Can I trade in my gold stars for a speaker dock please?
9So, I've been waiting patiently for a speaker dock to go on sale for about 3 months, but to no avail.
I know I had a bagillion or so chances to buy one but I really didn't need a replacement for mine until the day after you stopped selling them.
That's why I'm willing to trade ALL off my gold stars for one speaker dock. You've got to have one sitting around somewhere, right? That's 266 gold stars from my own forum topics alone. Nope, I'm not going to count up all my stars from commenting in forums, that's way too much work.
How else am I going to listen to my sweet jams on my super old ipod without one??

@Lotsofgoats
@joelmw
@MEHcus But that's what I'm trying to get rid of...

Did the final JBL Mini dock sale ever happen? Micro, yes, not the Mini tho, right?
Or did Mediocre dump the remaining Mini inventory thru back channels?
@RedOak I'd be OK if this was the mini for sale...
But I have no idea if the final sale is over.
@luvche21 I know nothing about speaker docks except for the fact that I have one I will never use. It's a still-in-the-box Sony Recertified ICFCS15IPBLKN if you are interested.
@jsimsace I have two of those. They're very nice. I think @RedOak recommended them.
@jsimsace those SONYs have surprisingly nice sound (clean, not boomy) for the compact footprint. SONY made them in both Apple 30-pin and Lightning versions. You owe it to your aural curiosity to take it out of the box to hear for yourself.
@sammydog1 I'm pleased you like them.
When I find a device that does what it is supposed to do excellently - and does so at a great price point (in the JBL Micro/Mini & SONY cases; in clearance/refurb pricing) - I become a cheerleader for that product.
@RedOak @sammydog01 I'm sure it's a nice one but I am currently in the 1% of people who don't own a smartphone. :)
@jsimsace I use mine with an old iPod nano with a dead battery- twenty bucks on eBay. But maybe @luvche21 can use it.
@jsimsace Definitely interested, do you take gold stars for payment? ;)
...I wish there was a PM function here so that I could figure out details on how to get money to you for shipping, etc. Let me know what you're wanting to sell it for. You can email me at my username @ gmail
@RedOak @sammydog01 I have some model of this (the speaker part is much deeper, but the height/style looks the same) that I picked up at a yard sale, and it sounds terrible. I'm pretty sure that the previous user just blew the speaker at some point, it looks pretty beat up too.
I have an 8 year old ipod that I'm hoping that this will work for. That's my only Apple product that I've ever owned, so I'm far behind the times on everything Apple. I'm assuming this dock would still work, right?
@jsimsace the radio part of those SONYs works pretty well. The dual-alarm clock functionality requires NASA experience tho. (That portion of the user interface is user-abusive.)
@sammydog01 that's pretty close to the way we use the various 30-pin docks we have - with older OS-stranded 2nd/3rd gen iPod Touch's.
Great way to extend the usefulness of them.
@luvche21 the original version did have a thicker/deeper vertical case vs the latter more slender versions. If yours sounds bad it must have been abused/blown speakers like you said.
@RedOak I never figured out how to set the clock on the older dock, since I don't work at NASA. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one...
@luvche21 I have had good luck finding 30 pin docks at thrift stores. I have two Klipsch docks (not super fancy but nice) and one of the Sony ones. They were all five to seven dollars. I saw one of these guys on Thursday (you don't live in Maryland, do you?) It might be worth a look.
@sammydog01 nope, quite far from Maryland. I'll keep that in mind too, thanks!
@luvche21 I emailed you yesterday (just in case it hit your spam filter).
Did they make speaker docks?
@nadroj yes and they still sell many ...

I find ones for the old iPod versions at Goodwill.
