When we make pancakes we make a lot so we’ll have leftovers, which we then use like bread - a base for strange combos in scrambled eggs, as a wrap around sausage & salsa, fried egg sandwiches, with PB&J, or just as a snack at night. They refry up nicely.
Speaking of breakfast sandwiches, this thing is AMAZING! I make mine with frozen pancakes, frozen sausage patties & egg. (With frozen stuff, it helps to let everything, including the egg, sit out at room temp for maybe a half hour, or add an extra minute or so to the cook time to make sure the egg cooks/releases fully.) You don’t even need to scramble the egg, just break it into the egg section & break the yolk with the shell for zero cleanup. And you can just wipe it clean when you’re done…the best part! It also comes in a double version.
@Kyeh I thought the same thing, how could it possibly heat all that stuff & cook an egg at the same time, but once you get the hang of it, it’s great! There are even cookbooks with ideas for all kinds of different foods, but i haven’t gotten to that point yet.
@blaineg@Kyeh That happened with me, too, i had put it away for awhile, but when i was looking for something to eat & had some leftover fixins, i decided to pull it out & I’ve been using it regularly ever since. I guess it depends on how much you like breakfast sandwiches &/or how much you hate doing dishes. I’m a 10 out of 10 on both counts!
Anything gluten-filled. Especially pancakes.
Waffles, with peaches or strawberries and whipped cream
@rtjhnstn Def. Waffles, but I tend to go the PB&J route…(always Grape, ALWAYS)
Pancake! A waffle is good too, with peanut butter.
all of the above

@stolicat Bad robot!
Brioche.
This is probably my favorite survey question. Or is it a poll?
Now I’m hungry for breakfast.
Flour Tortilla
@daveinwarsh Yes, finished off by grilling the wrap until it has a crisp brown skin.
A $100 bill with today’s restaurants’ prices.
@phendrick
my thoughts exactly!
Biscuit, southern style.
@jsfs The only answer. How was this not an option in the poll? Maybe because people have had too many bad bad, fast-food-chain biscuits?
Go for the healthy gluten free Atkins keto option: two sausage patties
Depends on the guts of the sandwich just make sure it is fresh bread.
@yakkoTDI So true, why limit yourself?
Australian toaster biscuits
@sicc574 Are those different from English muffins?
@lichen very different, they almost melt in your mouth
Crepes
@Star2236 Chocolate crepes made with cocoa powder instead of flour.

@ircon96 Huh! They sold these here a couple of years ago but I was dubious that it could do all of that well. I guess it does - nice!
@ircon96 @Kyeh We’ve got one gathering dust somewhere. It got used for several months, then faded into the background.

There’s a bakery in my college town that makes the most slammin’ breakfast sandwiches. You can get them on the freshly-made sweet-potato biscuits.
You’ll never go back to a different breakfast sandwich bread.
White, wheat, sourdough, English muffin, bagel!
@lichen Yep.
here FIFY:
Best: bread for a breakfast sandwich!
