The people I know greatly prefer getting things in gift bags that can be reused, rather than wrapping paper that has to be recycled (if that’s even feasible).
Depends if giving or receiving. Giving, had to do a lot of gift bags because of travel. Boxy works with wrapping, but it’s fiddly. Bags are easier but they get crushed during transport and small things can get lost.
Receiving, mostly neutral. A little judgey on the quality of the wrapping, though.
Based on my kids behavior: wrapping paper. If it’s in a gift bag, they aren’t nearly as excited as if it’s in wrapping paper. This is based on 2 kids over the past few years. They are 4 and 6.
I use wrapping paper almost every time. If it’s too wonky for wrapping paper, I find a way to make it work somehow.
For Christmas we use stockings to put gifts in. I have a stack that I’ve accumulated at thrift stores and after Christmas sales. Our gifts go in there. No wrapping needed, and they’re infinitely reusable.

/youtube bring it on down to wrapperville
Don’t you just make the help hand deliver the gifts?
Delivery is the keyword here. Wrapped way more personal, effort-suggesting
If it’s already in a box or a book that can be wrapped easily, then wrapping paper. Otherwise, a gift bag.

Wrapping paper looks nicer, but I’m too broken to sit and wrap everything anymore. Gift bags are what I use for most things now.

Aint nobody in this house have time to deal with paper, measuring and cutting said paper, and tape. Give me a wrap-in-a-hurry bag any day.

@LaserEyes wonky wrapping is half the fun!!
Depends on who is available. If I can bribe my SIL - definitely wrapping. Otherwise, bag it is!
Except for gifts to araT - if I’m going to make an extra effort, it’s for hers.

It depends on the item. Done things do not wrap well.
Dose dumb done dings!
