I don't cry. I hate to cry. Thanks for making me bawl. As the mom of two red/green deficient boys, the idea of some day being able to give them these is almost more than I can stand. I knew these existed, but his reaction hits me hard on the gut.
@lisaviolet This kid is just so funny, and that makes it even better. Being scared of the wipes, that was priceless! Some day, some day my boys will see just how beautiful the Christmas tree is, or how gorgeous all the trees we have in the PNW are. Even if they have to share a pair. Ok, who's cutting onions?
@lisaviolet@jaremelz I, too, cried at his joy and not just for seeing purple. (Gasp) I know, what a strange comment coming from Purple Barney, but everyone should be able to experience the joy of colors. @jaremelz I hope your boys will one day have these wonderful glasses.
@Barney There are certain things many of us take for granted. We can't help but do it, they are things we've always had or been able to do. I love doing artistic things, the more color the better. When we realized our second boy was, it sucked. But at least they both get what it's like for the other. Some day, I'm going to make these happen for them.
@Teripie You are, without a doubt, the sweetest! But, my little one wouldn't be able to wear them often yet, he's too young for contacts. So they are, for now, a little ways off since they could only wear them part time and that seems a waste of hundreds of dollars!
What a crazy experience that must be! I can't imagine experiencing new colors for the first time. The closest I've been is probably getting glasses for the first time after having terrible vision for a while, but even that wasn't quite the same.
That is truly amazing. Just like @JonT, I can remember realizing all he trees had leaves when I got glasses (before that, they were big green blobs.) But seeing all the colors has to be a much bigger shock (and not even drug-induced.) @narfcake Nice Woot shirt, too.
That's awesome! Imagine what it would be like to one day have your life change in this way.

@jaremelz There are more of these videos and they always make me emotional. Every. Single. Time.

@jaremelz Okay. How much do these things cost? Where can we get them? When do we start a Go Fund Me account for your boys?

I think that kid and @Barney need to go on a lavender park tour in China
@denboy Wouldn't this be fun? Will you come with me?
@Barney You bet. My sister even speaks mandarin so let's bring her along.

Or drive around in the $200k McLaren

That's awesome. I couldn't imagine getting to experience something like that for the first time as an adult. It's beautiful.
And, because I'm a nerd - he's wearing this woot shirt. (@2many2no noticed it first, though.)
