I think one of the polls should definitely be "What's your favorite forum meme?" This also gives you (the pollwriter) the chance to bring back your favorite meme no one else liked.
@silverqueen That's a big topic and there's whole books on the subject, but the short answer is it's a singular created concept that spreads from person to person. Shibe Doge, Nyan Cat, and Star Wars Kid are all internet memes, but other things like political & product slogans, urban legends, folk tales and such are also memes.
@silverqueen I was going to say "'Meme' is some stupid thing the kids are doing, and--hey, punk, get off my damn lawn." Because, yaknow, it's just whatever the hell it is that the kids are doing so it doesn't matter; what matters is that they should get off my damn lawn. Then I remembered that "get off my damn lawn" is a meme--used by old guys like me. Because, you know, kids. And my lawn, damnit.
Thank for filling me in on the MEME thing. I guess I have read them but didn't know that they had a name. What is up with the baby arm? I am going to take a wild guess that it keeps showing up in the product picts, and people comment on it?
@bluedyn You have met the baby arm? You went to the lab? Cool! So why did they take the arm off the baby? or did they get a bunch of non assembled doll parts in the beginning shipments? Smile Is it only one? kind of sad if there is only one arm, aint it lonesome?
@silverqueen I lived to tell the tale because I didn't shake its hand. I suspect the unlucky people greeted by it are dead now, cursed to roam the Meh warehouse as ghosts, able to see the merchandise but not touch it or buy it. They'll never be VMPs again. . . . And I only saw one of them. One creepy, scruffed, hard baby arm. A lone arm without a body. Where did it come from? What has it been used for? Could we live with the knowledge if we learned the truth? I hope I never have to find out. . . .
I would love it if someone linked me to the Georgia Red meme. I missed it's origin.
@patti This thing came in a LOT of colors, but not Georgia Red: https://meh.com/forum/topics/bem-bluetooth-speaker
@bluedyn and for that alone, every item is meh'd.
How many forum memes do we have on here, though?
Or, were you talking about generic Interwebs memes? There's thousands; Way too many for a poll.
@jsh139 BABY ARM
@JonT YES.
At the risk of admitting ignorance, what on earth is a "meme"?

@Starblind Really good and concise explanation. You get a gold star!
@JonT (you're the only one that can see the gold star you just gave him, kind of unsatisfying)

@silverqueen Some of us have met the baby arm in person.
