Sandwich or not, hotdogs are poxy. Chicken lips and pig noses extruded into stray cat intestines. Gak. Slather on all the mouseturds you like, it’s still poxy.
@ruouttaurmind@shahnm hot dogs are delicious i like all beef hot dogs the best. grilled, pan fried, boiled, right out of the fridge packet, i like them all. imho, if we’re going to kill an animal for meat, might as well use all of it!
@jerk_nugget But then what will they make my dog’s food out of? If all the parts-is-parts wind up in hot dogs, there’s no parts-is-parts left for the pups!
@rawhite37 Sometimes I’ll build these for my lunch. Make 'em up the night before and put a little Havarti cheese on there and way, way too much peppa. Sitting in the fridge overnight, the cheese gets a little melty like. By lunchtime it’s a tomatolicious blend of garden fresh, pepperey, gooey goodness.
I voted PB&J, but honestly, now that I think of it, my favorite quick and easy sammich is cheddar cheese and pickles. With mayo, of course. Been eating those since I was a little kid.
@sammydog01 my mom bought one of these things and I’m like, why would I ever buy an uncrustable again? No idea where the cutter went. Haven’t had an uncrustable I purchased in forever.
@sammydog01 the problem is, you have to remember to take them out of the freezer, or, try to microwave them just enough that they aren’t frozen and aren’t hot.
i picked turkey - some nice turkey on white bread with a thin slick of hellmanns on either side and many very very thinly sliced half sour pickles. a little shredded iceberg is optional.
grilled cheese is great, but a good one takes time. 15 minutes. assembly, heat pan with butter over low, then toast for five long minutes each side, so the bread is nice toasty brown and the cheese is super melty. then let it rest just a couple minutes on a plate or board before cutting it so it sets up. i like mine with ketchup for dipping. dad always had his that way. lots of people make a face, but i don’t see how it’s that weird when grilled cheese & tomatoes - either fresh or souped - have long gone hand in hand.
@zachdecker i’ve heard that! what i like about butter is i can just melt it in the pan and not have to fiddle with spreading the outside of bread and then picking it up. i suppose there’s nothing stopping me from liquifying mayo in the pan the same way however… will have to give it a shot.
Scrambled egg with cheese and hot sauce on toast. Only takes a few minutes, even less if you microwave the eggs like a monster. Add microwaveable bacon or sausage if you’re feeling adventurous.
Peanut butter and brown sugar on a toasty four tortilla, wrapped up with a little cinnamon. My grandma called them “pañales sucios” AKA “dirty diapers”. I just don’t think about the name when I stuff them in my facehole.
Roast beast.

Hummus sandwich.
Yes!
Is a shit sandwich a metaphor?
Tomato, onion and cream cheese on a hard roll (Kaiser preferably). A bagel will do in a pinch.
By “best” do you mean quickest and easiest no-frills sandwich, or best tasting “quick-and-easy, no-frills sandwich”?
A wish sandwich.
Bread, tomato(preferably from the garden), mayo, salt, pepper.
@rawhite37 Ah. So a T.
@shahnm Haha, yup. Bacon requires preparation, and lettuce detracts from the tomato-y goodness. It’s the perfect quick sandwich.
@rawhite37 Boston like

Hard Salami on Italian Bread. Needs no condiments or toppings. Just bread and meat. Best accompanied by Root Beer if possible.
Tu-no salad… Chickpeas mashed… Vegan mayo, onion, pickles, salr/pepper… Sometimes avocado because it is heaven with a pit!

peanut butter on bread. jif brand please.
Vegemite on toast. Yummy!!!
When I first saw Uncrustables I though how lazy can you be? Turns out I’m pretty lazy. My kid too.
@sammydog01 my mom bought one of these things and I’m like, why would I ever buy an uncrustable again? No idea where the cutter went. Haven’t had an uncrustable I purchased in forever.

@RiotDemon You need fresh bread for that. All you need for an Uncrustable is freezer space.
@sammydog01 the problem is, you have to remember to take them out of the freezer, or, try to microwave them just enough that they aren’t frozen and aren’t hot.
@RiotDemon Wait, you’re not supposed to eat them frozen?
@sammydog01 crunchy!
Quesadilla. That’s a sandwich, right?
chips + bread
@chr2 Doritos on a PB&J!
Baloney!
@PocketBrain baloney and ketchup on white bread has been a fave of mine since i was very small
peanut butter and butter was another one my gramma used to make me, but i’ll save that for another time…
@jerk_nugget No, I meant that I disagreed with their choices.
@PocketBrain i know what you meant
@jerk_nugget @PocketBrain baloney sannies are pretty good
I have no idea WHY this works, and I hate mayo but Spiral Diner here in DFW has a sandwich:
Pickle Sandwich -
Cri’s classic poor man meal. Two slices of grilled bread with mayo and pickles. We’ll even throw in a side for you!
Again. It sounds disgusting, it SHOULD be disgusting, but it is definitely worth trying.
@riskybryzness Sounds like somebody quit early when making a Cuban sandwich.
@PocketBrain You are not wrong

@medz What the hell?
Is that a grilled cheese?

@jerk_nugget Try keeping that Hellmann’s out for the grilled cheese next time.
I like it better than butter.
@zachdecker i’ve heard that! what i like about butter is i can just melt it in the pan and not have to fiddle with spreading the outside of bread and then picking it up. i suppose there’s nothing stopping me from liquifying mayo in the pan the same way however… will have to give it a shot.
Peanut butter and lots of butter on toast

I can’t believe I forgot to pick up a tomato at the grocery store. I really wanted a tomato and mayo on white toast.
Ugh.
Do I go back?
@RiotDemon yes. otherwise you will keep thinking about it
@moonhat eating my sandwich. I’m happy now.
@RiotDemon that is wonderful.
@RiotDemon yummy

Tuna salad or toast with butter and Natural PB. NO JELLY. ick. I hated pb&j as a kid and it got no better as I aged.
