Automatic Meh Face Clicker using PHP/Curl (With Bonus Mehtrix)
39I’ve been doing some playing around with some Meh stuff the past couple days (as you could probably tell from my previous MorningSave post). Well, I made a script using PHP/Curl that will automatically log in to meh servers, and click the meh button for you. If you have a server that can run PHP, just create a file using the below code, and set up a cron job (I’d set it up to run 2/3 times a day just in case something times out). Be sure to replace your username and password with your account info.
I’ve also created a Mehtrix that is auto updated using the meh faces. It is fun to run in full screen mode (F11 in chrome). It can be found here.

Kick ass! The mehtrix is especially mesmerizing.
(I’m beyond hopeless when it comes to meh face clicking, though. 31 has been my longest streak.)
@narfcake wow, you suck at Meh. clicking more than me. unusual for a regular.
@narfcake I have exactly 31 clicks! Of course my longest streak was 3
@Yoda_Daenerys Hah! The mehness of the offerings has meant I usually skip the main page and just read the forums.
@mehbee Your non-click streak has got to be way better than mine, though!
the Mehtrix
@katylava Should be noted: works best in chrome, some features aren’t supported in other browsers (like coloring the faces green)
@lichme
Works in Firefox mobile.
Awesome.
So far all my Meh clicks have been manual (or are they technically digital?) but there have been a few close calls.
I was thinking about using phantom.js and emailing a screenshot every day.
Cool metrix. You should get a
kewpie dollfree fuko from meh for that.amazing work, well done
/youtube amazing work grace

As someone who as manually clicked the Meh button 927 times in a row, I feel like the coach who says “you’re only cheating yourself” the THRILL and EXCITEMENT… did I click it?! did I forget to click?! i must click!
@Collin1000 I do that almost every night.
Some days I check the site several times just to make sure…
@Collin1000 Sounds like an addiction. “Hi, my name is Colin1000, and I’m a meholic…”. That said, if this is the worst addiction you have, I think you are probably going to be ok.
@ninjaemilee I’m glad I’m not the only one.
Is this something that a person not normally experienced iin copying code, etc., can do?
@mehbee Just click the usual way.
@mehbee Mehbe. Do you have a Web server running PHP?
If not, you can install a Web server, like Apache, and PHP on your computer. You can probably find cookbooks to do that, so it won’t require much coding.
Seems like a lot of work to avoid clicking, though, especially since clicking doesn’t really mean anything to anyone but yourself.
That’s really cool. Using PHP7 I had to add “curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false);” to bypass certificate problems. It throws some warnings but it successfully clicks the meh button for me.
@uwacn Why not just add the -k flag to the curl command?
@lichme cool stuff. As an FYI, on a 4k display your mehtrix only fills the top 2/3rds of the screen
@hanzov69 Any better now?
@lichme Well… sort of.
It renders in full screen, but now it’s stretched horizontally.

@lichme mehtrix is fantastic!
@jimmyd103 Thanks!
<-- so apathetic that I cannot even find the will to click the usual way, let alone programmatically
Cool idea… but it’s cheating. Plain and simple. Basically takes what the Meh button stands for and puts way too much effort into it.
@BillLehecka SNAP
@BillLehecka I’ll refer you to this thread, from none other than @shawn, which requires significantly more effort
@lichme Difference is there is still a button being pressed by a human. You’re automating the process by enacting a third party bot.
That being said, the Mehtrix is cool.
@BillLehecka If your click the button when you don’t think it’s a “meh” deal, aren’t you also cheating?
@craigthom
No. Or if so, no one cares.
Clicking the button - or being assured that the button has been clicked - leads to Zen or something.
@craigthom Trick question. All deals on meh.com are Meh deals. Whether you like them or not.
@BillLehecka I think that this bothers you more than it should
@BillLehecka It stands for something?
Why aren’t I getting the memos?
For the first many months I was doing it wrong and was only clicking on things I though were meh.
Where’s the manual?
