"Touch of Grey" was obviously the song with the skeleton video, but I am wondering which of the two "classic" Grateful Dead songs that Irk knew: "Truckin" or "Casey Jones". Or maybe I am way off in my bias as those are the only two other ones that I know.
What bothers me about The Grateful Dead is that their name seems to imply they are a heavy metal group. They are not. More like a bubble-gum-pop-rock group or something. I don't know. The imagery of their name just does not fit their sound. The whole calling fans "dead heads" and skulls and stuff you see on their merchandise... Why? They're not hardcore at all... Maybe it bothers me more than it should.
@hashybrown I agree, you can name your band whatever you like, but wouldn't be weird if Peter, Paul and Mary were instead called Metallica? Just saying the name doesn't fit the music.
@medz Sure, but the Grateful Dead band has been around longer than heavy metal music. Also, the name "grateful dead" refers to a type of folktale or ballad in which someone helps a ghost (usually by making sure its body gets a proper burial) and is rewarded in return, often by having their own life saved from some sort of peril.
@matthew I dunno, the Dead were Ken Kesey's house band for the original 'Acid Tests' in the mid 1960's. Didn't metal bands started several years even a decade later?
@matthew@irk maybe the question was which greatful dead is your favorite? Band member? Or as I could interpret it. Which dead person are you greatful they are... Dead. Your Er um favorite dead person you are greatful of their death or something. Anyway. Bin Laden could fit that... ;)
Congratulations, @dasHcloud on having your question (not) answered by Irk. Even more for having your name customized!
@KDemo I just realized that DAS/H/cloud could be the header for a discussion of storage architectures.
@KDemo Or it could be the sequel to this movie. Maybe something about a hydrogen bomb.
@joelmw - What if it started showing up as DAS/H/butt?
I think I found that other one.
That Bin Laden joke was awesome! I want an Irk tv show! I want my MehTV!
Thanks Irk! You made my morning!
Every silver lining has a touch of Irk.
I got you Irk, something something 'I will survive'. Something something 'touch of grey'?
Do do do...

As a confirmed Deadhead I approve of this video

@medz they're a jam band. Personally, I think band names are completely arbitrary.

@medz Interesting. I never pegged the name to indicate metal. Funny how names strike up different impressions to different people.

@Starblind the Dead and metal are of almost exactly the same vintage

The Internet says the Grateful Dead formed in '65, and Black Sabbath formed in '68
By the way, you can download a track a day this month: http://www.dead.net/30daysofdead (not like they're particularly hard to find otherwise...)

@sohmageek meh... I guess you did say Band member. I still wish I knew... Wrong thread...
