Meh is trying to sell too many of them to me (and I’ve bough them!), but really, I just want stereo Bluetooth speakers that sound good and are easy to set up.
I generally don’t have any issues with Bluetooth, besides the fact that the older versions of it were pretty low quality. My issue is that I don’t need battery powered speakers, I’d rather have a decent sounding speaker dock than a shitty wireless speaker for the same price.
I bought three sets of powered Bluetooth speakers last year, none from Meh (I kept missing the powered speakers), and the Bluetooth was non-functional on all three sets. Finally just gave up and I’m using a standard aux cable.
Rant Alert
My other complaint, which has nothing to do with speakers, is that since my phone updated, its freaking Bluetooth will not stay on. It also will no longer accept voice commands when locked. I’ve tried every fix I can find on Google, and none of them work. So every damn time I turn on the car, I have to manually unlock the damn phone, activate the damn Bluetooth, and then reminded the stupid thing it’s supposed to be playing music. I can’t find a voice command that will play music from my library, no matter how I phrase the command it starts spending data on whatever wierd shit it decides to play off the internet. Last time it was Arabic pop. Before the latest update, it did all of this automatically. We had a few months of detante, but now I’m back to being at war with my stupid Pixel. This thing’s given me so much grief I can’t count the number of times I’ve had to seriously struggle not to throw it out the car window. Its so cartoonishly crazy-making I sometimes look for hidden cameras. I will never again buy the purported top of the line phone.
My problem is getting prepared to use it at a certain point in a presentation, but not really being able to pair and prepare in advance. Inevitably when it is time to play the audio, the device will have gone to sleep or unpaired. Nothing like having 300 people sitting waiting while you pair everything up again.
I would also like the ability to name my connected devices. It’s a pain to have to remember which ones are which, especially when they come up with things like A320 which is not even a model number, but in an attempt to show up toward the top of said list.
My BT speakers do alright with pairing, but sometimes that one in the other room pairs and I get no audio from my phone until I shut off BT. Also for some reason, my car keeps losing media profile and pairs only phone audio.
We have NEVER used or paired our MAXELL DIGITAL BLUETOOTH SOUND DECK, purchased from Meh with ANY BT device.
Instead, we have it hardwired to our EMERSON 39" 1080P TV purchased from Meh, and use the included remote or the [Thank you Jesus!!] buttons on the soundbar itself to control it.
HOWEVER, if my Cell is on and in the living room [where the TV is] and the phone’s BT is on, [as it always IS if the phone is on]- the stoopid soundbar will not respond to anything, because its BT blue light is on and flashing as it tries to hook-up with my phone- the damn promiscuous thing just will not stop trying to corrupt my phone!!!
Even after I shut my phone off, the sound bar stays unresponsive with its blue light flashing until I turn it off and let it reboot.
Just sayin’ 'cause we were asked…

the bluetooth audio mangle.
Meh is constantly trying to sell them to me. T - O… to me.
@christinewas too many Os. Just like I have too many Bluetooth speakers.

Their batteries don’t come out easily, so they’re hard to store in the refrigerator.
Shit. I’m doing it again.
@shahnm Just store the Bluetooth speakers, batteries and all, in the refrigerator. Problem solved.
@rockblossom
Umm… Yeah. The thing is…
Let me explain something to you.
Shut up.
Never owned one. All of my electronics have cables, just like The Lord intended.
@ShotgunX Isn’t life inconvenient without a cordless phone?
All of the above !
When they announce everything out loud. “Powering on.” “You are now paired.” Etc.
@walarney Bluetoose modo is open.
@walarney power on phone one connected battery lvl medium that drives me nuts!
@walarney or, the classic “BLOO BLOO BLEEP”, every. damn. time.
the short leash BT puts you on which is never as long as advertised .usually beyond 20 feet they all loose connectivity
My issue with bluetooth is the range. I have yet to be able to get 1/2 to 3/4 of the range specified for the device.
I just don’t like speakers. I’d much rather listen to my music on a good set of headphones.
The battery is usually my complaint. Non standard non replaceable so guaranteed that it has a life and will be thrown away.
I don’t mind the battery life. I do mind having to charge the damn thing.
Sound quality is disgusting on most of them.

@katbyter in android you can rename them. Do you have android?
@RiotDemon Another reason Android RULES!!
