Arrrrggghhh. I crashed my car
13Totally crashed my car today. Thankfully, I had just increased my coverage. Of course, it will only cover the car I hit, not my old high milage car. Which I think may have taken its last ride. This is a financial catastrophe for me and now I have to figure out some way to get (borrow) a car before tomorrow afternoon when I pick up my kids at school, 20 miles from where we live.
Fuck fuck fuck this shit. Mother fucking son of a bitch asswipe douchebaggyness.
sigh

So glad you all are not hurt.. fingers crossed you find a solution!
So glad no one was hurt!
I want to see the splash picture! (the ghost pic at the top of the screen)
@G1 It's not as scary as you were hoping...
Insurance might cover a rental. Couldn't hurt to ask. Glad you are OK.
Thanks, y'all. I just needed to vent. It will all work out one way or another. Sometimes life takes a shit on you. But in no time, I'll be back to taking a shit on life. Yay me!
@cation Glad you're ok though. But yeah, better the shitter, than the shitee.
That does suck. Sympathies. Buying cars, new or used is not fun.
So sorry you have to deal with this and glad you were not hurt. As someone else said, see if your insurance company will give you a rental. I got one via my insurance for 3 days (which was not enough time, but better than nothing) when my car was totaled out in a 25 car pile up. If they won't the rental car place might give you the insurance company rate. Doesn't hurt to ask about that either.
@cation you wouldn't happen to be in the DFW area would you?...
I only ask, as My Brother(who is also lurking around these forums, I just don't know his username) is moving back home to Ohio from down there, and has 2 vehicles to sell in the next few weeks...
2006 Mustang GT, auto, around 70k mi.
2007 Dakota quadcab, Auto, 4x4, HO 4.7l V8, 40-ish thousand mi.
not trying to capitalize on your loss, just could possibly be a interesting coincidence, that could benefit both parties...
@earlyre Nope, I'm in Washington state. I also will likely be getting another Subaru. I was really happy with mine. Thanks though!
@cation - Yay, a mehbe neighbor! Sucks to have car problems, accidents are scary. Good luck getting back on track.
@KDemo Cool! I was born in Seattle and have always lived within 15 miles of the place I was born. (except 9 months in Bellingham) Whereabouts are you?
Also, are you one of those rent a goats? The lot next to where I live has a lot of thistles....
@cation - Olympia area, and I love artichokes! I can be rented through my agent overlord, Amazon. They keep the profits and pay me in weed.
@KDemo
I'm so sorry. Glad you're not hurt. Hope you're not sore tomorrow.
Feel free to curse a lot.
No matter who/what was at fault, self-recrimination forbidden.
@f00l I was at fault. :-( Situation made worst due to Seattle's fucking traffic and parking issues.
@cation They are bad enough it's a wonder everyone doesn't just give up and start playing bumper cars.
@jaremelz It kinda makes me want to quit Seattle, and then summer wonderfulness reduces my BP enough to relax and enjoy the beauty.
@cation That's the real Seattle trap. I'm just south of you. But I lived there for about 13 years. When I come up, I honestly dread the drive. But once I'm there, I love the place.
Way to go, @KDemo.
@DaveInSoCal
Just came out of the drive-thru with a shamrock shake, and looked away for only a moment . . .
Seattle seems like one of those places with lots of 'gig economy' activity. I'm always seeing something or other in the news about Uber or Lyft or Taskrabbit and Mt Ranier is in the background.
I'm sorry for the loss of your wheels! But if you just have to get the kids from school today it might be less expensive or less hassle to Uber (as a verb?) up a ride than to get to a car rental place on foot.
Here in rural San Diego I've never had occasion to use a rideshare app so I don't know about cost. Just that it might be worth a shot!
I think it was the other person's fault. They should buy you a new Subaru today. Also, it should have paddle shifters because those are a necessity in today's fast-paced society.
