When is someone going to make one of these with a trackpad built in? Ya, it's a touch screen and all, but sometimes it's just SO much effort to reach all the way up to that darned screen when my thumbs are already conveniently located in prime trackpad real estate.
Basically a laptop without the guts that you'd plug your phone into. (Nice screen plus an extended battery, which was cool). I have one from after they went on fire sale, but couldn't find a use for it.
@Jetlag If you pair a bluetooth mouse with your Android or Apple tablet... you get a pointer on the screen.
@ralphie, I hear ya. But my laptop weighs twice as much and only gives me four or five hours of run time on a charge. My iPad and Android tablets go for a ridiculous number of hours!
@trisk YES! I heard you can also use those with Xoom tablets as well as some kind of hack to use with... hmm... was it a Raspberry Pi maybe?
@trisk I still have (but don't use, obs) the Atrix 4G that went with that dock. I was always interested, but reviews were so iffy on it I never bothered to get it.
@ruouttaurmind Yep, those lapdocks, as they're called, work like a portable HDMI monitor and USB keyboard/mouse and can be used lots of devices/computers. Mine came with adapter cables so I could plug it into regular size HDMI and USB ports.
@ACraigL I also rotated part of the dock so it would fit the Droid RAZR phones we had at the time. Was impressed by the IPS screen and big touchpad and the fact that it also could charge my phone, but just couldn't find a good reason to carry it instead of a laptop.
I just ordered one hoping that it will fit my unbranded windows 8 10.1in tablet. I need a case for it anyways so hopefully it fits. If not then i'll have no use for this.
@troy Probably not, at the dimensions for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is 9.74 x 6.98 -- shorter than 10.4". Similar issue to my Winbook, the Best Buy "unbranded" has a wide bezel.
Hope this actually fits my iPad Air and that the Bluetooth keyboard works like it is suppose to meh..BTW, please don't take my car keys but if you do, pay my $$$$ car note for me ok? Sigh , it's cool having a neat car to drive around but it isn't cool actually paying for it..
Does the fact that it has Belkin's name on it mean it's any better than any of the crap $15 BT keyboards you've been able to get for 2+ years on eBay and Banggood? Because I don't need another crap BT keyboard.
If your new SJ250 helicopter is DOA and won't charge (like mine was), try force charging the battery to bring it back to life. To force charge, pull the battery and charge it with a power supply or charger to about 3.7V, then reinstall the battery.
Been fairly happy with the cheaper Belkin version meh sold previously.
Besides, why use one of these perfectly fitting models just like everyone else has when we have our very special, limited edition, one-off, custom-modded, hacked version? ;-)
I bought the similar one a while ago. Having the apostrophe to the right of the "l" key instead of the semi-colon makes it, somewhat surprisingly, completely unusable for me.
This is incredibly tempting to buy and use with my Asus Memopad 10.1 inch tablet. The current case I have now has 4 corner fasteners: One fastener blocks my power button and another blocks the volume button.
Should I pull the trigger and get this as a replacement?
Write-up: "Use this one weird trick to get a Bluetooth keyboard for your iPad Air! ... here's a case that fits el king jefe numero one of tablets, the iPad Air." Packaging (per photo): "For Samsung 10" tablets".
It's not clear that an iPad Air won't fit, but this case certainly doesn't appear designed to fit it. The write-up seems a little misleading.
I bought the last one that was for $5, it does not fit a Tab 4 tablet that is 10.1" well (it was for the tab 3 which is same as this one). I had to cut expansion gaps into the bracket frame to squeeze the tab 4 in, so if you have a tab 4 then it won't fit it without modification and even then not that great.
The Amazon page has some additional specifications about what it is supposed to fit. I was pleased to find it Galaxy Tab S 10.5 among the the compatible models, so in for 2.
wiry-dirty-amusement The first picture was something @OldCatLady would enjoy, so I'm putting up the next best match.
@jrahmandar Don't think this is "made for" an iPad or iPad Air2 but seems like it will be a good or a very good keyboard w/stand. I wouldn't trust it to use as a carry around case & that also seems to go for the ones that were made for the iPad/iPadAir/2 (from reviews on Amazon).
@jqubed - It's shiny people in a Chinese restaurant with icky dirty walls. He's paying, thinks she owes him big time. She's thinking "yeah, right, maybe try a place with clean walls next time". They left this picture in lieu of a tip.
According to Amazon it weights 1.4 pounds.. add tablet weight, and you could get same or even smaller weight, better keyboard with touchpad, more power and all the benefits of a laptop with ultralight one. From Amazon reviews video the keyboard here is flexible and flap stand isn't great either. It's all down to price I guess
i have to meh simply because i've got a few HP TouchPad keyboards that work fine with those and other tablets, I got one of the hack-the-case-apart ones (but i ripped out the mount, rather than scissoring it), and one of the "it works with 5 different devices" ones that were up here on meh last year.
If it fits el king jefe numero one of tablets , Do you think I can squeeze in my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2" ? I think i Might need some Duct Tape .... and tape it in .
Based on the Amazon link, it sounds like the case is worse than the keyboard. Since I'm more concerned about the reliability of the case, I'm going to have to pass on this product. :(
curvey-manic-pita. Hmmm. I thought about a picture of my ex-wife. She was curvy. And manic... and certainly a PITA. But, went with this rather disturbing image (first match) from Google.
I am typing with my Meh purchase right now. I like it and I can type much faster than with the screen keyboard. The keyboard has a good feel... tactile, without bounce and it has the right sensitivity. The case looks smart and it's just big enough for my 10 inch (insert aerosmith song here) toshiba tablet. The tablet sits a bit too vertical. The case doesn't offer enough viewing angles for the tablet, but it's quite workable. I'm happy.
My iPad Air fits great with the elastic corners, and the keypad works great but my pacemaker doesn't . Belkin and Meh blew it ,the medical device warning is missing that's probably why their dumping them. I guess I have a expensive cutoff keyboard. Does anyone know how to demagnetize the frame?
Arrived yesterday and fits my Samsung Galaxy Tab S perfectly. It works well, but wow is this thing heavy! It's weighs much more than my tablet. This will not be a daily accessory for sure, but nice for trips and whatnot. Happy with it but only wish it were lighter for daily use.
Used mine extensively today. Seems to work fine with my Windows tablet and overall I'd say I'm satisfied, although a couple of the keyboard changes are annoying me. If you'll notice in the pictures they moved the semicolon/colon key down next to the spacebar, so now the right pinky finger rests on the apostrophe/quotation mark key. I keep hitting Enter when I want an apostrophe or quote mark and getting apostrophes on the rarer occasions where I want semicolons or quotation marks when I want colons. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying when it happens. They also used a function key to merge the comma, period, and forward slash keys from 3 down to 2. Conveniently, the question mark is still accessed by pressing shift, but since its key is gone I keep hitting the shift key when I try to type a question mark. Again, not a deal breaker, but it's kind of annoying when it happens. I think I would've preferred smaller return and shift keys to keep the other keys in their usual places. So far battery life seems decent, though, both for the keyboard and in terms of added drain on the tablet.

