@lakersfankb81 A local place fries them and tosses them in hot wings sauce. I don't likw cauliflower, but I go out of my way to order this. So delicious.
@joe43wv I sometimes drive a extra 5 miles to my favorite fast food joint primarily because they have deep fried mushrooms. Mostly I don't because.... deep fried..... but sometimes
But if we're going to include things in the Nightshades anyway, the best deep fried vegetable is definitely jalapeño poppers. Zucchini and stuffed mushrooms tie for second, I think, although I don't know if I can really consider a fungus a vegetable.
@thismyusername@Pavlov If you make it into Philly, go to El Camino Real and get their fried pickles. Far and away my favorite, especially with the spicy chili mayo.
Besides, how can you go wrong with a place that advertises like this?
@OldCatLady shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh listen everybody forgot about me and they just think the goat icon next to me is because of my name, let me ride this thing out a few more days ok
All this talk of fried eggplant and green beans and cheesecake and white chocolate oreos has gotten to me. Now hungry. And i have to wait to 7 months for the Texas State Fair!
@craigthom Many of the daring deep-fried items (like deep-fried bacon, and ice cream, and chocolate fudge cake, and flavored ice cubes, and sushi), first appeared in my life via the (locally) very famous annual deep-fried food contest at the State Fair, which gets major news coverage.
The contestants are very creative, and that's my fav place for finger-lickin'.
Another vote for mushrooms. (Technically potatoes aren't vegetables either, so I'm okay with my choice.) Dill pickle slices are pretty dang good, though.
Dill pickles!
@jmoor783 More important question, spears or chips?
subvote star your preferred fried pickle choice below!
spear:
chip:
Spears
Chips
Bacon. Wait, not a vegetable.
Should be. Then it would be good for me.
I had fried leeks before- surprisingly tasty.
Cauliflower!
@lakersfankb81 My husband introduced me to this! Deep fried cauliflower is awesome!

So many tasteless jokes to be made...
@eVil Yeah . . . like persistent vegetative states, or blondes, etc. . . .
But that'd never happen on Meh.
Mushrooms!
@joe43wv i don't eat fungus, but I hunt morels and I hear they're tasty fried.
@joe43wv I sometimes drive a extra 5 miles to my favorite fast food joint primarily because they have deep fried mushrooms. Mostly I don't because.... deep fried..... but sometimes
Green beans
Lettuce, just to thumb a nose at health obsessed people.
@cercopithecoid maybe kale.
Okra, beyond a doubt, okra. So so delicious.
@Nexar Okranomnomnomnom!
Who needs those silly vegetables? Just deep-fry drops of batter, coat them in more batter, deep fry again, repeat as desired.
@awk it's the cracklins at Captain D's!
Batter dipped frozen Snickers!!
Peanuts are a vegetable.
Twinkies.
Vegetable just means not meat, right?
Seriously, green beans are not bad.
Deep Fried Oreos FTW. Because chocolate is a vegetable, right?
@ceagee This.
B-but...eggplant and bell peppers are in the potato family (Solanaceae).
But if we're going to include things in the Nightshades anyway, the best deep fried vegetable is definitely jalapeño poppers. Zucchini and stuffed mushrooms tie for second, I think, although I don't know if I can really consider a fungus a vegetable.
@Dweezle
If you want to get that technical, then even zucchini and peppers are not vegetables.
@DVDBZN Well, vegetable is just a culinary term to begin with. Biologically, there's no such thing as a vegetable.
Zucchini and Okra are neck to neck/bite to bite in the voter polls right now.
It's all good fried.
How about White Chocolate Fried Cheesecake? It contains blueberries, which is fruit and that's kind of like a vegetable.

@heartny That sounds yummy!
I'm one of those people that tries to avoid deep fried food in general, Including the basic fries and onions, haha.
@AgentRourke didn't @Jasontoon say you might like to think you don't eat fried food but... And don't make me bring Yoda into this. :)
Sweet potatoes, green beans and ice cream.
I haven't tried any of these fried, so I will go with peppers, the only one that isn't awful

@cinoclav I'm suddenly very thirsty.
@Pavlov You like it in the can?
@cinoclav
Corn. Dried, soaked in lime water, rinsed, rubbed, ground, flattened into disks, and cut into wedges, fried, and sprinkled with salt.
Shrooms!
wow I can't even correctly answer piyaju because you discounted onions
@Lotsofgoats Well, that's your fault. Wait, isn't today @mfladd's turn as goat? What happened?
@OldCatLady shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh listen everybody forgot about me and they just think the goat icon next to me is because of my name, let me ride this thing out a few more days ok
@Lotsofgoats Oh, go drink a soda.
@OldCatLady The owner of the car must me a Muslim...

Deep fried satisfaction.
@f00l or you could buy today's deal and fry your own.

Besides, the daily artery-clogger item sold out.
Although its not a veggie, I like MUSHROOMS....
Mushrooms (not exactly a veg)
Jalapenos
I'd really rather not fry up something that has a family.
Another vote for mushrooms. (Technically potatoes aren't vegetables either, so I'm okay with my choice.) Dill pickle slices are pretty dang good, though.
The real answer is anything is better fried. (unfortunately)
@mfladd Nope.
