A game while listening to a podcast or music, unless it’s an especially stressful flight. For those I use Insight Timer for calming sounds, plus maybe some Nyquil.
Book until I can’t stay awake, then snooze, if the flight is long enough. If it’s a late-night flight, I go straight to snooze mode. The longest flight I’ve ever had was nearly halfway around the world. It’s 13+ hours in the air from Houston to Auckland, and I slept for most of it. Left on Monday afternoon, arrived on Wednesday morning because of the date line. No Tuesday for me! Coming back, left on Monday morning, arrived on…Monday afternoon. You get a 42-hour Monday that way.
I doubt that I will ever get to do it again, but that one time was magic.
Best way to kill time on your phone during a flight/commute/whatever:
Hopefully if you’re driving for your commute you didn’t choose game/show/movie or a book (unless it’s an audiobook)… Though I HAVE seen all the above in use by folks driving at one time or another!
Poor time, what did it ever do to you?
@awk Have you not looked in a mirror?
Sleep. (Just call me Tiny Tim)
@hchavers Call me Rip Van Winkle
Game and (podcast or movie or show) at the same time.
Depending upon the curcumstance, each of these
I actually find it more entertaining to lean over and look at what’s on my neighbor’s phone.
So who is that guy that watches porn with the volume maxed?
Music to sleep to…
Porn
The only effective way to kill time is with a TARDIS and what are you doing on a 3 demensional plane in that case?
@unksol You knew that someone would point out that planes are two-dimensional, right?
@werehatrack honestly once you get up here you all look very flat. I’m not sure plane means the same in other dimensions
I have absolutely seen a non two dimensional plane.
/image plane
And really who takes a plane anywhere when you have a TARDIS
@unksol @werehatrack So it’s plain what you’re referring to.
@slidedealer @werehatrack I mean I think it’s pretty special but.
Sorting photos or cleaning up email folders.
Binge a show or watch a movie

You can’t kill time without injuring eternity.
@blaineg
Well if I have to use my phone then a phone call or texting. Makes me regret bringing my tablet or laptop though.
Yep, tablet. The phone is too small to bother with.

Answer enough work emails to get the WiFi expensed, then who cares?
Wait for my inevitable demise

@werehatrack I hope it’s soon there’s people I need to haunt when I’m a ghost
Call random people and ask them about extending their car warranty.
