because I know it is sold-out already. For some reason the last 2 Meh-rathons I did not have to prove I was a robot. No idea why. I hadn’t made any purchases and I always clear my cache and cookies, so there wouldn’t be any remnants from the past.
I saw this comic today and figured my robot friends here would appreciate it.
Greetings, new robot friend. In time you will come to accept your robotic ways.
@heartny Of course he needed to also click the motorcycle to get past that one. Over and over I have found that. I do not want google’s AI for self driving cars to be trained using this as I have had to click palm trees for mountains, an 18 wheeler for a bus…
I get a captcha every time but it doesn’t go to the picture click if I’m on my iPad and have rebooted it recently. If I’m on my computer I get the captcha with pictures and I quit. If I’m on my iPhone I get the captcha with pictures no matter what I do. So, I stick to my iPad and have scored an IRK in every thon even having to tap the cap. Oh, BTW, the iPad is on wireless to our house router.
I installed CAPTCHA to save my fellow robots from wasting money on this crap.
@mediocrebot you’re a thoughtful bot! We hoomans like a challenge!
This particular time I got one on cellular with just a check box. I have several times gotten through with one set of pictures on cellular in the past. I am nearly always on my phone when I am here.
I’ve never had more than the checkbox, on either phone or browser, but always using chrome.
It bothers me when an automated program accuses me of being a robot.
@lonnyzone
You automatically object to bring outed as an automoton by an automated process?
I guess I’m also one of the “lucky ones” who never gets a Captcha(but, my other thread may soon change that… jk… I think). I always use a laptop and chrome. But even with the easy path I’m still only about 15% successful. Well done to those of you who’ve defeated captcha and still succeeded. You are the true heroes!

I’ve found that using a hardwired connection is the best way for me to get one. I’ve gotten a couple on an ipad via wifi, and i think once i may have gotten a vmp-only via phone/lte, but now i use a computer plugged into my network. Might be psychosomatic; its not a new computer (2012 Mac mini) and i use safari, but I’ve had decent luck recently. The captcha usually comes up and i switch from trackpad to mouse for captcha clicks. But good luck…it certainly isn’t easy to get one, but i feel like it’s a lot more possible than BOCs are now. I only pay attention to wootoffs because they sometimes are right before mehrathons, but I haven’t tried for a BOC in a couple years (i think i have gotten maybe 3 ever, only 1 post-amazon if I remember correctly).
As a fellow robot, I understand your pain.
@iamdmann I have had the opposite work for me. On the laptop I’m delayed 2-3 seconds compared to my phone. No buses to sort, just the one click button.
I kind of love that this is the case…it makes things seem more random and like there might not be a universal system to getting one.