@ruouttaurmind I have heard about these things called 'laptops' that do just that.
@ruouttaurmind Do you remember these?
Basically a laptop without the guts that you'd plug your phone into. (Nice screen plus an extended battery, which was cool). I have one from after they went on fire sale, but couldn't find a use for it.
@ruouttaurmind without something like a mouse cursor I imagine your accuracy would take a big hit.
@ruouttaurmind A pointer on the screen of an iPad? You are outta your mind.
@SSteve :-)
@ruouttaurmind Yeah, I got one to use with a Pi. Gotta hack the HDMI cable, though and that's in my to-do list.
@trisk I still have (but don't use, obs) the Atrix 4G that went with that dock. I was always interested, but reviews were so iffy on it I never bothered to get it.
@ruouttaurmind I see. I was thinking of a stock iPad, not one that's been jailbroken. Is there a jailbreak for iOS 8?
@SSteve I know TaiG has been proven through iOS 8.4. I believe also Pangu and several others are good through at least 8.3.
@ruouttaurmind Yep, those lapdocks, as they're called, work like a portable HDMI monitor and USB keyboard/mouse and can be used lots of devices/computers. Mine came with adapter cables so I could plug it into regular size HDMI and USB ports.

You know, I'd definitely be in for one of these if you also tossed in a working compatible tablet...just throwing that out there.
Yeah.....not really, nope!
This won't fit my "new" ipad 3 as it's 9.5". Pass.
@juststephen so is the iPad Air, which makes me wonder how snugly any iPad will fit...
I just ordered one hoping that it will fit my unbranded windows 8 10.1in tablet. I need a case for it anyways so hopefully it fits. If not then i'll have no use for this.
@eureca I just cancelled it since I have a feeling it won't fit since the height of the tablet is 10.4. Seems like a good price though.
@eureca this case is also compatible with the 10.5" Galaxy Tab S, so it should fit just fine
@troy Probably not, at the dimensions for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is 9.74 x 6.98 -- shorter than 10.4". Similar issue to my Winbook, the Best Buy "unbranded" has a wide bezel.

Any dimensions for this? Trying to figure out if it'd work with a Winbook TW100 (about 10.5 x 7 inches).
@narfcake according to Amazon it's 16.1x10x0.9 which I'm assuming is it opened up. Also mentions "elastic corners" for stretchy fit.
@narfcake http://bfy.tw/lxg
@nickiwhite Sounds most plausible, as nowhere I searched at had anything more specific, which was what I was hoping for when I asked this.
Does the fact that it has Belkin's name on it mean it's any better than any of the crap $15 BT keyboards you've been able to get for 2+ years on eBay and Banggood? Because I don't need another crap BT keyboard.
@Pufferfishy So, those aluminium bt $17 keyboards aren't any good in Ebay?
@Pufferfishy this keyboard is $1 better than the crap $15 BT keyboards.

@uwacn this seems more apropos for drone.horse
@uwacn Looking for this topic?

I have an 8" tablet. Could use a new case and keyboard, but this one won't do. Ah well.
Been fairly happy with the cheaper Belkin version meh sold previously.
Besides, why use one of these perfectly fitting models just like everyone else has when we have our very special, limited edition, one-off, custom-modded, hacked version? ;-)
I canceled my vmp and now you do this to me. Thanks, Obama
I bought the similar one a while ago. Having the apostrophe to the right of the "l" key instead of the semi-colon makes it, somewhat surprisingly, completely unusable for me.
I suspect hyperbole; no evidence of semi-colon infatuation found.
@grmeyer It's not that I use a plethora of semi-colons. It's because every time I try to type an apostrophe, I get a new line instead.

Hmm... I lost my keys earlier today. At least now I know who took them...

@gantt I don't disagree, but I think that's par for the course here, it falls under "salesmanship".

white. I need a white one!
I'm hoping this will work with a Windows tablet.

I have no idea what's going on in this picture, and the page it's from didn't help.

Sadly, meh this year has been meh :(
I just got this for an IPAD2, whatever -- we'll give it a shot!
@runithard Did this work well with your iPad 2?
