@cengland0@krichar77 Looks like the second comes with two cables? But I think the first has a better cable. Who knows. Someone sneezes at Anker and makes 5 new competing products.
@CANNONFODDER@cengland0 Coupon code VMP for 10% off of most items at Morning SAve and Side Deal. Items like the Side Deal Daily don’t not allow use of coupon code VMP.
@cengland0@krichar77 What I discovered when I had a problem with one of their battery packs is that what meh was selling for that was only sold in stores and not online (I’d suspect to protect price matching for stores like Best Buy). I’d also suspect, based on what one tech support person told me that basically it is just the model number is different or the cord length or whether or not it comes with one… Trivial differences (outside of price) if you are talking about the actual item (eg the battery pack).
@GeckoD $40 from Walmart. $45 for a similar model from Target. So regardless, a decent deal. But my Morphie powerbank from a while ago that is virtually identical works just fine. Plus I have the Anker battery that has built in Qi charger.
Recharging Time: 4.5 hours (with 18W USB PD charger & USB-C to C cable)
USB-C Input (PD): DC 5V=3A, 9V=2A, 15V=1.2A
USB-C Output (PD): DC 5V=3A, 9V=2A, 15V=1.2A
USB Output : DC 5V=2.4A
Total Power Output: 18W
Note:
• Will charge Nintendo Switch but does not support “Charge-and-Play” in TV mode.
• Incompatible with HTC 10, HP Spectre, Dell XPS series laptop, Dell Venue series laptop, Asus series laptops/tablets, as well as Lenovo ThinkPad 470s and ThinkPad X1 tablets. Huawei Matebooks, Mi books. Some USB-C devices which require an input over 18W may not be compatible.
• Use Power Delivery Charger (not included) with the included USB-C to C cable for a quick recharge in 3.5 hours.
• Recharging with USB-A charger and cable (not included) will take approximately 10 hours.
• When charging an iPad, make sure the portable charger has at least 2 LEDs illuminated, otherwise charging speed will be insufficient.
• Disconnect your USB-C to Lightning cable when not in use to avoid draining the battery.
• 10,000mAh is the total of the nominal rated capacity of internal battery cells.
I have a version of this that was sold earlier, 10,000 mAh with the wireless charging option which never worked completely with my iPhone (would only charge it to about 80%) but the hardwire connections work great for both my phone and iPad with enough power for them to do the quick-charge thing.
The same battery pack would be under ASIN B08LH26PFT.
That’s $31.99 pre-tax with coupon. If one’s not a MVP, with S/H, both site pricing comes pretty close, with AnkerDirect/AMZN offering 2 cables along with the battery pack. Just FYI.
I am thinking about this further. With the exact same case, nominal rated capacity, etc., perhaps Anker replaced this (Meh-offered) prior model with the other (Anker-itself-offered/AMZN-offered) model by just increasing the current/amperage for the 9 V for the USB C connection by .22 A, thus allowing the claim for the other model to be 20 W. At 5 V, that unit provides a common 3 A. At 15 V, it provides 1.2 A.
Pricing is similar — again, only if one is not a MVP and needs to pay for S/H on meh. With the other unit coming with 2 cables, that might or might not make a diff to y’all.
@jjrmanderson Same 10,000mAh but not the same model. The one you linked does not mention PowerDelivery capabilities and says “up to 12W” and the one on Meh does 18W.
@jjrmanderson - I came back to state the same thing as the others, but for me this will be OK, because I’m looking for one to power the heated vest I just picked up recently,which uses the USB-A port. Glad you linked this one.

Ankers aweigh my lad!
You just hope to charge my credit card.
@phendrick They are not the only ones. If you could just provide your CVV I could wrap up my work here.
@yakkoTDI They used to be 900 but lately here they are 899.
$5 cheaper here than at sidedeal….
@krichar77 Which of these 2 listings do you suppose is the exact same item?
The second one is only a penny more and really cheaper if you’re VMP, if you know what I mean.
@cengland0 @krichar77 Looks like the second comes with two cables? But I think the first has a better cable. Who knows. Someone sneezes at Anker and makes 5 new competing products.
@cengland0 I’m VMP but I don’t know what you mean.
@CANNONFODDER @cengland0 VMP 10% discount. Put VMP as the code.

@cengland0 @Kidsandliz @yakkoTDI Thanks! Probably should have waited and used that.
Been using 2 of these for the past few years. Dozens of trips and basically beat the crap out of them, still work great.
Give ya $11
Ya, Lowes is where I go to check prices for all my electronics.

@GeckoD Same $50 price on the 'Zon, where the reviews are 89% positive (4+5
).

“I have too much power!” said no geek ever. “And 99 cents changed my mind to purchase.”
18W, is that really 1.5A at 12V, or just 2A at 9V, or…
1.6 + 2 A, at a measly 5V?
Inquiring minds want to know!
@aoprea
From Anker site.

Because why say “10 Ah” when you can say “10,000 mAh”. 100,000 is always better than 10. Duh. BTW does anyone know if this thing is gluten free?
@hunt2alaska The gluten is available separately at additional cost.
@werehatrack for an extra penny?

@stolicat FWIW, the 80% is the iPhone deciding to stop at 80% to preserve your battery life since always going to 100 is supposed to be bad.
Will this work with an Oculus…ahem…Meta Quest?
Actually, MrNews,
The same battery pack would be under ASIN
B08LH26PFT.

@bartsimpson That is a slightly better power brick. It can provide 11% more power than the Meh product.
hamjudo,
That is officially/formally correct.

@jjrmanderson your link is not to an 18w USB-C PD charger. The USB-C on that one is only for charging the power bank.

@hamjudo Yep, good point.
@cengland0 Yeah, it is probably close enough and substantially cheaper for most people. Good catch on that difference.
@ashemo Yeah, absolutely!
